In With The Good Out With The Bad
(Alice's POV)
After running through the woods for what seemed to be an eternity, I finally reached the streets of the city. The babies were crying. I needed to find a place for us to stay, for not only were the babies weak and tired, but I was as well. We needed to rest and feed.
I walked through the town, taking alleyways as my routes, in this unfamiliar place. I've never been outside of my home town until after I was kidnapped. I stumbled upon a familiar place. I had seen it before. Flashbacks started to hit me.
The sign above the back door, told me that it was a bar. I've never been at a bar, so where did I know this bar from. I looked at the ground for clues, which was covered in trash, broken glass beer bottles, beer cans, and... blood... This... this is where Tate was killed.
I could feel the anger, the hate, the sadness, rush over me. Tears streamed down my face, as I ran away from this place. I stopped when I realized I was being chased. I couldn't tell who or what it was.
When I turned around, I seen something crawling towards me. Another shadow? No, this thing was on all fours. It was so dark out. I could barely make out the outline, until it came closer and the moons light shined down upon it. I seen one golden eye, and one blue eye. It had sharp teeth and fur. It had to be a werewolf. A vampires enemy, until Kane made hybrids of the two. What I don't understand is how I couldn't sense what it was.
It started to stand up, as I began to back away from it. I was scared of what it could do to me, after seeing Tate being killed by a werewolf. Could this be the same werewolf? A paw reached out to me, then turned into a woman's hand. This wasn't the same werewolf.
"Alice?" A girl's voice asked me.
"Who are you? What do you want?" I asked holding the babies closer to me.
"My name is Luna. I'm a friend of Tate's. I want to help you," She said as she stepped forward.
She was naked, probably because her clothes ripped off of her human body when she turned into her wolf form. Her tan skin glowed in the moons light.
"Tate's dead. How do you know him," I asked, feeling jealous.
Flashes of images of her naked body being pressed up against Tate's naked body, filled my head. I shook the idea from my thoughts.
"It's not what you're thinking. I can read minds you see. I know Tate, because I met him the night he was attacked outside that bar. He sat next to me, and we talked about you. You truly are special to him. He's been searching for you for the last five years. You are one lucky girl," She said as she touched her blue eye.
There was a tiny healed scar going down her forehead and across her blue eye. The scar wouldn't be noticeable to the human eye. Werewolves are naturally fast healers, just like vampires. I would ask what happened, but I don't know her that well.
"He's dead now, so it doesn't matter. How could you possibly help me?" I asked as a tear escaped my eye.
"Well first, can I get some clothes? I don't want to walk around naked. I can tell it makes you uncomfortable. I can take you to a place where you can stay tonight. It's a motel not to far from here. You can stay there tonight, and I will come for you in the morning," She said.
"How do I know I can trust you? How do I know you don't work for him? You watched Tate being killed. I seen you," I said.
"I fear him, and want nothing more for him, but his death to come. He is a cruel being. Yes, I was there, and he was alive when we left," She said.
"Sophia wouldn't lie to me," I said.
"Has she even told you?" She asked.
"Told me what?" I asked.
"Oh, she hasn't..." Luna said.
"Tell me," I demanded.
"She's a bi-mater," She said.
"I'm confused. What is a bi-mater?" I asked.
"It's common in hybrid beings. Sophia is a witch and a vampire. The more different beings you are, the more mates you have. She has another mate, besides Him," She said.
"How do you know?" I asked.
"She told me herself," Luna said while folding her hands over her bare chest.
"Why would she tell you, and not me," I asked.
"Well she figured it out not to long ago. She was probably scared to tell you," She said.
"Why would she be scared to tell me?" I asked.
"Well... You... you're her mate," She said.
"That can't be. Tate and I are mates," I said.
"It's the truth. I understand this is a lot to take in right now. I fear we don't have a lot of time. It's almost midnight, he and his men will be heading back soon, and when they don't find you, they will be looking for you," She said in a hushed tone.
"Okay, I trust you. Don't make me regret it," I said, as I slowly handed her the babies.
"Thank you, Alice. You won't," She said.
As I looked through the duffel bag, I realized that I was only wearing a night gown under the cloak. So I found us both underwear and bras. A white T-Shirt and ripped skinny jeans, was for her. I put the bra and underwear on underneath the night gown, then wrapped the cloak around me pulling the hood over my head. I held the babies as she got dressed.
"I see you noticed my eye," She said.
It made me wish I still had the ability to read minds.
"Yes, I did. What happened," I asked.
"Well, the night Tate was attacked, My mate, Ty-Ohni, took me with him to Kane's mansion. He got me alone, and he was just so mad... Ty-Ohni seen me talking to Tate, and he didn't like that. He knows I don't truly love him. So, he thinks I will leave him for someone else. He turned into his wolf form, which is triggered mainly by anger. He attacked me, and he scratched my face. He changed back when he realized what he'd done, but it didn't bother him. He said 'Well now I won't have to worry about you looking at other guys, and other guys looking at you," She stopped after she finished getting dressed.
"Then what?" I asked her.
"Well, if it wasn't for Sophia, I would have a big scar on my face," She said.
"Well, Kane would hurt her sometimes too. So, she knows how to heal things like that. Both of them will get what's coming to them," I said.
"As for now, let's get you and the little one's to safety," She said.
"So where's this place at?" I asked.
"Not that far. Just tell the man at the desk that LuLu sent you. LuLu is a code word I use for emergencies. The man is my lover, his name is Caleb. He owns the motel. I wish to be with him, but Ty-Ohni would kill him if he knew. So, I know what it's like to not be able to be with the one you love. I wish I could stay tonight, but Ty-Ohni will be looking for me," She explained.
"You and Caleb should come with me tomorrow," I said.
"I don't know. We will talk about this in the morning. Let's go," She said as she picked up the duffel bag and led me down a few more alleys.
I followed her, while holding the now sleeping babies. We rounded a corner, and found a large glowing sign that said Ravenswood Motel. I turned towards Luna, and she hugged me. She handed me the duffle bag, then reached for something above her ear.
"Remember to tell Caleb that LuLu sent you, and ask for room seven. It's where I go to hide from Ty-Ohni to be with Caleb. There is a spell on it. It is for protection and to hide any beings scent," She said as she handed me two joints.
I looked at the joints in my hands, then back up at Luna in confusion.
"I'll see you tomorrow. Get some rest, and we'll go to the bus station, to take you where you need to go. As for the joints, one is for you, and the other one is for my lover. Farewell, Alice," She said as she tucked the joints in my ears.
I watched as she ran off on two feet, jumped on to a roof, and then disappeared. I headed towards the motel front door, which opened on its own, and approached the desk to find a beautiful man. He had blonde hair, the perfect jaw line, and green eyes that reminded me of Tate.
"Can I help you Miss?" He asked.
I looked at his name tag. It was Caleb.
"Caleb?" I asked.
He nodded.
"LuLu sent me, and she gave me this for you you," I said as I pulled one of the joints from behind my ear and handed it to him.
"So, you're a friend of Luna's?" He asked.
"Yes. She will be here in the morning, but she told me to ask you for room seven," I said.
"I can tell this is important, here take the room key. Go outside, to the right, and three doors down. I'd hurry, because three cars just pulled up. Keep your hood up, your head low, and don't speak to them," Caleb said.
I mouthed the words 'thank you' to him, before exiting the lobby. The cold air hit me, as I walked outside. I looked down at the sleeping babies, when I seen the three car doors open. I walked past them, and one of them bumped into me. I still couldn't sense who or what they were, so I kept walking.
"Sorry Miss, I hope I didn't hurt you or your babies," A somewhat familiar voice said.
I didn't want to find out who it was, so I ignored them and kept walking. After opening the door to my room, I quickly locked the door behind me. I sighed a breath of relief, as I looked down at the babies. Both were still asleep. I took the chance to look around the room. There was two beds, a desk, a TV stand, and a private bathroom in the back. I laid the babies on the bed furthest away from the front door. Then took a seat on the other bed.
I sat the room key and joint on the bedside table, before opening one duffel bag, and pulled out a blood bag. My fangs elongated as I pulled the tube up to my mouth. It was empty within a few seconds. After I finished another bag, I threw blood bags into the trash can next to the bed. Just then the joint caught my eye, and I stared at it for a while. I've never done any drugs before, but she must have given it to me for some reason.
I searched the bedside table's drawer for a lighter, and found one in a hidden compartment. I lit the joint, and leaned back on the bed. Suddenly, I noticed the writing on the joint. It said 'In with the good, Out with the bad'. I started to feel myself drift away a little more with every drag I took. After dying it out, I fell into a deep, long needed sleep.
