Manik Malhotra- Lives in Delhi married to Nandini Doctor by profession for him his first priority is save people life treating the patients after this everything comes her wife and daughter also.

Nandini Malhotra- She is wife of manik a down to earth lady, she is also doctor by profession and for her also first priority is her profession everything else is secondary

Ashi Malhotra- 5 years old daughter of Manik and Nandini she is cutieepie and apple of eye of manik and Nandini

Nandini(sad+ sacred)- Manik the Corona virus cases are increasing day by day.

Manik(sadly)- Nandini I know the situation is getting outoff control, daily there are about 2000+ new patients of Corona virus.

Nandini- Yes, manik, I just hope we get the vaccine soon.

Manik- yehh even I hope the same, But till the time we didn't get the vaccine we have to do our work our duty.

Nandini(dtermined)- Yes, manik you are right it's not the time to be sacred . Its time to do our duty . As a doctor it's our duty to save person life in any condition and we will do that.

Manik(determined)- Definitely

When they were talking the peon came "telling them that Dr.shashank is calling Dr.nandini as there is an emergency" so she just rushed there while manik also goes from there to attend some other patients.

Hustle bustle was going on inside the ward the lady is laying on ventilator , She came to hospital 3 days back, after doing the covid test she was found positive , and right now she is having problem in breathing, oxygen pipe has been attached to her mouth, still she is not able to breathe properly, then only Nandini enters in the room wearing her PPE kits properly covering herself, she came forward to the patient and she saw her conditions it was serious so all doctors started to do there work while giving them oxygen and some injection filled with medicines, Nandini was pressing her chest so she could breathe properly ,but nothing happened slowly slowly she started to loose her breath ,her heartbeat became low,she started to take deep breath her heartbeats become low and at last she stopped breathing....

Nurse- we lost her ......

Nandini just closes her eyes, her eyes became teary because in this day it is there 15th patient of Corona virus they have lost and the day is just started. For the first time she is feeling that she is not the worth of being a doctor, as daily she is seeing people dying in front of her and she is not able do anything...

After sanitizing herself properly she goes towards her cabin and sits on her chair closing her eyes after some half and hour manik enters in the cabin and looked Nandini sitting on chair with dull face . Manik closes the door with the sound of door Nandini opens her eyes and found manik there, manik goes towards her

Manik- what happened Nandini you are not looking good

Nandini(feeling low)- Manik I don't know, Its not happening It just for the first time I m felling that I am not worthy of being a doctor

Manik- and what made u think like this

Nandini- Manik you know n our doctor is to save the lives of people and the day has just started and we already lost 15 patients. Manik Its so heartbreaking to see all this and the worst part is we can't do anything it's so bad (she had tears while talking all this)

Manik- why are u thinking all this Nandini and who said we are not doing anything, we are giving our 100%, we are giving our day and night to this and I know it's very hard to see people dying in front of us, but u could look the positive side also

Nandini(dejected)- what is positive in this manik

Manik- look u said from the morning we have lost 15 patients but did u see that more than 100 patients are also recovered (smilingly) ,why are you looking at negative side Nandini just look at the positive side (pulling her cheeks) where is my positive Nandini

Nandini(determined) - yehh manik u are right the recovery rate is higher that's the positive side , now I just hope that we get the vaccine soon.

Manik just smiles looking at her😊

And finally the day passed right know they are going back to their house its around 10 at night when there shift got over and they just entered the house when there daughter Ashi came running and shouting Mamma papa and she was smiling but both manik and Nandini showed her hand to stop her there itself

Nandini- nancy (the nany of there daughter) take her to room and I told u when we come back don't let her to meet us

Manik- yes nancy just take her up

Ashi(sadly)- mamma papa no meet

Manan looks at her as her eyes beacame teary but they can't take her in their arms, they can't rub her tears they are also felling bad but they have to do that only for there baby.

Manik (standing far away from her)- no mamma papa wants to meet baby it's just we are just came back from hospital n and we are dirty so first we have to take bath then we will play with ashi what's say Nandini

Nandini- yess ashi u just go with nancy didi we are coming there itself in few minutes

Ashi nodding her positively with sad expressions goes with Nancy to her room while manan goes to their room and they took the bath properly sanitizing themselves throughly when Nandini spoke

Nandini- manik I m thinking to send ashi to Mom house for few days

Manik- why?

Nandini- manik first of all we are not able to give her proper time whole day she is here alone if she will go there at least we don't have worry more as there will be mom to take care of her, and secondly and the most important one manik daily we are dealing with corno virus patient I m just scared I don't want my baby to get anything

Manik(thinking for a minute)- you are right Nandini we should send her there you know Nandini I m even sacred to take her in arms , I don't know but I fell if by mistake I have touched something or I can spread the virus to her .I am so scared I think you are right we should send her there tomorrow itself.

Nandini- hmm manik I understand I also go through the same I just want my baby to save and for that we have to live without her for few days and we can do this for our baby right

Manik- yess are right come let's talk to the ashi about that

Manan goes to ashi room and found her to be sitting on bed with sad expressions manan came and sit beside her while manik signal nancy to go out

Manik- so my baby is still angry with me

Ashi nods her head cutely

Nandini- she is angry with momma also

Ashi(toddler voice)- yes ashi is angry with u both as you both didn't let ashi to hug you , I missed u so much whole day still u showed me the hand to stop me I m angry

Nandini- I m sorry bachha you know n mamma came back from hospital and she is dirty if she would have hugged ashi so ashi would also became dirty thats I stopped you

Manik- and ashi u know we both have surprise for u

Ashi eyes shined listening to the surprise she asked papa what is ashi surprise

Manik- so ashi surprise is her favourite chocolates

Ashi- chocolates wow!! papa intne sare chocolates I love u papa very much and she hugs manik tightly

Nandini- u only love papa n

Ashi- no I love mama also I love u both and she hugged both of them

Manan- we also love ashi so much kissing her on either sides of cheek

Manik looks at Nandini and told her speak Nandini nods her head in positive

Nandini- ashi we have one more surprise

Ashi- one more what's is tell me fast

Nandini- so the surprise is tomorrow you are to your Nani house

Ashi(excitedly)- nani ke ghar yippee papa mamma ashi is. Very happy we all will go to nani house tomorrow and we will have fun

Manik- ashi listen to me bacha not we only you are going to nani house for few days

Ashi(sadly)- why you both are not coming I won't go without you

Nandini(taking ashi in her lap)- listen to me ashi and tell me don't you get bored sitting alone in the house when we are not home

Ashi nods her head

Nandini- that's why toh we are saying You go and live with nani for some days and have fun and as soon as we finish our work we will come to pick you and then after that mama papa and ashi will go to the snow park what say

Ashi(thinking for some time)- ohkk but only for few days then you both will come to pick me up

Manan- done deal

Manik- our ashi has became very intelligent she listen to mama and papa easily

Ashi- yess ashi is very Intelligent

After that they spend some time with ashi and slept with her only ashi in the middle and manik and Nandini neither side cuddling her completley. Next morning the trio get ready first there are going to drop ashi at her nani place then they will go the hospital . They reached to ashi nani place they enter inside Nandini mother is sitting there waiting for them as they already informed her , ashi runs inside the house shouting nani and manan enters behind her ashi runs and hugged her nani giving her the kiss while she found the the teddy there so she started to play with her . Nandini went and hugged her mother while manik touched her feet

Nandini- Maa I have packed every necessary thing of ashi in this bag

Nandini mother- hmm and tell me you both how are you

Manik- we are fine Maa just take care of her.

Nandini Mother- don't worry manik she is gonna enjoy here.

Nandini- ohkk Maa now we will take a leave our working hour is going to start

Nandini Mother- why so early first eat something

Nandini - maa we had our breakfast then only we came here.

Nandini kneels down in front of ashi and tells her

Nandini- ashi we are going ohkk be a good girl aur nani ko jayda tang mat krna thik hai and she kisses her forehead ashi became sad listening that they are going

Manik also sits- ashi u know papa and mama loves u alot it just the matter of few days than we are gonna live together like old days now give be biggy smile

Ashi smiles a bit manik says not this one a big one so he started to tickle her and she started to laugh out loud manan smiles looking at her they both just pray for her happiness

Nandini- and ashi one more thing , don't be stubborn don't say nani to take u out you know n out it is not safe now and also wash your hands properly every 20 minutes like I told you ohkk bacha

Ashi- yess mama I will be the good girl

Manan smiles at her amd hugs her one more time and they stands up and give ashi to her nani and and ashi started play with her teddy and than they both said that they are leaving now

Nandini Mother- listen I know u both are doctors and you both will do your duties without even thinking of yourself but just remember both of you take care of yourself and remember that there is Your daughter waiting for you.

Manan blinks there eyes and gave last glance to ashi finally they both took the leave and they reached to hospital and started to there work ....

Few days passed but the patients are just increasing day by day and there workload is also increasing now even they don't have time to go to there house they are giving there day and night to the hospital if they got some free time they used to sleep at any corner they found. Around 12 -15 hours in a day they are in there PPE kits and looking to the patients. They used to talk ashi daily as they promised her and everytime ashi asked them when they are gonna come they just used to say very soon.

1st June 2020

It's been a month they dropped ashi to Nandini Mother but still they are not free ,as the corona virus is spreading rapidly now . Now they are receiving around 6000 + patients daily there hospital is full with Corona virus patient, they are working non stop like robots they lacking hospital beds they are having shortage ventilators,they don't have time to sleep even there working like robots and it's been 1 week they haven't talked to ashi as they don't have the time and talking to ashi is to far they don't have time to talk among themselves as whole day they are busy and even for half an hour and 15 minutes they got free n , they use to sleep or eat they are sacrificing there time there rest there time there everything.....

8th june 2020

From past few days Nandini is not feeling well she is having tiredness whole in her body even she is having a very bad throat ache Nandini was sitting in the stairs closing her eyes when manik saw her and he goes towards her

Manik- Nandini are u fine baby

Nandini opens her eyes and looks manik, her face is dull full of tiredness her eyes has lost the shine still she smile looking at her manik and say- yess manik I m fine it just I m tired I will be fine don't take tension

Manik- No You are not looking fine Nandini let's do one go to home and take rest I will manage everything here don't make yourself ill just look at ur face it has become so pale

Nandini- are u mad manik do even know what you are saying You are saying me to go home and take rest leaving the patient dying over here you know that the situation is too serious you are saying me to take rest manik

Manik- I know what I m saying Nandini don't make urself overburden please I am not able to see you like this and I am sacred Nandini I can't loose you

Nandini- don't be sacred manik and you are not loosing me I will take medicine and I will be fine ohkk

Manik- ohkk but still take care of yourself

One more day passed but Nandini health became more worsed she got the high fever she was admitted and going to check for Corona she was in the isolated room laying one the bed when manik came wearing full ppe kit they both look each other and Nandini give him a slight smile but she cannot see manik face as it is full covered but she knows he would definitely having the tears in his eyes so she nods her head in negative and tells her not to cry. He looks at her and takes her blood sample for the test and leaves the room.

Next day her reports came and she was found positive of covid she has been shifted in the corona patients ward she is been covered fully in plastic polyethene and her treatment got started but manik haven't meet her till know when he came to know about her being positive he was in ICU doing some operation but he didn't stopped he completed his work and after that also he was busy with Corona virus patients whole day he was busy looking to the patients. At night he just got free first thing he did is to run towards Nandini room to look her .

He enters in her ward looks her she was packed in polythene oxygen mask was attached she was sleeping due to seductive and he was looking at her without even moving a inch his eyes were full of tears to looking at her lady who worked day and night without even thinking of herself, when she knows that she is diabetic and her immunity system is also weak still she doesn't back out from duty she gave her 100% knowing that if somehow she get positive her chance of survival would be very low still she worked worked hard and she proved the saying true today that "A doctor is never off duty just like a soldier "

Few more days passed and Nandini was giving all sort of treatment manik was specially taking care of her, but from last night Manik was also not feeling good so he tested himself for covid and make himself isolated so that none of her staff members get transmitted if he found positive. Next day his reports came and he also found positive of covid and he was also shifted isolated in room packed in polythene giving the treatments and worst part is now that they are not able to see each other as they both are in different rooms and there treatments were going on.

Manik is health was also not good he was having a severe body pain and throat ache and Nandini health is getting worst day by day she is not able to breathe properly so she was giving breathe giving the support of ventilator. Manik came to know about that and he was determined to meet her but he was not allowed he requested them but they all refused as he himself is positive of covid and it will be not good for health

While in Nandini health there was no improvement she is been shifted to ICU she is on ventilator , when she heard some talks from outside

(Dr. Shashank was taking on phone saying that they urgently need one ventilator as the lady she is pregnant and having breathing problem but all the hospitals ventilators are full)

Nandini heard all the talks and she called the doctor inside

Dr.shashank- you called Nandini howz u I hope you are doing well

Nandini- Doctor I heard ur talks what was that u need ventilators urgently

Dr.shashank-yess Nandini you are right it just there is no vaccant ventilators available and there is lady who is 9 month pregnant and she has Corona and she is not able to breathe properly

Nandini- Sir, give her this ventilator

Dr.shashank- Nandini what are saying you don't have to do this we have called them and they even said they are sending the ventilators u just take care of urself and I m sure you are gonna be fine

Nandini- Sir, whom you are kidding I m also a doctor and I know the chance's of my survival is null my body is not responding to the medicine properly and I just occupying this ventilator there is no use to waste this ventilator on me when you know my chances of surviving is very else, so at least the one person who needs this more than me and we know that her chances of surviving is also higher than me can use it , you don't have waste the ventilator on me when u know I am gonna die sooner or later

Dr.shashank- Nandini are u sure about this

Nandini(determined face )- yes doctor 100%

Dr.shashank nods his head in positive and called the peon to make Nandini shift in other room when Nandini was getting shifted

Dr.shashank said "Nandini today you proved that duty is more important than ur life an I m very proud of you and don't take tension I just received the message that they arranged the ventilators it will be here anytime just don't loose hope" and Nandini just smiles looking at him and she was shifted in other room she was layed on the bed oxygen pipe attached to her and she just took a name of one person that was "Manik"

While manik was sleeping suddenly he felt Nandini is calling him he became restless and he called the nurse inside and asked her

Manik- tell me howz Nandini

Nurse got mummed listening to this she was not giving him the answer

Manik(shouting)- I asked you something tell me hows is Nandini she called me right

Nurse- Sir, Mam'm is shifted in isolated ward she is fine for now

Manik- why isolated ward she is having breathing problem she has to be in ICU and then why she is not there

Nurse- Mam'm said so and then she told everything what Nandini said

Manik just closes her eyes tears were coming he just got up from bed and started to leave the room

Nurse- sir you are not allowed to go out

Manik- just shut up and he runs towards Nandini cabin

he reached to the ward were she was, so he just enters the room and looked at Nandini she was laying her face was pale oxygen pipe was attached

Nandini looked at him and give the slight smile both were just looking each other without blinking there eyes both there eyes were full of tears they were standing far away still can feel what the other one is going through manik took some small step and came forward both manik came sits beside her and hugged her tightly and they both started to cry loudly

Manik closes his eyes- Nandini we won't be able to fulfill ashi promise

Nandin icrying - yess manik we broke ashi promise that we will always with her and the worst thing is that we can't even see or touch her

Manik just hugged her tight and said now she has live without us and I m sure she will make us proud Nandini

Nandini- yes manik she will and she should and she satrted breathing heavily

Manik- are u fine Nandini and he started to check her even he himself started to feel pain all over body his throat was aching badly

Nandini- Manik Last kiss

"Manik looks at her and they both just kissed they both know its gonna be there last kiss and kissed each other slowly making to feel every moment and they started to remember there journey that how the became one when they got married and for the first time they took ashi in their hand it was most blissfull moment of there life and today they can't even see there baby " finally they broke the kiss and looked each other

Manik - Nandini I loved everything thing every moment we spent together and I have no issues if I am dying I m happy with fact before dying I was able save so many lives ...I have just one regret that I was able to see my baby last time

Nandini- yes manik I just wish to meet her last time kiss her cuddle her tell her that we both love u ashi take care of urself mamma nd papa will always with you

Manik just sigh looked at Nandini as she was loosing the breath she was not able to speak properly she just layed on bed and gave indication to manik to lay beside her manik did the same manik layed beside her and Nandini hugged him tightly and they both wasn't speaking anything just feeling each other presence

After an hour Dr.shashank enter in the room and said manik and Nandini the ventilators are here but when he looked up and he found that manik and Nandini are not there ...its just there body..Yess they died they died in each other arms...They sacrificed there life while serving for there country.
