Aries

Blake filled up my tank for me like a gentlemen. I was grinning like a plonker the entire time and still can't stop.

"Hey, Aries," he says, a little nervously. "Can I have your phone number?"

"Sure," I reply and reach for my phone before I remember I left it at home. "Um, well, I don't have my phone right now," I said awkwardly. "But I can put my number in yours." He gives me an old 5s and I wince inwardly, suddenly glad I didn't have my brand-new IPhone 7 with me. It was another one of those reminders that now everyone has rich parents to buy them the latest technology and their own apartment. Most people my age have to split rent with someone and have a roommate. I typed my number and my name and with a burst of bravery, added a heart besides it.

Thankfully, he smiles when he sees it and texts me hi.

"You know I don't have my phone with me," I add stupidly.  Thankfully, he grins.

"It's so you have something to look forwards to when you get home." I grin again, and fight the impulse to hug him. Am I allowed to, since we're soulmates? Or is it weird because we just met? I don't feel like we've just met, I realized. I feel like I've known him forever, like a best friend.

"Well, um, bye I guess," I said, staring at my shoes. Why do I have to sound so stupid all the time? I looked up almost shyly. "I'm actually glad I was forgetful and ran out of gas." He beams back at me.

"Me too." Blake gets in his car, and I get on my Vespa, and we drive side by side until we get to the main road, where we part ways.
