Week 21

The following day Jocelyn woke up early. She got up and got dressed. She grabbed her purse and went into the great room. No one was awake in the house at 7:25 am. She walked outside. She saw that Zane's SUV was still parked at the side of her home. She went to it and opened up the door. His keys were where he always kept them- in the ignition. She climbed into it and took off toward town.

The first place she stopped was Lowe's. She went in and got several shades of paint. Plus, she got tarps, paintbrushes, paint pans, ladders, and edgers. She paid the store to deliver it.

Next, she went to an infant store. She chose four different infant room designs. The first set chose a bleach blond crib color. With a blue truck on it for Charles' room. Then she got to a dresser/changing table/ nightstand and toy box, also in the bleach blond color. The drawers were in primary colors, with the knobs being various Tonka trucks. This would blend in excellently with the pastel blue wall paint she chose.

She decided to paint Davis' room an off-white color. In his room, she decided to go with a dinosaur theme. The crib, dresser, and toy chest were dark walnuts, with the handles being various dinosaurs. She accented it with a light green and cream color with splashes of burnt orange.

She had chosen a pastel green for Guinevere's room. She decided to accent it with ivory edging. She wore an ivory color, crib, dresser, and toy box. I decided to go with a pink elephant theme here. She also added pink elephant knobs. She chose pink curtains and a lamp. Then added, a chandelier light.

In the last room, Elizabeth's room, she went with a pastel grey color wall. The crib, dressers, end table, and toy box were white. Then she decided to go with purple accents of butterflies and flowers. These knobs were various type es of flowers. She arranged for the furniture to be delivered.

She went to a car dealership and bought her a minivan. She arranged for Zane's vehicle to be sent back to the pack. She drove out of the dealership and decided she was hungry. She went to a diner, and as she walked in, she saw Hutton, Scott, and Zander walking into the restaurant. When Hutton made eye contact with her, he walked over to her. He looked around and asked, "Where is your security detail, Jocelyn."

She looked at him, surprised when Scott and Zander approached them. They two looked around but said nothing. She sighed, "I walked out of the house while they all were still sleeping." They all growled. She looked at them, "I decided I wanted to get stuff for the pups. I need to get their rooms ready. Don't you growl at me? You are not my alpha, parents, or mate. Well, thank goodness you're not my mate. He was a total jackass."

Hutton looked at her, "you don't know?"

"Know what?"

"Never mind. How about we get something to eat? Then contact your security detail."

"How did you know about my security detail?"

Scott said, "After yesterday, I think everyone knows you. You made some powerful enemies of the old werewolf council, which is why you're supposed to be with security. Plus, we are part of the council but haven't been introduced yet."

"Well, I am not going home until I finish shopping. But I have to eat first. Then I must pick up the stroller, car seats, and highchairs I ordered.  I have a lot to do. I have to get ready for the pups."

Hutton replied, "We will be your security and escort you back home after you're done shopping."

They went inside and ordered their meals. Scott called Elder Zephyr to report where Jocelyn was. He said, "She is in her room. We checked in on her, and she is asleep."

Scott said, "You better check again. She is sitting right beside us eating lunch."

A few minutes later, Quinn called, "Where the hell is she? That is Cynthia sleeping in her bed."

Scott said, "Calm down." He rolled his eyes, "who is this?"

"This is Quinn. I am supposed to be part of her security if she leaves the house. Why did she leave without waking us up to go with her?"

Scott replied, "Based on all the shopping she did this morning. I think she is going into the nesting phase. We will be with her while she eats and when she finishes her shopping. Then we will escort her home."

Quinn said, "Be thankful that Elder Zephyr speaks highly of you guys. She better get home safe, or I swear I will make your life hell."

Scott started laughing. Then hung up. "Your friend is funny. She threatened to make our life hell."

Jocelyn grinned and said, "You underestimate the powers of fairies."

Scott said, "You expect me to believe they can do anything to us, Lycan?"

Jocelyn said, "After we pick up the order at Baby World, let's stop at the drugstore. Let me run in and grab some things. I will prove to you that they can. If they do, then you will spend this week painting the pup's rooms since I cannot do it."

Scott replied, "When I win, what do I get?"

Hutton said, "remember her pups?"

Scott said, "I do. I was going to invite Tautianna over. You make a romantic meal for us. One that I have to heat up."

Zander said, "I love homemade sweets. You make me a gallon container of sweets once a month for the next year. This will start after the pups are born and the doctor clears you."

Hutton said, "How about we just go to the library, and you read me a book of my choosing."

Jocelyn said, "A book within reason. I won't read porn or horror-type books."

Hutton said, "ok, you read me a book that you don't find the genre offensive or negative."

She grins at them, "Before we go to my house, we stop at your house to paint clothes, and I get to use your restroom to prepare for the meeting of Quinn. But we will contact the Lycan guard; they will tell the elves and Elder Zephyr so that you won't get attacked by anyone else in the house besides my fairy guards."

Scott said, "I will contact the Lycan guard and Elder. They can inform anyone but the Fairy Guard."

Jocelyn grins big. Just then, the pups start to kick. She grabs Hutton and Zander's hands since they sit beside her. She puts their hands on top of the movement. Their eyes get big. She looks at Scott and asks, "Do you want to feel them?" He gets up and feels them.

The waitress comes over, "Who's the proud poppa?"

Jocelyn grins and says, "They are the proud uncles. Can we get our bill? We got to go get the rest of their stuff." She handed them their bill, and Scott said, "this is my treat."

They headed out to their cars. Zander went with her. Then Hutton and Scott followed. When they got to Baby's World. Jocelyn went into the store, followed by Zander. She did not see the other two. When Zander saw what she was getting, he asked, "Why the rainbow of colors?"

I will have helped the first few weeks, so I am color-coding them. This way, we don't have to reset the car seat straps whenever they put a pup inside them. Charles is blue, Guinevere is green, Elizabeth is red, and Davis is yellow. They are all 4 in 1 go as you-grow car seats with a 10-year warranty. They will start as infants and later convert them to booster seats."

We walked outside the store and saw Hutton and Scott carrying out several bags of items. Jocelyn looked at them and asked, "What did you get?"

Scott answered, "Well, as their uncles arranged a year's supply of diapers to be delivered. They will mail them to you once every week other week compliments of Uncle Zander. Uncle Hutton chooses several outfits, which are in all these bags. Since I am the fun uncle, I got them an outdoor play set."

"You didn't have to do that."

Scott replied, "That's what uncle does." Then went and put the bags into his car while the store associate loaded up the stroller and installed each car seat.

While they were installing the car seat, Jocelyn and Hutton walked into the drug store to get what supplies Jocelyn wanted. Then they went to their packhouse. The guys went and grabbed clothes they could paint in. At the same time, Jocelyn went into the restroom and applied makeup and bandage. She looked slightly bruised. The guys came down and saw her. At first, they panicked, and when they realized it was just makeup, they calmed down.

Scott said, "You think a little makeup will upset the fairies?"

She smirked and said, "I guarantee it.

They laughed and drove over to Jocelyn's house. They saw Georgette and Tiana outside with Goliath and Solomon. Georgette looked at it, "if I did not know it was fake, I would be upset. Now let's go inside, and I will run ahead and get ice to set the stage."

Goliath smirked and looked at his mate, "I think we should carry her in."

Solomon stepped forward and swooped her in his arms. He chuckled and asked, "Is this your idea?"

Jocelyn smirked at him, "Only after he scoffed at fairies not being able to protect me."

That is how Jocelyn got three Lycan to paint the infant rooms, but others helped while laughing at the memory of Quinn, Winn, and Tundra, seeing their friend bruised while under the Lycan's care. They went from being human size to becoming super small and hitting all three of them at once below the belt. Then when they were wallowing on the ground in pain, they all ended up with a black eye. Plus, several bruises until Jocelyn made them stop. Georgette handed them each ice pack before they helped paint.
