Week 20

Jocelyn woke up from her nap that afternoon. She walked into the restroom and took a shower. She did blow dry her hair. She then got dressed in a black hi-low maternity dress. It had a 'V' neck and short sleeves about 3 inches over the arm. She then added black ballet shoes. She braided her hair down the back. She just added some lipgloss. Then she entered the kitchen, where she saw Cynthia, Quinn, Winn, Tundra, Tianna, and Charlotte. They had made some soup and sandwiches, and she ate it more for the pups than herself.

When we were done eating, it was 7:30 pm. We all walked and climbed into Cynthia's vehicle. We drove to the Green Valley Pack. When we got there, my brothers were there to meet us. Since Jocelyn could not run due to her pregnancy, she was escorted to a special carriage. Her friends climbed in with her. Then it was pulled by two dapples while her brothers steered it.

We go to the memorial grounds. Landon helped her down and escorted her where we could see many wolves sitting around the pond. She looked up and could see the full moon rising. We watched it grow until we could hear the march coming.

We all gradually turned toward the sound. The first in view was Alpha Solomon. Behind him, eight warriors were carrying a decorated raft with Beta Zane's body on top. Jocelyn had tears running down her face. He had been her friend. He showed support through it all. She saw his parents and siblings following the warriors. The alpha stepped aside, and the warriors continued the march to the pond. He indicated for the beta's family to sit in the chairs.

The warriors walked into the water and gently set the raft down, poured some oil onto him, and pushed the raft toward the pond's center. Then marched out of the water and shifted into their wolves. You saw their clothes shred and went to join their families.

Alpha Solomon spoke, "Beta Zane and I grew up together. He was my best friend. " He looked at Zane's family, "I know when we were pups, we would worry our parents with some of the stunts they knew about. We were about six or seven when we saw the movies Home Alone and the sequels. His Dad and mine got called away on business. One of the wolf councils stopped by the house late at night to drop off papers. He was a stranger who came marching into our home.

His mom laughed, "I remember that day." She wiped a tear.

He looked around and said, "Elder Rachet is here today." Elder Rachet nodded his head in response. "We heard it took almost two weeks to get that gummy concoction we made out of your hair. "

Several wolves snickered at that memory. "Though Dad did not appreciate getting home that night and hitting one of our traps. We were each glad, Mom was able to calm him down."

Dad replied, "Your mom said she felt that bag when it swung down and hit my head; it might have knocked some sense into me."

"Then, in high school, we took the other school's mascot and changed their real lion for a kitten. Then flew the lion to a sanctuary where it could live its cage-free life."

His dad replied, "That was you guys? I even defended you guys."

"Zane snagged the lion, and I helped him get to the sanctuary. When his truck broke down." His dad just shook his head.

"He came up with the idea of the treehouse. Then fell out of the treehouse and broke his arm. We had many adventures together."

Then he got quiet. "He died doing what was right. He died defending a she-wolf who was a Luna of another pack. He died with honor, and we all will miss you." He then nodded at one of the warriors. The warrior marched over and picked up a torch. Three warriors stepped forward with their bows and arrows. They aimed, and the wolf with the torch lit each arrow. Then three flaming arrows were released and soared through the sky. All three landed in the raft, and the raft was engulfed in flames.

His family started howling, and soon everyone joined in while we watched the raft burn until it sank out of view."
