Light's POV

"Did you find her yet?" My father asked Matsuda. "No, sir. Not yet." He answered. "Well, keep looking! We can't let her leave!" He yelled. "But, sir, we've already looked all over the buidling. She's nowhere to be found." Matsuda explained.

"Then, search the city! Don't let her slip away! Search every door if you have to!" Dad ordered. "Where could Ryoko have gone if she's already left the building? Did she go back to her house?" I asked. "Now that would sound too easy. She would've known we were going to go look for her there. Ryoko would have to find someplace to hide, someplace safe." Ryuzaki said.

"So, a place where she could lie low for a while, someplace where she'd least expect us to look." I replied. "But the question is: Where?" Ryuzaki asked before sipping his coffee. I rested a hand on my chin, wondering where Ryoko could've gone.

Ryoko's POV

I walked around the city wearing a dark hoodie and some dark shades so my appearance would be unrecognizable. I had stolen a handbag from a nearby store so I could carry Gelus in it. "What are you doing now, Ryoko?" He asked.

"I have to lay low. The guys back at HQ should've realized I'm gone by now and they must be looking for me. There's no way in hell I'm going back there. Or the hospital." I said as I walked. "Then, can I give you some advice, Ryoko?" Rem asked.

"Sure, go ahead." I said. "If you don't want to get caught, I say you do something about your appearance." She said. "My appearance?" I repeated. "Yeah. They're looking for a girl with black hair, right? But not someone who-

"Someone who doesn't have black hair." I finished her sentence for her. "Hmm..." I went into a store and bought some hair dye, a pair of scissors, some new clothes, brown colored contact lenses, and a pair of glasses.

After I got that stuff, I went into a public bathroom and cut my hair, then dyed it blonde. When I was done dying my hair, I got changed into the clothes and put on my glasses, along with my  brown contact lenses. "You look great." Gelus commented.

"I look ridiculous." I said, bluntly. I sighed to myself and threw away the stray hair. I put on my black jacket and pulled the hood over my head. "I need someplace to lay low for a while." I said while Gelus was in my bag and Rem and Ryuk were following me.

"Why not check into a hotel?" Ryuk suggested. "You know how much it would costs to stay in a hotel? Besides, I don't have the money." I said. "So, what are you gonna do?" Rem asked. "Lie low for a while. In the meantime, you should go back to Light and Misa so they won't get suspicious of anything." I said.

"But what about you?" Ryuk asked. "Don't worry about me. I'll think of something before they find me. Besides, I have Gelus with me, so I'll be alright." I said. "Okay, but be careful." Rem said. "I will. See you guys in a bit." I said.

Rem and Ryuk nodded before heading off. "Let's go, Gelus." I said. I began to walk forward.

I walked for about an hour and I was starting to feel a bit hungry. I saw a small restaurant ahead and I had just enough money to buy a milkshake. "Let's stop here for a minute." I said to Gelus. "Okay." He agreed.

We got a table outside and ordered a vanilla milkshake. "Hey, Gelus. Have you ever had a milkshake before?" I asked. "No, is it any good?" He asked. "Of course. It's the best. Here try some." I said, placing him in my lap.

He grabbed the straw and took a sip from the shake. "It taste funny." Gelus mentioned. "What does it taste like to you?" I asked. "Not like death, that's for sure." He answered. I laughed at his comment until I spotted Matsuda and Light's dad.

"Shit. We gotta go." I said. I left money on the table and put Gelus in my bag before leaving the restaurant. "You gotta find a place to stay before it gets too dark." Gelus said. "I know, but where could I stay?" I asked.

I searched all around the city, trying to find a place to stay for the night, but I didn't find anything. My only other option was stay hidden in an alley. I walked into an alleyway until I was out sight from the entrance.

"Looks like we'll be spending the night here, Gelus." I said as I sat against the wall. "That's fine. I just don't want you to get hurt." He said. "Don't worry, I won't. Hardly anyone comes down this alleyway." I said. I gave a slight yawn and leaned against the wall, closing my eyes.

After a few minutes, I fell asleep.

3rd Person's POV

While Ryoko and Gelus was hidden away, Ryuk and Rem did their jobs as they didn't say a word about Ryoko. Ryuk made sure Light, L, and the detectives blindly look for Ryoko. He distracted them by telling them false locations where Ryoko might be at.

As for Rem, she accompanied Misa as she searched everything about Light Yagami. It was no doubt that she had developed a crush on him, seeing how she worshipped him. But to Ryoko's knowledge, she didn't know that Light was Kira. But she will soon figure it out.
