Twenty-Seven

[Sara's PoV]
Everyone was in stunned silence, and someone was pulling Levi onto their horse. "I'll take him back to base. I'm probably the least experienced, so you won't miss me," I say.
"No way, what if you meet a Titan on the way?" Eren protests.
"I'll be fine, Isayama's fast." Isayama trots over, nudging me with his nose. I take his reins without looking away.
"I'll go with you, just in case." Eren starts trotting towards me.
"No, they need all the people they can get."
"Then you shouldn't leave either."
"D*mmit, Jaeger, Levi can't ride back! And how good would we be if we lost him? He's probably half of the talent in our group. So I'll take him back to the base. No arguments." I got up onto my horse, motioning for the person to give Levi to me.
I look to see who it actually is, but their face is concealed by their hood. Emotionless black eyes show, however, and I assume it's Mikasa. I take Levi, putting him on the saddle in front of me.
I move the reins over his head so I can control them better. "Good luck!" I called, then kicked Isayama to go forward.
About halfway to the wall, Levi groans a little, moving. He's leaning on my arm now. He opens his eyes slowly, but not all the way. "Isa...bel?"
"Hm? Who's that?" I push Isayama faster, as I hear Titan footsteps.
"What... happened? I thought... you were dead..."
And now he's hallucinating. Great. "Be quiet. It won't help your pain to talk."
He begins to say something, then groans and passes out again. I find myself hoping he'll be completely fine.
After a few more minutes, I arrive at the wall.
"Eh? Where's the rest of the squad?" the man there says. I realize he's the one who threatened me at the courthouse.
"I'm the only one coming back now. Open the gates or I'll have to beat you up like you did me," I say threateningly.
He grumbles something about "children these days being brats", but tells his superior to open the gate. The stone gate grinds open, seemingly at the pace of an injured horse.
When there's enough room to slip past, I kick Isayama forward. He bolts through, and I almost hit my head on the gate, but we get past.
The Garrison soldier yells in surprise as we tear past him. I bolt towards the base, which is in a secluded area.
