Seventy-Six
[Eren Jaeger's PoV]
I wake up shaking. Why did I have that dream? Sara would never do that.
Or would she?
The darkest part of my mind says she would. But she wouldn't. Even though I'm almost completely sure, I decide to go and assure myself that she wouldn't.
I look outside and see that it's completely dark. Screw darkness, I'm checking in on Sara. I practically run to her room, I'm walking so fast.
I open the door, looking in. She's laying on her bed, her arm hanging off the side and exposed because of the shirt she wears at night. She moans softly, shifting a little.
She looks peaceful, but judging by the way her eyes shot open and she bolted up, she did not have a good dream. "Sh*t!" she yells as she somehow loses her balance and falls on the floor.
"Stupid dream," she growls. It seems like she still hasn't noticed me; she's been looking down this whole time. She gets back on her feet, looking up. "Eren?"
"Hi..."
"Did you have a nightmare?" she says, a smirk on her face.
"Yeah..." I say sheepishly.
"C'mere," she beckons. I walk to her, and she wraps her arms around me. "What happened?"
"Petra dragged me to your room, and you were hanging from your ceiling. There was a note, and it... It was so sad. It made me scared." I rest my chin on the top of her head and my arms around her shoulders.
"Don't worry. I wouldn't do that," she assures me.
"I know, I just... I just wanted to make sure."
"It's okay," she says. "It's just human to have dreams, and even more human to have bad ones."
I nod in understanding. "I know," I repeat, moving my head so that it's laying on her shoulder. "In the dream, in the note, you said you loved me," I whisper. "Do you?"
"Of course I do," she responds quietly, her hand moving up to gently stroke my hair. "Why wouldn't I?"
"Because I'm a Titan," I say, my voice becoming quiet at the end of the sentence.
"I don't care about your Titan abilities. They're helpful," she says assuredly. "You're perfect..."
"Thank you..." I murmur into her hair, which is spilling over her shoulders and down her back. "You're perfect, too, and I love you."
"Thank you," she mumbles, still running her fingers through my hair soothingly.
