I stop at a lake. Time to take my human form again. I shift and look at the moon. I fold my hands and sigh. "Why did you make him my mate? Wasn't he suffering enough? I will be gone after the war. We made a deal about that. How can you put him through something like that again?" My voice is shaking. "I don't want to hurt Eli." The wind strokes my hair and I nod. "I understand, but I can't let him go through it again. Give me something to work with. Please. I beg you." Another wind blow stroking my hair. I nod again. "Thank you." I stand up and shift into a wolf again. Running back to the others. I can't look Eli in the eyes without telling him what He told me. Eli has to confess his true feelings to me to save me from my deal and I am not allowed to tell him anything. It's gonna be hard to keep my mouth shut. I jump back through the window and shifting back to human at the same time. "Had a nice walk?" Eli is sitting in his bed. He is reading a book. He throws a knife to me that I catch with two hands just to look cool, but he throws another knife. That knife lands in my leg and wounds me. "Impressive. Vanessa also got me with a distraction. You knew I was getting cocky didn't you?" Eli gives me a smile and nods. He throws something else at me to. A little box with weird looking strings. "It's a phone and earplugs. You can listen music and watch video's. When you're really bored, you can play games and you can call us when you are to far away to send your thoughts." I nod and smile. "Thanks. Can you help me with it?" He laughs and taps on his bed. I take place next to him and he explains everything. He shows me video's and lets me listen to his favorite music. I feel totally normal. We watch video's all night. Eli falls asleep when the sun starts rising. I look at him and smile. A blue notebook catches my eye. I open it and close it immediately. It is a journal. I am very tempted to read it, but I won't. I let my fingers go through Eli his hair and sigh. The night goes by andeveryone starts waking up. I haven't slept all night. Someone knocks on the door and I open it. "Hey Alice, we have a little issue." It's Will and he looks worried. "What's wrong?" Will grabs my hand and he only says one thing. "Alex." I start running in front of him. Keal opens the door before I am even close to the door and Alex lays in bed. "What happened to her?" I place a hand on her head. She has a big fever. Deadly. No one answers my question. "What happened?!" My voice is very angry and loud. Everyone steps away from me. I hear a crow in the tree next to the window. "Close all windows except this one." Will and Vanessa leave the room and ask more people to help them. I walk over to the window and jump in the tree. I catch the crow and I snap his neck. "We need a new base. This one is to risky. They know this place and that gives them a big advantage. Alex is lucky that I am here now, otherwise she would've been dead." I place my hand on her forehead and mumble a spell in Latin.
