CHAPTER 22

I lifted my shirt to observe my wound. I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around to see who it was.

I turned around and Luka was standing there. His smile quickly faded to a concerned look as he entered my room. He couldn't have seen my wound, right?

"Marientte, are you hurt?" Luka asked. Shit, what do I tell him now? I need to make a half-assed excuse. I can't tell him the truth fully aware how he would react.

"I just fell down. It's not a biggie, haha." I wasn't able to see his eyes, because if we locked our eyes he would know.

"You fell down and got that wound?" he asked, skeptically. It was clear that he didn't believe a word I said.

"Well-It was a pretty hard fall," I managed, scratching my arm.

"Wait, that was me wasn't it?" His voice was slowly rising in pitch as realization kicked in.

"Oh- No no! That wasn't you. It was just clumsy ol' me. I fell down trying to go to my house," I said.

He shook his head and grimaced. "Marienette, I'm so sorry for hurting you."

Damn it he keeps on seeing through all my lies. "Luka, don't worry, you were under the spell."

"No, I'm really sorry Marientte. If I was stronger, I wouldn't have gotten under the spell. I'm so glad Cat Noir was able to save you," he said, giving me a tight-lipped smile.

"Yeah..." I said.

"Did you get your wound checked up?"

"Oh yeah definitely! They said that this was a common occurrence!" I just laughed awkwardly.

"I'm also sorry that I just barged in without knocking first," he said.

"Oh, it's totally fine!" I said laughing.

I really am a mess.

"Uh-Ok," he said and he started chuckling.

"By the way, Adrien called me when I was coming here and he said that we should go to the movies. He invited Alya, Nino, Kagami and me. I hope you don't mind."

I was happy that we could go to the movies, but Adrien and Kagami only brought trouble.

"Uh-Yeah sure! I don't mind at all!" I said with a big smile.

"Oh thanks, I thought you would only want to go with Adrien," he said.

I awkwardly laughed at his comment.

"Well, either way I have to go now, but if you don't feel good you can just call me and I'll come," he said and gave me a smile. He headed for the door.

"Oh ok!" I said. I waved at him.

"You know, Ladybug was also stabbed by someone," he said,

"Oh wow! Really?" I asked, trying to act surprised.

"Yeah, it reminded me of the wound you have," he questioned to himself and shook his head.

"Oh haha!" I said, trying not to panic.

"Well I guess I'll see you on Saturday," Luka said.

"Wait.." I said.

I stood up and strode up to him. I took a deep breath before standing on tiptoes. This was my only chance to prove to Luka that I actually cared about him. Luka acted surprised, but I didn't give him the time to think before I crashed my mouth into his. I grabbed his hair and pulled him closer. He looked surprised but kissed me back. We pulled away, breathing deeply.

"Well see you on saturday or earlier," he said and winked at me.

I was really confused but as soon as he left, Sass came from behind my back and said, "Marinette, that was disgusting. I told you, everything happens for a reason."

"Oh stop it!" I said laughing.

"Marinette, the wound does not look normal, it's supposed to be closed by now and the only thing that it's doing is changing colors, not normal colours," Sass said with a concerned face.

"Yeah, I can see that," I said.

"Well I missed Luka," Sass said giggling.

"You did?" I asked giggling.

"Yeah, even if we never really had a long conversation he seems like a nice person," Sass said with a smile on his face.

"Yeah, he is," I said smiling.

"Well either way, I don't want you to die here on the floor so you need to see Master Fu right now," Sass said.

"Well about that.. I think we have to leave it for later, I need to have dinner and then meet up with Cat Noir."

"Ugh.. If I get in trouble it's your fault," Sass said, annoyed.

"Yeah yeah," I said, trying to annoy Sass.

"Let's go have dinner Sass," I said.

I ate quickly and my parents let me go to bed early since they thought I was tired. They soon went to bed and I waited a little longer for them to actually fall asleep.

"So are you going to transform?" Sass asked.

"Yes," I said.
