Chapter 4

Marinettes's Perspective

I couldn't believe my eyes.

What was he doing here?

I saw the blue haired boy that I had my history with.

"Oh... h-hey Marinette, I didn't know you were with... Adrien," he said with a strained smile.

Luka was a really good friend of mine and I never get nervous around him like I do with Adrien.

"Hey Luka!" I called, happily, forgetting that Adrien was present.

Adrien gave Luka a smile. "Well, we were going to buy some bandaids for Manon" said Adrien with a smile on his face

"Oh ok, can I come with you guys?" asked Luka.

"Yeah, sure come with us," I said.

We walked, I was between Adrien and Luka.

We were talking about Jagged Stone and his great music. It was interesting that we had different music tastes. I was enjoying the conversation when all of a sudden I felt my skin grazing Adrien's hands. Shit

I could feel my face heating up. Adrien didn't seem to notice and continued walking. Until I felt that he did the same thing to me. I stopped breathing

I turned around to face him, but he just gave me his signature warm smile. I turned around as fast as I could and air re-entered my lungs again.

He did it on purpose didn't he.

Oh no, was I blushing? ! I hope I wasn't.

After a few minutes we arrived at the pharmacy and a young woman was there.

"Hello, my name is Sage, I'm the pharmacist!" she said, wearing the biggest smile on her face.

We all greeted her and smiled back.

"So what can I help you with?" she asked.

"We need some bandaids for a little girl," I told her.

"All right, I'll be right back." She walked opposite of us and went into a room that we couldn't see.

While we waited we talked about our classes and the amount of work we had. I accidentally dropped my purse and Luka helped me pick up the coins that fell.

While Luka and I were picking up the coins, Sage came back with a little bandaid box and said, "Here I'll give it to your boyfriend since you're picking up your coins." 

I felt everybody's breath deepening and going very still when she handed the bandages to Adrien.

Adrien silently took the box and gave a shy smile.

"Thank you, Sage," he said, awkwardly scratching the back of his neck.

Why didn't he say anything about us.

I turned around to see Luka and his face looked like he was about to explode from laughter.

I jokingly pushed Luka while he was still on the ground. Luka just giggled and we both stood up.

Adrien was standing there looking stiff and fidgeting, I really don't know why he looked like he was dying to go to the bathroom.

Adrien's Perspective

I can't believe I didn't say anything and plus she's just a very good friend of mine, so why am I feeling nervous, it's only Mari.

"So let's go?" I asked.

I heard plagg giggling inside of my jacket.

"Uh sure!" Marinette said, snatching the box from my hands and running outside the pharmacy. I looked at Luka confused and he just shrugged and smiled at me.

We said goodbye to Sage and we headed outside.

When both Luka and I went outside we saw someone very familiar in front of Marinette with a smirk on her face

Marinettes's Perspective

Lie-La.

"Oh my! What a surprise it is to see one of my closest friends here!" she said.

"Umm hey." I replied.

"Anyways what are you--" Lila said, then stopped talking.

I prayed it was not who I thought it was and turned around, but of course;

Adrien had to come out now with Luka.

"Oh my! Adrien!! What surprise!" Lila went running to Adrien and gave him a hug. Honestly this bitch can't even switch what she says, she just said the same thing to me.

While Lila hugged Adrien, Adrien slowly moved back.

I went next to Luka who was standing next to Adrien.

Luka looked at me and said, "I like your outfit, Marinette."

"Oh thanks, Luka," I smiled at him.

Luka abruptly lost his balance and tripped.

Adrien was the one that tripped him.

Luka and I laughed as Adrien was mouthing, "Help me guys!"

I grabbed Lila's arm, pulling her away from Adrien. I pretended to be good friends with her, but she looked at me with a face of disgust.

"Ugh! What do you want pig-tails!?" she screamed.

Luka and Adrien gasped and they were coming to me, but I held up a hand and stopped them. I wasn't going to waste my time with her.

"First of all Lie-la, you yourself have twin pigtails," I replied without missing a beat.

I looked over to the boys who were laughing at my remarks.

"Second, don't pretend to be my friend just to get closer to my friends," I said, with a clearly fake smile.

Lila looked at me completely shocked.

"And third, ask people if you can hug them before actually hugging them. It's called consent and boundaries," I said.

You could see that Lila was fuming, but she deserved it for trying to manipulate my friends.

"Whatever, pig-tails," Lila said while she quickly walked the other way; finally

leaving us all alone.

"Wow good job Marinette!" said Adrien as if he was proud

Luka just smiled at me

We decided to go to my house, so that we could all see "cute" Manon.

I really didn't know what I was going to use as an excuse, but I'm sure I'll come up with something.

We arrived close to my house and I pretended to pick up the phone.

"Hey Mom!... Oh really?! Well we were just... but the bandaids.. Alright we're almost here!" I said.

"What's wrong?" asked Luka.

"Nothing, my mom just said that Manon left with her mom," I replied.

Adrien and Luka both laughed.

"So we went to the pharmacy for nothing?" he asked.

"Ye-" I said before Adrien cut me off.

"No.. um.. This way Marinette can have band aids if she needs them," Adrien said, while smiling profusely at me.

I don't really know what that was all for.

"Alright do you guys want to go inside?" I asked. "We can play some video games."

"Sure!" they simultaneously replied.

The three of us laughed.

We were going inside until we heard a woman's voice.

"Adrien," she said.

Adrien's Perspective

Fuck how did she know I'm here?

"Umm.. hi, Nathalie," I said, nervously scratching the back of my neck.

I looked over at Marinette and I realised that she was staring at Nathalie in a weird way.

"Adrien, you were supposed to be home eating dinner with your father 27 minutes ago," she said, her tone and face expressionless.

"Well, he's never there anyways," I mumbled, feeling upset.

I turned to my friends and tried a smile that didn't quite reach my eyes. "Well I guess I'll see you another day Luka, and I'll see you tomorrow Marinette." I waved them goodbye and got in the car.

Marinettes's Perspective 19:30PM

I saw how Adrien got into his car, he looked like a caged cat.

"I-I, Adrien!" I yelled after him, but he had already left.

"It's ok Marinette, I can go if you want," Luka said, putting his hands on my shoulder.

"It's alright, I have to go now either way, I have some designs to get to," I replied, giving him a small smile.

"Alright then, I'll text you later. Bye, Marinette!" he said.

I entered the bakery and headed straight to my room. My parents weren't home for some reason.

Before I could even lie down Tikki said, "Marinette! Did you see that?!"

"See what?" I said, sadly.

"Oh my Marinette! You are not as blonde as Adrien-- I mean.. Nevermind hehe!"

"What does Adrien have to do with this?" I asked.

"Well, he didn't say a word when Sage called him your boyfriend!" she said.

I laughed and sat on my chair to start working on some designs.

"Yeah, but he only sees me as a 'good friend,' Tikki" I giggled.

I yawned and said, "Anyways Tikki, lets go to bed, I'm really tired"

"But you didn't have dinner!" she said.

"It's alright Tikki, I'm not hungry, here you can have some cookies," I said while handing her the cookie box.

While I changed into my pjs I saw how cutely Tikki ate her cookies.

I honestly don't know what I would have done without her, she's so sweet and nice.

"Goodnight Tikki," I said while giving a kiss on the forehead.

"Goodnight Marinette!" she replied while stuffing cookies in her mouth.

I turned off the light and closed my eyes.

I was prepared to sleep, but a thought entered my head about what Adrien had said.

He says I'm his friend, but he doesn't object when people think we're together.

I fell asleep after thinking about that, but I was only half-asleep.

I was drowsy, but I could hear a muffled voice talking with Tikki.

But I just couldn't wake up, I was so tired.
