"Austin, don't do this. I've known you my whole..."

"Shut up! Just shut up. I don't want to do this to you, Justin. I don't want to at all, but I have to. We need the money."

"Money? YOU'RE DOING THIS FOR MONEY?! You already have so much money Austin, WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!" 

I try turning around

"You turn around and I'll blow a hole right through your head. Try me."

*Pushes gun deeper against my head*

"Okay, OK! I'll play this game of yours. What do you want me to do?"

Blake is running around the park so happily. I really like seeing her smile. Mom is running late, again. She's always never around. Blake should get her hair dyed, her natural black-brown color doesn't look bad but maybe a light blue? Nah, she'd look like an anime character. Maybe a dark brown color? I don't know...

I wake up with my vision blurry and my ears ringing. I can't move, but I'm moving. *Distant voices and car horns*  Wait, I'm in a car, I think in the boot. In a box. I'm in a box, in the boot, in a car, that's moving, somewhere. What? How could...Austin? I'm sure there is something bigger at play here. Austin would never do this. For money? But He's rich! Ugh, I need to get out of here quickly. Wait, dad could help, But I need to whisper so they can't hear me. My neck and my head hurt, what happened? 

"Dad!"

"Justin, we're in trouble."

"No shit, I thought I was going to a surprise party." 

"You really pick the worst time to try and be sarcastic."

"If I'm asleep, can you still hear or see what happens?"

"Well, your eyes are my eyes so I can't see when you're asleep or unconscious, but If you're unconscious or asleep, I can still hear everything."

"What Happened to me?"

"Austin isn't human. Well, it's a lot to explain."

"Just talk!"

"Austin's Parents made a deal with the devil, to receive money and eternal life. To do this, they need to kill 1 virgin, every year. The devil really wants you in hell, so when word got to him that you were at Austin's house, he told them that if they bring you to a sacrificial altar and kill you, they won't have to kill anyone for the next 5 years."

"Am I that important?"

"You're more important than you'll ever realize. You just haven't seen it yet"

*Box crashes against the back of the car boot*

My conversation with dad was stopped real quick when the car came to a quick stop. I can hear distant voices. They're coming closer. I try calling my shadows but nothing happens.

"Dad, why does my neck hurt and why can't I use my shadows?"

"They injected you with a toxin which dampers your powers. You're useless right now." 

Fuck! Think! What can I do? I'm fucked. 

"You know I can hear what you're saying in your head?"

"This is not the time!"

"I don't know how long the toxin lasts, I'm sorry I can't help."

I hear the car boot open up. They're taking me somewhere. I get carried for, I would say 10  minutes before they put me down. I hear the sounds of a crackling fire and the sound of crickets and an owl hooing. I don't know where I am. Wait, I can hear someone coming.

*"Open it"*

Someone smashed the box open with a crowbar, hitting me over the head. I'm not knocked out, just a little dizzy. I see who has the crowbar, Austin.

"Austin, you need to set up the altar, I'll take care of this one over here."

"Dad, do we really have to kill Austin? I don't want to do it. We've been friends for years and I...I CAN'T DO IT!"

*Slap*

"Get your shit together! If we don't do this you know our family is Fucked! Your mother, Myself, You, all fucked! So get your shit together and set up the altar!"

Austin's dad walks towards me, picks me up, and starts to beat me unconcious.

*Black*

*"All-mighty Satan, We come before you today to sacrifice this one...Boy! Here our cries lord Satan!"*

I wake up with fire surrounding me, Austin's father in front of me, and Austin right in front of me, with a knife. I'm chained down to a wheel made of wood, like a pig about to be thrown with a knife for entertainment. I feel better, stronger like I just recovered from a sickness. Does it mean...

"I think you can use your powers Justin."

Well then let's get out of here. I scream...

"SHADOWS RELEASE ME!"

My shadows jump out of my body as if they were a coiled spring. My shadows break the chains and lift me up onto my feet. I look directly at Austin's Father, he stops his little satanic prayer. I look at Austin.

"This is between your father and I. Run before I change my mind."

Austin runs awaym then I look at the father.

"This is not gonna end well for you."

"Bring it Satan's spawn! I'll cut you down where you stand!"

Austins father whips out a pen that magically turns into a long sword.

"I guess this is going to be more interesting than I thought!"
