It was cold and dark night, the only light came from some street lights. A family was walking home from the market. There was a boy, named Shu who was 7 and girl Name Mai who was 6, their last name was yukkie. Their parents Lai and Kei Were holding their hands as they walk down the street.

      "Well, well, well look what the cat dragged in" a guy walked out from the shadows " hello Kie long time no see old friend."

       " I wouldn't call us friend Mark, how did you find us" Kie and Lai pushed the kids behind them.

      " Remember if you have "The Gift" we can track you"

     " Kei" Lai screamed Mark's partner, John, had grabbed her from behind and had a knife to her throat.

    " Come with us to the demon king and we won't kill her "  John grubble loudly. Kei was speechless.

   " Kei don't, even if you go with them they will kill me any way." Lai struggled 

    " Ohh, shut up you stupid angel you know nothing of our kind" he griped the knife even more tightly

     " Don't listen to the angle we won't kill her" Mark smile.

     " Oops" Lai drop to the ground dead with her throat slit "I guess I was hold the knife to close to her throat."

     "Lai" Kei dropped to his knees and was holding his wife, " you basterd how could you."

     " Mommy" Mai clung to her brother.

     "  Oh, look the descendants "John walked towards them and swung the knife but kei got up and took the blow instead.

      " You idiot we needed that pure hearted demon to be alive for the master" Mark grabbed John by the collar as he yelled.

       " Dad" Shu screamed both Mai and  Shu both dropped to their dad sides.

       " Mai, Shu, run to your grandparents house and tell them what happened here. And take these packages " He reached into one of his inner jacket pocket, pulled out two large and long packages and handed one to each of us . "Open them when you two are alone together tonight and always keep them with you wherever you go. Now hurry." And with that final sentence he let out his last breath of air.

       " Daddy" Mai screamed as she tremble with the package in hand. By now John and Mark should Have stop fighting But they were now pummeling each other.

       " Mai we need to get out of here, their fighting probably won't keep up much longer," Shu stood up and extended his hand to her. She took it, stood up and started running with Shu still holding hands. So they don't lose each other.

            After  ten blocks of running they came to their grandparents house on top of millon hill. They told them what happened, their grandparents told them that there mom was a very powerful angel and their dad was a very powerful demon, who possessed "The gift". "The Gift"was a gift that only pure hearted demons get and the had the right to rule Hell. But the chosen prince, Hades,  thought that it wasn't right that the next ruler of Hell didnt have "The Gift", so he tried to kill him but their dad fled Hell and met their mom. Over the years they fell in love and had them. They also told them that they were half  demon, half angel and that is why they were call the descendants.

           Late that night they both were in the same room and after their grandparents left and thought they were asleep. Shu Got out of bed, grab his package,and sat on Mai's bed while She sat up. Mai then grabbed her package from under her bed and faced her brother.

         " Should we start opening them" Mai broke the silence.

          "Yeah, we should," Shu mumbled and they both started opening them. In both was a sword. They both were very similar like in size, shape, and blade but the cases and handles were different, Mai's handle was mostly blood red with black in the middle.She also had a case black with red flames. Shu's was the opposite he had a handle that was mostly black with red in the middle and his case was red with black flames.

            At the bottom of both boxes was a case and a letter. Both of their note said the samething:

       Dear my children,

           If you are reading this then they probably found and killed me. I am so sorry if you saw that, you to are very special in so many ways.

          In the future, you will face one big problem, since you two are hybrid you are half angel, half demon. But you probably already know this from your grandparents. But you are wondering what the problem i'm talking about is. Well, when I was younger I was blessed with a demon power called "The Gift" It's a gift that enables the demon who has it to take the unique power that a pacific demon has. Since I had you it got passed down to when i died. Now you guys have it, you also have other powers from your demon and angel that are triggered by certain thoughts.

       To trigger some of your power you want you must think of it and concentrate on it, but you must use a certain half, your demon or your Angel half. Also there is a power that combined when you were born,, your wings, both your demon and angel wings combined. So they are fast and silent like a demon's and strong like angel's.

      your powers are:
      speed, tracking, flight, incapacitate, silence, element power,  your unique power and since you guys are twins, you have the link power.

    " Wow, that explains everything" Mai whispered softly

         " Yeah, it does" Shu whispered in agreement," what do you think is in the boxes we got."

         " I don't know, let's open them and find out" Mai opened the lid of the box inside was a necklace with With a gem that looked like a yin and yang sign but instead of being black and white, it was red and black. Shu had the same stone as her but his was in a ring.

         " Look" Shu turned his ring to reveal "Two of two protectors" etched in at the base of it.

         "Hey, look" Mai tuned over the gem to reavile the base. Etched was "One of two protectors", " I wonder what would happen if they touched"

         " I rather not try to find out " Shu put on his ring, got up,put his and Mai's stuff away, and crawled back into bed.

            " Yeah, your probably right" Mai flipped the cover back over her," good night, Shu."

            " Good night" at that they when to sleep.

                 Over the next seven years they mastered all of  their skill and nothing happend . But when they turned thirteen and fourteen, the chaos started and they started having to use their powers for combat. So now up to this day they are known as...
