Chapter 14: Daigo
HI!!! The really good part's coming up! As soon as Daigo cheats in the tournament, things are actually going to start happening! Hope you love this!
Doomscyther worked him mercilessly, forcing him through several hundred launches, pushups, situps, and several mile runs. Fortunately, he kept to the forest, sparing Daigo the humiliation of everyone seeing him.
While this was happening, he was again thinking about Takumi. How did he deal with it, especially when he was the one putting himself through even harder training?
"Good question," Doomscyther replied, starting to try to jump from tree to tree and failing. He seemed to not notice the five and a half foot fall, but Daigo hissed as his leg crumpled. "I think it's because Takumi was feeling unnoticed, so he got stronger to be noticed. Unfortunately, it didn't work." Doomscyther tried the jump again and succeeded. "Better. Stopping control in three, two ,one." He released control, and a wave of exhaustion washed over him. Daigo fell from the tree, barely managing to not land on his head. Doomscyther told him the time, 7:00. "TIme to get back home, Daigo. And you have to jog. And do it on your own. Because I'm pretty tired of having a weak trainer."
With a grunt, the raven-haired boy hauled himself to his feet, regretting it in about two seconds as he started to get dizzy. "Doomscyther, you are evil."
"I know. Best not talk to me now, or you'll seem crazy." He smirked at that.
Daigo grumbled something rude and started jogging out. When he got through the park, he stayed closer to the river. He saw Shu launching, and Toko and Nika closer. Nika waved her arms at Shu, accidentally tripping on the stairs. She fell onto Shu's arm, just as he pulled the launch cord. Shu inhaled sharply and twisted to see who it was.
Daigo turned his head back in front just in time to avoid a telephone pole.
The next person he saw, as he turned down an alley for a short cut, was Robin. She was dressed in all black leather, skin tight, and a black hoodie. She was walking with her head down, the only reason he knew it was her. "Robin?"
She whipped around, pulling a pocket knife out of her pocket. "Thief, if you take one step closer, you'll lose your fing-- oh, Daigo, it's you."
"Yeah." He watched the knife warily. "I don't like pointy things. Could you put that away?"
"What? Oh, sure." Robin carefully placed the knife back in her pocket. "What are you doing here? I thought you were at home?"
Daigo, make this fast. If you're not done in one minute, you'll run the whole thing at a sprint again.
Daigo sent back a few choice words, then spoke to Robin. "I was training late." Pretty true, because his bey was using his body. He was still really tired, but felt stronger.
"Noted."
Daigo started feeling a bit suspicious. "Where were you headed? You obviously don't want to be seen."
Robin hesitated. "I'm not... not going anywhere."
"You're a terrible liar."
Enjoy your time, Kurogami! You're going back and sprinting the whole thing!
Save it. No way.
You were warned. I can literally torture you right now instead, if you prefer. It's easy, when I have access to your nervous system.
"If you tell anyone, Daigo, well, please dont." She was quiet, likely trying to decide what to say. "Maybe I'll tell you later."
But Doomscyther was already asking Ramos, who still liked the bey, unaware of the betrayal.
She's going to a fightclub, he reported, rolling his eyes. Ramos should just overtake her. It would be way more fun.
Daigo glared at the white-haired girl who looked so much like Robin. Robin would never agree to this. I mean, the fire Emblem Awakening one. Not this one, cause she agrees. "Seriously? A fightclub? That's not just crazy; it's stupid."
Robin looked like she was talking to Ramos. "Ramos told you? Naturally. So, yes I am, and you really can't stop me."
He tilted his head. "But why? Surely you don't need the money, and you probably still go to the Shakedera Dojo, so you don't need the thrill. Why?"
"That's a discussion for later," Robin decided. "Goodbye, Kurogami." She gave him a smile and disappeared.
Now do it again! Doomscyther yelled Now!
Daigo ran at a sprint all the way to the park and back. It was eight when he got home and truly dark. His parents, Sakura and Hayato cast him disapproving looks as he made his way through the apartment to his room. They were probably upset with him for coming home late-- he should've been back at five, and also, because he ditched the second half of classes.
And you won't do it again. Even if I make you work through the night, I'm not letting you arise people's suspicions.
I want some decent sleep, not just four hours. Tournament starts tomorrow, remember?
Too bad. I can make you do anything. And he meant anything. He had full access to his brain and it was a wonder he was still allowed to have a little control of himself. It probably made it more fun.
Daigo cursed under his breath as he entered his room. ANd paused.
Ryota was standing in the center of his room.
"Daigo, something is going on." The violet eyed boy stared at him unflinchingly. "And I want to know what."
OOOHHHHH!!! draaaaaama!!!!
CaN'T WAIT TO UPDATE TOMORROW!
sry, caps lock.
Robin out!
