Chapter 12: Robin
If you don't like seeing the music cliches, skip dis chapter, because lots of music cliches. Also, this will be significant later on, so just read the first half, then.
She was in her room of the apartment, putting her gi(a gi is a martial arts uniform) back in her bag while listening to music.
Without you, I feel cold
Like I'm half of a whole,
Without you, I've got no
Hand to hold.
Without you, I feel torn,
Like a sail in a storm.
Without you...
I'm just a sad song.
The music continued, and Robin stood up and stretched, glancing at the large poster of the real Robin, from Fire Emblem Awakening. Handsome hazel eyes, short white hair, and a slightly disoriented look that hid a brilliant tactical mind.
She couldn't have a crush on DAigo, because she was pretty sure she had a crush on her poster.
On one side of her room, she had a bed, dark purple and a large box were she kept her stuff. In the corner, behind her bed, but just in reach, was her phone, charging after a days use.
On the other side, was her poster of Azura, from Fire Emblem Fates. She basically died in each Fire Emblem scenario, which was sad, but she was basically the most powerful of the characters on Fates, and her power was literally enchanting people.
Under her Azura poster was a few plants, and a small closet. The closet had seven pairs of identical clothes to the one she had been wearing on the first day of school, plus well-polished boots sitting on the floor, and two dresses. As much as she hated those torture devices, because they showed, eh, growing up-ness, sometimes she needed to wear them on special occasions. In the corner of that side of the room was a pile of shiny seaglass Robin had found when her parents weren't always away.
Without you...
I'm just a sad song.
Robin started singing along.
"Without you, I feel torn, like a sail in a storm. Without you, I'm just a sad song. I'm just a sad song."
Robin closed her eyes, and when she opened them, a flyer blew in through the window (A/N Cliche, I know, but I'm a lazy author.)
It read: "Calling all Zac the Sunrise fans! By public demand, Zac will invite one person up to stage to sing with him! That lucky person will be the winner of his singing competition! Sign up here..."
Robin's heart beat faster. She grabbed her phone from the charging station, and logged into the chat room excitedly.
buy-Me-beybread: PLEASEE HELP ME WITH MY HOMEWORK SHUUUUU
Albino Child: You're on caps lock. And no, you have to learn to do math by yourself this time, alright.
buy-Me-beybread: BUT SHUUUUUUU...
-Nitecoregrl and Nitecoremo have joined the chat room-
Nitecoregrl: GUESS WUT! I JUST GOT A FLYER THAT SAYS THAT IF I WIN A SINGING COMPETITION I CAN SING WITH ZAC THE SUNSHINE.
Nitecoremo: I didnt know you were a Zac the Sunshine fan.
Nitecoregrl: I'm not, I just love singing.
-Ryota has joined the chat room-
Ryota: Ooh! If you win, you'll sing with Zac, right? Can you bring me... pleasse???
Nitecoregrl: Of course! Can I come over to practice?
Nitecoremo: Can I stop you?
Albin Child: Nope.
Nitecoregrl : The heck, Shu? I thought we made up?
Albino Child: Life's no fun without an enemy.
Nitecoregrl: That's what the BABY SHARKIE is for, right?
Albino Child:...
-Albino Child has left the chat room-
buy-Me-beybread: Someone explain???
Nitecoremo: No.
-Nitecoremo, Nitecoregrl, and Ryota have left the chat-
Robin snatched her phone and her backpack, and left the apartment.
When she got to Daigo's, he opened the door to his apartment. "Hey, Robin."
"Hey."
Awkward pause.
"So.. I'm just going to go in now, and end this weird pause and the dramatic music coming from my phone." Daigo laughed and let her in.
"Ryota, wanna listen to Robin practice?" Daigo asked as they reached his room.
Ryota put down his bey, Furious Fenrir, and bounced up. "Yeah!!!"
Robin took a deep breath. "I want to do this song." SHe loaded it up onto her phone and started singing.
It's been seventeen days since he left
Twenty hours and thirty minutes.
Count the seconds, every breath
And watch the road roll out like ribbons.
And maybe he just can't forget,
All the miles they have driven
Since the moment that he meant.
He took her heart, into his hands,
Turned into ashes, slipped through his fingers
It tore him apart, and he couldn't stand
Watching the magic turn into cinders.
This song was a love song, which Robin had tweaked a little, just changing a few he's to she's. I made the song even better. While she sang, she closed her eyes and imagined singing a true love song, just for Daigo. Just for him.
When she finished, they both applauded. "Impressive," Daigo commented.
"My turn, my turn!" Ryota called out. "Please?"
Robin grinned at him. "'Kay. What song?"
He bounced up and down. "Baby shark do do do do do do baby shark do do do do do do do-"
"Not that song," Daigo interrupted.
Ryota pouted. "Oh, alright." he went back to his room, and started playing with Fenrir.
"And why do you want to sing with Zac?" Daigo asked, searching up a Green Day song. (Guess!)
"Eh." Robin shrugged. "Guess I just want to give it a try."
Daigo found the song. "I'm really bad at this, but to make you feel better..."
Ryota came bouncing in. "Big brother! You've got this!"
I walk this empty street
On the boulevard of broken dreams
Where the city sleeps
And I'm the only one and I walk alone.
My shadows the only one that walks beside me
My shallow hearts the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there could find me
Till then I walk alone.
He stopped and blushed. Robin laughed. He was okay at singing, but was extremely insecure. Figures, Kurogami.
Ryota giggled. "That was great! My turn!"
He searched up a song.
It's always summer
Under the sea
I know, I know,
Oh, oh, oh
The birds have scales
And the fish take wing
I know I know,
Oh, oh, oh
The rain is dry,
And snow falls up
I know, I know,
Oh, oh, oh
Daigo frowned. "How do you know that song?"
"I was listening to you when you were watching game of thrones!" The boy tilted his head. "It's a very bloody movie."
Kurogami did a classic anime fall.
Robin groaned. "Goodbye, innocent Ryota."
Then she saw a spider. "Gaaahh! Spiiiiiider! Ahhhhh!"
Daigo rolled his eyes, and crushed it with his foot.
The violet eyed boy started crying. "Why'd you have to kill it?"
