Chapter 11: Daigo
I decided I'm adding the song lyrics, even though it's cliche. Most chapter with the lyrics, I'll let you know if you can skip, but the one with Lui versus RObin- trust me, that'l be good. Also, Robin can't swim.
Daigo was sitting with the rest of the beyclub, ordering ice cream at the park. Shu was in front of him. "Hi!" Valt said cheerfully. "May I have three scoops of chocolate?"
The ice cream guy stared at him, trying to decide whether he was serious. "Sure," he said, disappearing for a moment. He came back out with a big ice cream cone topped with a bunch of scoops.
"Thanks!" Valt grabbed it and bounced away.
"Hey!" the guy yelled after him. "You forgot to pay!"
Shu sighed. "Sorry about my friend," he said. "I'll pay for his."
The man nodded and took his order. "By the way," he said, returning with Shu's vanilla and strawberry, "I saw some fangirls practicing at the stadium over there. If you don't want to get mauled, stay away from there."
Shu nodded. Daigo stepped forwards. "Two mint chocolate chips, please."
The man nodded. THen he looked at him a little closer. "Wait, you're Daigo Kurogami, right?" Daigo nodded a yes. "Are you and the girl behind you dating?"
Daigo groaned. "We're just friends."
The man grinned. "Suure..." he said, stretching the 'u.'
Robin grinned so her canines showed and her blood-colored aura was visible to everyone. "Daigo and I as a couple is about as real as Valt and Wakiya. Basically," she leaned forward menacingly. The man gulped and got their ice cream ready as quickly as possible. "Not going to happen."
He nodded quickly and gave them the ice cream. "O-of course, my mistake."
Daigo smiled, amused, as Robin handed him ice cream. Robin was just perfect, but in a different way than those dumb glitter girls at school, the ones that were insecure and pleaded handsome boys for attention. No, Robin wasn't like that. She was strong and dangerous to be around, threatening and quick tongued, and an amazing bladers who's sanity was intact. Overall, a perfect person.
"Let's go to Wakiya's house!" Valt yelled almost as soon as they got to the table.
Shu facepalmed. "Valt, don't tell me you already finished your ice cream."
"Yep! Let's go!" he bounce to Wakiya. "Please, please, please???"
"Alright, fine!" Goldilocks got up, impatient. "But only if you stop yelling so much."
"OKAY! I CAN DO THAT!!!! COME ON, EVERYONE, LETS GOOOO!!!!" Everyone covered their ears.
Daigo finished his ice cream in record time, regretting it as he suddenly wasn't able to breathe. In a few seconds, he gasped, "Fine, we can... go..."
Honcho grinned. "Always wanted to raid a mansion! Thanks, Sonic!"
Valt tilted his head. "What's a Sonic?"
-timeskip, brought to you by Valt's innocentness-
Daigo had only been here once, when Wakiya had been showing off. Was it just him, but had the Murasaki mansion gotten a little more expensive?
Valt and Honcho were staring at everything in awe. Ken was trying to use Keru to bit Valt's headband off without him noticing. Robin was sneaking a few strong-looking launchers into her pocket. He almost laughed, then remembered he had a Goth/emo reputation to protect.
"Where's the stadium?" he asked Wakiya.
Wakiya nodded towards the room at the end of the hall, already yelling at Robin to keep her hands off his stuff. Robin turned out her pockets, smirking because there was nothing there.
Daigo noticed a launcher shape in her backpack, barely noticeable. He smirked. Goldilocks would never spot that.
Robin and Shu seemed on better terms today. Well, actually, there was less of a cold atmosphere around them that even Valt could sense. But maybe not. Valt was pretty dense.
"I WANT TO GO AGAINST SHU!" the smol bean bellowed with a voice three times his size. "PLEASE???"
Shu winced, leaning away from him. "What did Wakiya say about not screaming?"
"Oh, yeah. I guess I just got excited."
He smiled at Valt, and Daigo could see the albino's love for the innocent child in his eyes. "Don't worry. I'll still battle you."
Bet he'll let him win.
Not if Spryzen has anything to say about it.
Oh, yeah?
Yeah. Oh, wait, not anymore. He just agreed to go easier on him.
Admit it. I can be right.
Only sometimes.
Daigo watched as Spryzen was tossed into the air. "Storm Spryzen with a ring out finish!" he announced. "Victory Valtryek gets one point!"
Shu looked a bit confused, the way Robin had looked after losing to him several times.
Doomscyther, no.
You like Robin, don't you?
I have no idea what you mean.
You mean you never noticed how you were thinking about her earlier? Something about how she was... Perfect?
Daigo was saved from crushing the beyblade under his foot by Wakiya's shout. "Robin versus me!" he announced. Daigo refrained from rolling his eyes, and Shu made a face. Everyone knew Robin would win. She was just too good, coming up with counterstrategies before the match even ended.
Robin shrugged. "Okay." There was a glint in her eye that would make most other people nervous, but Wakiya was oblivious.
She settled into a launch position, a new one, apparently. Launcher tilted down, eyes closed, mimicking Shu's Blindfold launch, and part of his launch. Wakiya was in his Shield Crash postition, which would make it a lot harder for her, likely.
"Three!"
"Two!"
"One!"
"Let it... Rip!" Robin's eyes snapped open right after she launched, and grinned in satisfaction. "Perfect." Phoenix circled the outside and came in towards the middle.
She's bluffing, Doomscyther said to himself. That launch was really bad. Her Phoenix is steady enough, but it doesn't have any extra power like normal.
Wakiya snorted. "Wyvron! Shield crash!" Wyvron screamed in towards the middle, the spirits claws extended.
Strangely, Robin hummed a few bars of a song and said nothing. Wyvron missed, just slightly.
Robin murmured under her breath part of whatever she was humming. She made it sound like a spell, and it was so quiet only Daigo's ear would pick up on it.
They say I'm too young to understand.
They say I'm caught up in a dream.
Life will pass me by if i don't open up my eyes.
Well, that's fine by me.
Phoenix's tip started glowing slighly as it circled the inner ring, making little scratching noises of different pitches. "Now."
Wyvron came down for another pass, and on the second circle, Rise Phoenix slammed into it. After a few hard seconds of sparks, Wild Wyvron burst.
Daigo was pretty impressed. "Rise Phoenix with a burst finish. Robin Kurenai wins the match!"
Wakiya's jaw dropped. "W-what? My Shield Crash is unbeatable!"
Robin scooped up Phoenix. "Clearly, not that unbeatable, Murosaki." She flipped him off, then glanced at the others. It almost looked she was asking for their approval.
"ME NEXT!!!" Valt bellowed, bouncing up to the front. "PLEASE!!!"
Daigo covered his ears and was pretty sure he felt blood coming out of them.
Robin groaned and held out her hand in a stop gesture. Valt's mouth closed, and Daigo gratefully removed his hands from his ears. There was, surprisingly, no blood.
"Daigo, Honcho, and Ken haven't gotten a turn yet," she said. "You already had your turn."
Hancho stepped forward. "Hey Daigo!" he exclaimed. "This time, I'll beat you for sure."
"Yeah," he replied saractically. "That's really going to happen."
"Three!"
"Two!"
"One!"
"Let it... Rip!" he jumped forward, swinging his launcher like a scythe as it he released the bey. Doomscyther roared around the stadium with speed it rarely had before. Honcho blinked in surprise, but recovered fast. "Nothing'll stop us, now since we're in the middle!"
Daigo grinned savagely. "Let's see about that." Doomscyther crashed down from the edge, and Roktavor dodged easily.
He's laughing at me! Daigo's bey raged. Lemme at him!
Trust me on this, o great one.
"Ha! You can't even hit us!" Honcho laughed.
Doomscyther came in for another pass, but after it missed, curved around the inner circle super fast and smashed into Roktavor. "You were saying?"
Roktavor bounced off the inside of the stadium. "We're still in this!" Rantaro yelled. "After him!"
"Not a chance." Daigo spoke to Doomscyther as well as for everyone else. "Tear it apart."
Raging Roktavor burst.
Ken raised the hand with Keru on it. "Dark Doomscyther with a burst finish!" the blue puppet announced. "Daigo Kurogami wins the match with a score of two to zero."
Daigo grinned, with one of his scary smiles, and went to sit back down. As he closed his eyes, he saw Ryota's innocent face, without the adorable cat ears. I miss you brother! He had said.
Tomorrow, little brother, Daigo thought to Ryota. Tomorrow, you can finally come home.
YAAAAYYYY!!!! FInally I can get to that part!!!! YASSS!!!!
Robin out
