Echo's POV

I watch as my father talks to my new personal guard, Dark. I cant help but scoff silently, cause if hes like any of my other personal guards, hell be gone by the end of the day. But then a shrill whistle sounds through the air and before i can blink an arrow is sliced out of the air, Dark now in front of me, his sword drawn. His eyes dart around the courtyard before he takes flight and pulls someone out of the bushes. 

The person yelps as hes tossed to the ground, a crossbow tumbling out of his hands. My eyes widen at the sight of the weapon and my heart pounds in my chest. If dark hadnt moved as fast as he did, id have been a goner. I look up to see him staring at me with his deep red eyes. and the minute we make eye contact a new feeling wells up inside of me, a feeling im slightly familiar with. But this time its 20 times worse. Ive just fallen in love with my new personal guard. 

I can feel his gaze lingering on me as i turn to head back into the palace, cursing as the wind snatches my hat off from my head. Huffing i head to my room, flying in the middle of the spiral staircase. i get to the top of the northern tower and open my bedroom door, smiling as i land on my bed. The soft feathery down of the mattress helps me to relax. At least that is until a knock sounds from my door

I grumble as i get out of the bed and open the door, only to blush as i see dark there. Now that im really close to him i can see that he is much larger then me. His deep red eyes seem to bore into my soul as he lifts a hand. Dangling from the fingers of that hand is my hat, completely unscathed.

"Y-you brought me back my hat. But why, its not something your asked to do," I question, my amber-yellow eyes taking in his body. They stop at his stomach and i blush harder, trying nto to look to far down.

"Be that as it may, it just doesnt seem right for you to not have your complete outfit. Especially when you look cute in it," Having realized what he said, his face darkens as he blushes

I smile and put it on my head. "How about you come inside so we can get to know eachother." 

He smiles and nods excitedly, "yeah sure id love to."

I step out of the way so he can walk in, my heart pounding in my chest and a happy shiver makes it way up my spine as i head for my bed.
