Reader's POV

As I woke up, the headache greeted me like as if someone smashed my head and my whole body numb.

My eyes took a while before I could clearly see where I was. I was tied to a chair in an empty room and a camera at the corner.

I remembered why I was here in the first place, Haru betrayed me and brought me here.

The sudden betrayal hit me like a wrecking ball, destroying the trust I've built with him and all I had to sacrifice to follow his orders.

"You're finally awake." Haru entered the room with a smirked plastered on his face.

The drug injected in me was still taking effect and I couldn't think properly.

"You... you traitor..." My voice came out almost in a whisper when I expected to shout at him.

Haru find this amusing as he chuckled and knelt in front of me.

"You didn't know?" He asked me and I waited for him to continue his sentence as he walked around me. "I am the Joker Y/n."

I widen my eyes at the new information I've discovered and Haru stopped in front of me.

He raised my chin so I can look him into the eye and he grinned.

"And a Joker is the same as the Heart's game, it plays with your feelings then betray you at the end." I couldn't recognize him.

The Haru standing before me felt like a different person. I remember everything we did in the past.

All he said to me, all the things he did, sacrificing his life and helping me, was that all an act?

"Why... why are you doing this?" I managed to ask despite the fact that the drug was messing with my mind.

"Why?" He sent a slap and my cheek burnt. "You killed my brother, Hiro!"

He sent another slap and I couldn't do anything. I was helpless, so weak that I can't even untie myself from the rope.

It would be easy for me to escape if he didn't inject me with drugs.

"And you know what they say, an eye for an eye and a life for a life." He took out his dagger and pointed it on my neck as she grabbed my hair.

"Haru, that's enough!" Ketong entered the room and Haru groaned in annoyance.

"Yes father." And I was shock once again as I just found out Ketong was his father.

"They started a game in throughout the Beach, we need to go to the lobby now." Ketong said and Haru nodded

"See you next time Y/n." Haru smirked as the two of them left.

Son of a-

I tried escaping but the drug wasn't helping. I couldn't control my body properly and tears started falling down.

All I could think of was Chishiya. If the game did chose the Beach, then I won't have to worry about my visa and I hope that Chishiya is safe.

I was hoping that Haru won't go after him to get back to me, I hope that none of the people I love will get hurt just because I trusted the wrong guy.

I heard the AI speaking before I drifted away. I woke at the smell of something burning.

When I open my eyes, the room was filled with smoke. I coughed out as I inhaled the smoke.

"H-he...lp......" My voice came out as a whisper.

I still couldn't believe that Haru would do something like that and I would die here without saying goodbye to Chishiya.

Chishiya...

What a twisted fate we had, the Universe seems like it's doing everything it can to separate both of us.

All of the sudden, I felt nausea and I started vomiting. Not because I've inhaled too much smoke but my something inside my stomach felt weird.

"H-help!" I tried calling out again and this time, it was louder than before. "Somebody, please help..."

I felt myself dozing off again and I tried my best to stay awake. My sights began to blur as I coughed continously.

The door suddenly opened and whoever it was that just entered rushed towards me.

He injected something in me and that's when I felt my adrenaline going up.

The person began removing the rope around me and the drug started to wear off.

"Come on Y/n, we need to go!" I was shocked to find Haru helping me escape as he took one of my arms and put it around his neck.

"I know you don't trust me right now but you're gonna have to. I will even let you punch me after we get out of here." He said as he started dragging me with him.

My strength was starting to return and I matched his speed. As we turn around the corner, there's three guys who started shooting us.

Haru pushed me inside a room and let me down at the corner. He then waited at the door and when the three guys entered, he grabbed the gun and shot them.

"What are you doing?" I asked him as my normal voice was back to normal.

He looked at me with apologetic eyes before helping me up again.

"I'll explain everything later, for now we don't have time. They're coming for us." He answered.

"Why should I trust you again?" He gave me a smile, the usual smile he use to give back to when I still trust him.

"Let's just say... your boyfriend sent me."
