Puzzling Puzzles and Monstrous Monsters

We all looked at each other. Another problem had occurred, and nobody knew what to do.

"I think we should keep going." Integrity suggested. Everyone agreed. They didn't need me this time. So we walked out of the room, and saw a Froggit.

"Wait-is that the same Froggit from before?" Kindness asked, running over to pet it. The Froggit croaked.

"Ribbit Ribbit. (Yes it is, and for your KINDNESS I have told my Froggit Family to leave you alone and give you advice. Some monsters may try to attack you. If you act a certain way or fight until they are weakened, they may not want to fight you anymore. So please, human, grant them MERCY." Kindness nodded.

"Of course! I will never kill anyone!" He exclaimed. The Froggit looked doubtful. "Croak. (But you're friends...)" Kindness looked behind him.

Patience shook her head with Integrity. "I couldn't if I tried." Perseverance stated. I agreed with him. We all turned to stare at Bravery and Justice. They looked away. Froggit looked sad.

"Bark. (Please do not hurt my family.)" He looked sad. We could all see the shame on Bravery's face, but Justice looked blank.

"Okay! I wont, cuz you're nice!" Bravery exclaimed. The Froggit looked slightly happier.

"Wait-there are more of you?" Perseverance asked. "Ribbit Croak. (Of course. We are the Froggit family. There is the Whimsum family, the Vegetoid family, the Loox family, the Moldsmal family, and the Migosp family. Those family might attack you. But Migosp's are usually too busy dancing and might attack accidently. And Moldsmal's will only fight if you do not spare them. Napstablook comes from Waterfall almost everyday.)" Froggit replied. "Interesting..." Perseverance said, writing notes in the book he had brought along. Apparently it was a notepad. Suddenly, we got a call from Toriel. "Hello, children, I was wondering if you had left the room yet? I have not cleaned up lately and I wouldn't want you to get hurt." Before anyone could respond-she hung up. We continued to the room to the right.

There were spiderwebs attached to the wall. "Guys, look!" I said, pointing to the spiderwebs. "There's a note." The note read 'Please leave a donation' I looked around.

"Anyone got change?" I asked. Everyone looked in their pockets. "I do!" Integrity called, handing me a quarter. I put it in the spiderweb. Suddenly, a spider crawled out and handed me a doughnut. "Aww how cute!" I offered it to Integrity, but she refused. I slipped it into my pockets and continued walking. In the room above, there were 3 Froggits.

"Ribbit. (I see you have met my brother. He is very nice, but he skips through my words an doesn't even listen. Oh no-YOU'RE DOING IT TOO!)" The Froggit cried. We all laughed.

"Croak. (There are actually four Froggits in this room. My sister is in the wall. She is very tiny. She likes to wave to passers.)" The second Froggit croaked. We all looked at the crack in the wall, just to see a very small Froggit wave to us. It was adorable.

"Ribb-oak. (If a monsters name is YELLOW, you can SPARE it.)" The third Froggit told us.

"How do we know if a monsters name is yellow?" Justice asked.

"There is a DIALOGUE box above the monster when you enter a FIGHT. If you ACT a certain way or FIGHT until they are weakened,  they will not want to fight you anymore. If a monster-)"

"Yeah, yeah, We heard from your brother." Bravery told him, looking bored and annoyed. The Froggit nodded. He then looked at Justice.

"PLEASE GRANT US MERCY." The Froggit spoke, in english. We all were startled, including Justice. The Froggit's in the room turned to look at Justice with blank expressions. But Jusstice wasn't focused on that. It looked like she heard something, but the rest of us only heard silence. Before anyone else could react, Justice ran away. " WATCH ME!" She cried.

"WAIT!" Bravery called. We ran after her. What we saw-we did not expect.

Justice was holding an empty gun at a monster. The Froggit we saw before looked bruised and beaten. It looked like it was in a fight-and losing. Justice was ready to press the trigger, because even though we knew that it was empty, the carrot monster didn't. It retreated, with the box above it's head reading 'Vegetoid ran away.' Justice sighed, and went to care for the Froggit.

"R-ribbit. (Y-you weren't actually going to shoot it-were you?)" The Froggit asked worridly. Justice looked away. "That depends on what they did next." She replied. She made it seem like she would shoot, even if it did have a bullet in it. The Froggit looked up at her.

"ribbit. (why did you save me?)" It asked.

"You helped us. I repaid you. And besides, it was not right." She answered.

"RibbIT. (You are full of JUSTICE, human.)" Froggit told her. Justice smiled. She turned to us and saw us staring, mouths open wide. "What?" She asked.

"Y-You smiled!" I exclaimed. She then transformed into what we knew her as before. Justice rolled her eyes. "Well, duh! Did you think I was soulless or something?" She walked on. We looked at each other in confusion, then followed her.

There was a room with candy, and a sign that read 'Take One.' We each took one.

There was 6 covered up holes, in rows of 3, that were very obvious. Justice noticed them, and stopped. "Whats the hold-up?" Asked Bravery, annoyed. "There are holes and-" Justice started. But Bravery didn't let her finish.

"Ugh! Never mind!" He cried, pushing past everybody. Justice didn't try to stop him, but instead, moved out of the way. "AUGH!" He cried as he fell into the hole. It wasn't very deep, so we all heard a loud thump when Bravery hit the ground. "oooh..." He moaned, and I couldn't help but laugh. Soon everybody was laughing but Bravery.

Randomly, Bravery screamed. "What is it?" I called down. I peered down, and saw a giant, round monster with horns. It had no face, just a giant eye. The box above it's head read 'Loox Encountered You.' We all wondered what Bravery would do.

"Hey, wassup dog?" He told the monster. Obviously not doing anything mean or hurtful. He wasn't picking on Loox!

"Finally! Someone gets it!" He replied. He shot eye-rings at Bravery, who quickly dodged them. Loox's name was yellow, so Bravery spared him.

"That was amazing!" Integrity cried. "Yeah, considering YOUR the one who fell in the hole..." Justice smirked. Everyone resumed laughing.

"It's not THAT funny!" He called from the bottom of the hole, which made us all laugh harder. Integrity leaped over the hole with ease. Justice got a running start over. I was up next. I breathed in deeply, backed up. And began to run. I jumped as far as I could. I passed the first row of holes, just one more. I would make it, I would make i-

THUMP

I fell through the hole. "Ouch..." I winced, rubbing by butt. Bravery snickered. "Who's the one laughing now?" He asked. I glared at him. I noticed at vacuum thing and went to investigate. Before I knew it, I was sucked up through the vent. I could only see black, until I was spat out beside Justice and Integrity. "WOAH!" Integrity yelped, jumping backwards. I leaned down the hole I fell in.

"Bravery! Can you catch them as they fall down? There's a vacuum type of thing closer to the far wall and will bring you to the other side!" I called down. He nodded, and I gave the thumbs-up to Kindness to show that he could lower down Patience and Perseverance. So that they didn't break any bones or such.

When everybody was up, we continued walking. In the next room, there was a sign and a rock. The sign read '3 out of 4 rocks recommend you to push them.' Justice volunteered to push the rocks, but Bravery said he was the strongest, That led to a competition-who could push rocks the fastest? Soon, the rock got tired of being pushed around, so he told them that there were more rocks in the next room. They quickly raced to the new rocks.

There were 3 rocks in the room. They started with the top one, then the middle. Justice tried to push the rock, but it didn't budge.

"Woah there, pumpkin!" It exclaimed. "Who said ya could push me around? Ya know what-I'll move for ya." The rock moved slightly to the pressure plate.

"Can you go farther?" Perseverance asked, already getting the puzzle and when Justice and Bravery moved on he pushed the rocks into the correct place. The rock sighed.

"Okay, hows this?" The rock moved up. Perseverance struggled to keep calm, and luckily the rock noticed. It finally moved to the pressure plate, allowing the wall of spike to go down. But just as they were about to cross-the SAME ROCK moved OFF THE PLATE!

"Can you, PLEASE, stay there?" Perseverance asked, VERY annoyed. We could have gotten seriously hurt from those spike, no matter how dull they were. "You're giving me a real workout, kids!" We couldn't help but groan in aggravation.

In the next room, it was entirely made up of covered-up holes. Except not just two rows. It was multiple, maybe seven down and even more across. You couldn't jump that unless you could fly. "I guess we're ALL going down." Patience stated. I jumped down and looked around. I could see a path made of leaves, but it was just an empty room. Someone had obviously gotten bored. I found a single vacuum and went up it, but I was only spat beside the group. "I guess it didn't work." Integrity noticed. I nodded.

"Lower me down. I  might be able to help and find a solution!" Perseverance offered. I helped lower him down and then jumped in after him. He looked all around the room, checking corners and bricks. He couldn't find anything, and Bravery was losing hope. "Hurry up down there, would ya?" He called. We could hear Patience shushing him, telling him to have PATIENCE. Kindness also shushed him and told him to be more KIND. I could practically feel Bravery rolling his eyes. A lot of time HAD gone by, but he would not give up. He was filled with PERSEVERANCE. Then, Perseverance noticed a sign on the far wall. The only sign in the room was 'DO NOT step on the leaves.' He seemed very curious about it.

"Don't step on the leaves..."He murmured to himself. Suddenly, his face lit up. "BRAVERY!" He called through the hole. "TRY TO GUESS WHERE TO GO, AND WHEN YOU FALL TRY NOT TO MOVE FROM WHERE YOU LANDED!" A muffled 'okay' was heard from above the holes. Bravery took one step, then two, then three. But on his fourth he fell through. "OUCH!" He yelped, landing on some leaves that were part of the outside of the path. Perseverance suddenly ran to the vacuum and got sucked up. Me and Bravery followed him. "What's up?" I asked. Perseverance smiled.

"Everybody hold hands. I know the way!" We followed him, cautiously taking a step onto the covered holes. For some reason, the holes we stepped on didn't give way. Soon we had reached the next room.

"Wow! How did you know what to step on?" Kindness asked, amazed. Perseverance smiled. "You see, the path made of leaves was the way to go! It said, on the sign, 'don't step on the leaves.' giving hints. It all made sense when Bravery fell ON THE LEAVES. That's how I figured it out!" Because it was short and I was able to understand, I nodded. I was honestly amazed, since he looks short and young but is obviously very smart. We continued to the next room.

We walked up and saw a large purple room with red leaves we saw earlier scattered around. They looked like they came from a dead, black tree that was now leafless. Toriel walked forwards, holding her phone to her ear. It took her a while to notice us standing there.

"My children! How did you get here-are you hurt? Are you okay?" Toriel rushed over, comforting us. "No matter, I shouldn't have left you alone. Come inside, I have a surprise for you!" She said. She rushed inside a nice house. It looked very comfy. We all sighed.

"FINALLY!" Justice cried. "We get to relax."

We were no longer alone.

(Hey I just want you to know I'm going only going to do a word count when something special happens with it. Cuz today I reach a NEW SCORE! 2101 words! I'm soooo proud!)
