Chapter 32: A New Addition
(Y/n) pressed her body against a wall as leverage to maintain her stand. Unsure of how far she had ran, the female looked around her surroundings to coordinate herself while trying to catch a stable breathing pattern.
Her legs and muscles ached from the unpredicted sprint she had to make while her lungs burned and attempted to suffocate her. Panting out her fatigue, she propped her upper body by placing her hands on her knees. Once she took a few seconds to assess her situation and gaze around, the female found herself finally sedating her overwhelming panic. Pressing a hand to her beating chest, she attempted to calm the anxiety building up within her.
'What the hell just happened...?' She questioned, unintentionally drawing her hands up to touch her neck. She could still feel the warmth of the fingers that had looped around her throat, and continued experiencing the illusion of pressure being firmly applied as her oesophagus had threatened to close up to all air. The girl halted her running mind before a rush of fear and instability could permeate through her body. 'Why did he do that...?' Her hands quivered as they locked together in a self-comforting attempt while the rest of her frame conceded in on itself.
As her trepid heart began infecting the rest of her body with queasiness, she felt her whole structure weaken as all she wanted to do was curl up and take time to gather herself. "A day of worry is more exhausting than a week of work." She heard a soft voice regard her, causing the female to jolted back out of the sudden appearance of the newcomer. She stared at the individual that had appeared to comfort her in her time of disquietness and couldn't help but feel an immediate drizzle of serenity ease into her. "It's a quote from a well-known music conductor; John was his name if I remember correctly." Eban informed as a concerned smile poked his lips while he faced the surprised girl. "I feel as though it's quite relevant to what might be happening right now." He commiseratively uttered, giving her a pitying gaze while all she could do was stare in a moment of shock.
When she finally emerged from her moment of stupefaction, she drew in a deep breath and stiffened her body. Her eyes strayed from his as her form shrivelled in to introvert back in seclusion. "Is that your way of saying hi...?" She tried to humour but her tone unintentionally came out as strained and bitter.
Eban lightly scoffed before taking the initiative to approach her with a curious but cautious smirk. "Seemed like 'hi' would be a bit mild considering the situation." He commented, stopping in front of her from a reasonably impersonal distance. "You seem very stressed. Did something happen?"
(Y/n) stared at him for a few moments that he remained tolerant for, as though trying to defuse an explosive while having no notion of which wire to cut. She shortly shuffled, making a brief disconnect with his eyes as no excuse cold arrive in her mind. Eban contained watching with a fixed gaze and a fixed smile that dripped with patience and unyieldingness. (Y/n) could see how adamant he seemed on extracting a confession from her and felt slightly interrogated.
As the female reached around the crevices in her mind to look for a diversion in order to dishearten the male on his search while an explanation was not lodging in her mind. She knew the male was giving her a knowing smile, seeming to be very perceptive on her current experiences. Just as she began despairing on any sort of distraction, Eban chimed in. "I've been taking more pictures, would you like to see?" He questioned, averting on the subject as he took his camera out. The girl was temporarily stunned by the offer and eagerly nodded to the change in subjects.
"Yeah, I'd quite like that." She simply answered, slowly approaching him. She felt her senses remaining on high alert as a result of her previous encounter. The high stiffness in her shoulders and slumped posture betrayed what her mind was trying to hide. However, Eban didn't seem interested in questioning her further at that moment, but instead proceeded to turn the screen on the camera towards her to view the taken images. The girl's mind seemed to become immediately preoccupied as she gazed on the curious image taken. "Wow, what's that?"
Her eyes trailed across each detail on the screen, taking in the rich vibrance of emerald and pine greens as the few specks of light that managed to penetrate through the dense foliage captured the environment. As the skies and earth merged together into a hue of teal, there seemed to be a blur between the colours of the heavens and the life on the ground. And as her vision slowly began tracing down towards the bottom half of the still-life, the girl's nosiness got piqued as she noticed a curious structure that lay engrossed in the wildlife as its existence became tangled in the plants and flowers since a seemingly long lifetime.
"Is that a bridge? Where did it come from?" She questioned, prepared to snatch the camera and closely inspect the picture for any clues of the seemingly fairytale land that this was taken from. Eban chuckled at her exasperation before zooming in on the structure of interest.
"There's an old bridge much further into the forest. That's where I took this." His reply caused further bemusement within the girl as she stared up at him with a look of excitement and wonderment.
"There is? Where, it looks beautiful." She exclaimed, looking back at the picture as all else in her mind began to wash away with the sight of the old, elegantly ageing wood that was embraced by the environment around it. Eban noticed the gradual relax in her posture and kept on his knowing smile.
"It's further down to the north, behind this house. It's a bit of a walk and you might get annoyed with how deep the grass and plants become but that's just for some part of the way." He proceeded to indicate towards the general direction from their current position, sending the girl's gaze beyond the wall that he was pointing at as her imagination formed the area in her mind. She turned back to him with a slightly ardent expression as she became more curious with every explanation.
"There's such a bridge around here? Can you take me to it? It looks so pretty." She excitedly requested, an impatient glint shining in her eyes. Eban simply smirked at her as he stepped forward to catch the girl in a fixated gaze.
(Y/n) was slightly taken aback at the questionable spark in his own vision as though he were looking right through her and holding expectations of what's to come. "I can." He answered, leaning down to shorten the gap between them as a pleased smile displayed itself on his lips. "But no one else is allowed. Just you and I." (Y/n) felt her eagerness draining as she was given unpleasant flashbacks to her previous experiences. She felt even more vulnerable in front of the blond as he seemed to hold more clairvoyance and intuition on her actions so the element of unpredictability no longer seemed to be an advantage. As she was about to stutter out a reaction her heart eased its weight on her at his response. "Just joking." He simply states, reeling back to stand up straight and allow the female space.
(Y/n) stared at him for a few moments, still in shock at the lighthearted reveal before a stiff smile also spread across her features. She huffed out her relief and felt her nerves settling once more. "Of course...why do I keep falling for that?" She lightly humoured as the pair slightly chuckled at her own expense.
Eban the worker with a curious grin as an eyebrow arched up to speculate at her with intrigue. "Maybe because you secretly want it to be true?" He inquired with a sweetened voice, staring at the surprised girl with an analytical gaze.
The worker just scoffed at his assumption and teasingly hit his arm before reciprocating his amusingly curved brow. "If you were to ask me if I wanted thousands of keychains I would immediately start jumping from excitement. My reluctant reaction for your offer says more about you than me." She retorts, playfully cocking a brow in a manner that she would notice Padraig habitually doing. Eban lifted his hands up in a surrender before smirking at her humorous attitude.
"But in any case, I'll take you there if you want." Eventually offering once again, the female's interest was grabbed once more and she neared him with expectancy. "But, there still is a condition in order for me to do that." (Y/n)'s expression fell as she wasn't sure whether to glare out of frustration or stare out of engagement. Eban's smile simply remained either way over her confused reaction. "What happened?" He innocently questioned, tilting his head to the side at a slight angle as a curious visage awaited for her answer.
(Y/n) was slightly confused at the seemingly unrelated inquiry before her assumptions began picking up the pieces. "What do you mean?" She quietly quizzed back, holding onto the hope that he wasn't leading onto what she thought he was.
To her bitter anxiousness, the male didn't spare her the interrogation. "Why did you look so upset when you first came here?" He further explained, refusing to break eye contact with the girl who felt obligated to answer the enquiry.
"I'd rather not say." She defensively muttered, bringing her arms in front of herself as she flicked her gaze away.
"Hmm?" He tunefully hummed with slight amusement, carefully watching her even when her eyes strayed away from his. "Because I'm under the presumption that someone might have given you a bit of a fright recently." His gentle tones sat dimly in the air as the silence of the girl filled in the rest of the blanks that meant to resemble a conversation. "Might I even say, scared you." The triggering description caused the girl's blood to freeze over as she was left to force down an indicative reaction while feeling bare to the male's green eyes. Carefully judging the situation in her hands the girl was granted relief by the person that had caused her the mental strain in the first place. "I talked with Akai outside. He said he was going to come and talk to you. Might as well go visit him now." Eban offered, breaking away his focused sights to relieve the girl with freedom.
(Y/n) glanced at the boy in a scrutinising manner before accompanying him on the subject. "Thanks, I'll go see him right away then. I'll talk to you later." She briefly gave him a regarding nod before turning around and making her way towards the exit.
As she was commencing her departure, her company's words seemed to halt her in her tracks. "Don't worry about someone who's bothering you." She gazed back to notice the boy preparing to also take his leave, only averting his attention back for her sake. "People can be replaced by others." He commented before proceeding to fully turn away from her and begin walking the other way.
(Y/n) remained bewildered at his words and made an attempt to grab his attention out of hunger to elucidate his remark. "What do you mean by that?" She called out to the leaving boy who continued his strides without presenting explicit notation on the girl's question. "Eban?" Calling again, she was given no regard as the boy left the scene, allowing her to stand on her own in confused entanglement. Before she could completely come to a conclusive decision, she decided to leave as no other option was presented to her.
As (Y/n) exited out of the building, her optics were promptly drawn to an attracting colour that stood out amongst the scenery. Descending down the few ivory steps, her form began walking down the front of the premises towards the scarlet figure sitting underneath a tree near the gates to the compound. He seemed engrossed in his own thoughts as he intently concentrated on the lush grass in front of him, remaining unaware of the female's approach. She carried with her a garbage bag she received from Zak on her way to the front entrance, considering the favour to be easily taken on as she was headed in the same general direction.
As the girl only came a few feet from the gate, Akai flicked his stare up to scowl at her with surprise while she froze on the spot as his gaze paralysed her every muscle and the rustling of the plastic carrier crackled to a stop while everything on her became unmoving. As the two remained at a standstill with their unblinking stares trying to decipher the other's thoughts, the boy was the first to speak up. "What are you doing?!" He briskly snapped, glaring at her with an accusatory expression. "I told you not to leave the house!"
(Y/n) had to blink a few times to refresh the scene as all she could think of was a retort. "Well, everything within the gates is part of the house so technically I haven't left." Akai grumbled under his breath before standing up to regard her fully. "Besides, I need to take the trash out." She indicated towards the heavy luggage in her hands as she approached the large garbage bin to the side.
"But wait, are you coming back?" The male eagerly inquired, leading the female to remember her lacking explanation upon their first meeting.
"Oh, yes I'm coming back to work. My mother is going to betraying for a while so I'll take on the job." Explaining to him her ambiguous reasoning, she began feeling less weight bearing down on her heart with her reply. Almost as though her sensitivity to the practices lines wore down the emotion behind them. Akai, on the other hand, seemed brimful with overwhelmed relief and enthralled by the news of her stay.
"You are?! Then welcome back, glad to have you again." He pressed down his charged excitement and steadily calmed himself as he would leave any celebration out of the public eye.
As he watched the girl carelessly swing the garbage inside the large container, he was allowed the privacy to think over on a subject of interest. He approached her with a calm stride as he was reminded of what had been binding his mind and emotions in a conflicting state of wavering dominance.
"Hey, (Y/n)." He steadily spoke, grabbing enough of her attention to earn a glance. Feeling slightly apprehensive at the actual regard, the male steadied his nerves to question her. "Are you free any of these days?" Quizzing her on her schedule of the week, she gave the male a slightly confused gaze at the unelaborated question.
However, she didn't have to ponder on the subject long and hard before a definitive answer was acquired and she turned her attention on closing the lid of the bin. "No, I'm pretty much working every day, all day, so quite busy." She simply answered before glancing back at the male.
(Y/n) was a bit shocked to witness the irritated features of the disappointed boy as he glared at her for the dejecting answer. As she questioned him on the reasoning behind his proposition, he strayed his sharp eyes away from her, reassessing his approach to a more direct tactic. "Because I wanted to invite you out to go somewhere." He specified, catching the girl's consideration as she thought over his explanation while the boy awaited an answer in suspense.
Her mind pondered on his elaboration, working her thoughts to find an opening in her days to take up the interesting offer. "Well, maybe I'll make time." She uncertainly explained, elevating the male's mood as his hopes were elated apropos to her deliberation. "Who else is coming?"
His faith was shattered and scattered, as though his newfound satisfaction was shoved through a shredder. The male became irascible as he clenched his fists in frustration and anger. "F**k it!" He barked, taking out a juice from his coat pocket to consult his irritated nerves. (Y/n) gaped back at the uninitiated snap and began contemplating on what she had improperly said.
"Did I say something wrong?" She questioned him with an uncomfortable smile while he simply resulted on glaring at her.
"Just go do your job." He bitterly remarked, facing his body away from the girl.
(Y/n) gave him a wondering gaze before her mind was immediately reminded of an enchanted scenery that took away her thoughts. "Actually, I want to go look around in the forest for a moment." She explained, heading her walk towards the gate with the intention of temporarily leaving the property.
Akai thoughtfully watched her disappearing figure as he deliberated on her departure. The male fought the intense beckoning to accompany her on her lonesome travel. After a few quick seconds of internal debating and aggravated grumbling and grunting, he quickly walked up to her fleeting furthering form. When she gave him an addled glance he simply stated ahead without much regard to her attention. "I'll come with you. Don't have anything better to do." Was his simple and passive answer which was placed under intensive question from the girl.
"Why did you want to go through here again?" Akai inveighed as he began raising his irritation to the miniature insects that would crowd in front of his face, unintentionally irking the male at their persistent presence. The pair had circled around behind the house where her memory sieved through the scenery, trying to follow the directions given to her.
"Eban showed me a really cool looking bridge that was in this direction." Indicating towards the northern path of the area, she paused her trials to dejectedly stare at the path ahead when her patience reached its remnants. "I think I'm going to just give up at this point...I should ask Eban to take me next time." Turning around to discourage the entire trip, she noticed the male stubbornly sitting under the shade of a tree while angrily sipping his trusted carton of fruity liquid. "Come on, let's go back, I'm admitting to myself that we'll get lost if we don't turn around." Akai, however, seemed reluctant to budge after nearly half an hour of nothing but walking and preferred to finally take a moment alone with the female where she didn't seem preoccupied with a distraction.
"Just sit down for a bit, the stupid bridge won't disappear in just a day." He persuasively complained, beckoning the female to join him under the shade.
(Y/n) hesitated at the offer as she looked over the dense layers of leafs to spot the apex of their building further back from where they came. "But I still need to finish the library. Then after that, I promised Seok and Giovanni, but Gennai also-" Amidst her continued her anxious rambling, blabbering and muttering she was interrupted by a loud groan.
"Have you even taken a break since you came here?" He aggravatingly questioned catching the girl by surprise at his annoyed tone.
"Once."
"Just sit down and rest." He finally commanded before turning his attention back on drinking his juice while the girl could only speculate around his question.
(Y/n) eventually shuffled towards the tree with the pestilence of her still unfinished work gnawing away at her mind as she tried to voluntarily relax. As she sat herself down beside the boy, she glanced towards his direction to see an ever-present scowl that cemented itself on his features. "Why do you always seem so angry?" The boy glanced at her with a defensively confused expression.
"Huh?"
"You always look so angry"
Akai furrowed his brow and proceeded to scowl at the environment as opposed to her. "There's no problem with the way I look."
The girl awkwardly smiled at the misinterpreted comment. "That's not what I meant..." She fell silent for a few moments and so did her company as they both seemed to place their deeper thoughts on subjects outside a conversation. When the female had enough of her surroundings she turned her attention back on the male. "Why are you angry?" She curiously inquired in as less of an offending tone as she could.
"I'm not."
She remained sceptical due to his snapping tone and sharp flair in his words. "Actions speak louder than words-"
"I'm f**king not!" He swiftly interrupted in a loud bark, settling into silence as the female simply watched him with an unfazed visage after expecting the outburst.
After a few seconds of quiet observation, she couldn't help but scoff in humoured amusement. "You're letting people make you angry, Akai."
Shrugging off the comment, Akai dismissively stared off to the side. "People make me angry, it's not my fault."
(Y/n) contorted her face into a half doubtful and understanding one at his remark. "That's arguable but I'm not talking about that. You let that anger seethe inside you." Akai scrunched his brow at the observation.
"I just hate people, everyone annoys the hell out of me."
The worker seemed slightly intrigued at his specific use of wording inquired him further on the subject. "Do you mean hate in the literal sense?"
"Of course. Someone pisses me off then there's no other option." The irritable boy stated, chucking his empty carton of juice away where the litter disappeared into the long blades of grass.
"That's such an easy thing to say...have you tried forgiving people?" The girl's suggestion brought up a tasteless sense in the male as the idea didn't sit well with his character.
"Why? I don't care for them, I'm not about to go soft on a bunch of d**kheads when they make me angry." With venom in his voice, he proceeded to spit out his sour mood.
The girl thought over the male's words and seemed to sense a broken logic that didn't nestle well in her own reasoning. "The purpose of forgiveness sometimes isn't to help the other side." Akai passively shrugged the comment off as though it were a lighthearted matter. "When you hold grudges and hatred in your heart, it's like poison to the soul. The only person you're hurting by having this spite is yourself." The male's gaze lowered as his mind became more immersed in the empathetic rationing that held a more personal connection to him.
"And why do you think I'm interested in all this?" His dismissive tone shrouded his interest in a veil of apathy while the girl seemed to look past his uninterested attempts.
"You just strike me as the type of person who wants to get over these issues he has."
Her sincere reasoning struck on the male as he placed silence on the conversation to quietly contemplate on her intentions. "What do you suggest I do?" The girl was slightly taken aback by the inquiry but pleasantly surprised by his interest in the subject. "With this 'forgiveness' shtick, you seem to be a know-it-all about this. What do you propose?"
She felt a bit unprepared for the procedure and had to step back and ponder on it. "Oh, uhm..." After taking a moment of secluded thoughtfulness, she seemed to remember a method of her past that could be compatible to the inexperienced boy. "Something I used to do...do you have paper or a pen on you?"
"Do I look school ready to you?" He sarcastically inquired which only served to earn him a doubtfully raised eyebrow from the searching girl. "I have a pen." He begrudgingly admitted before handing over the plastic tool for the female's use.
"Ah, I knew I had my notebook here!" (Y/n) triumphantly declared as she found the small booklet lodged in one of her pockets. She handed the two pieces of equipment back to the male and instigated for his input. "Alright, write down the name of a person that has made you loathe them." As the male's eyes flared up with malice he wasn't even able to carve out the first letter of the individual's name before getting reprimanded by his company. "And don't write Lilito down yet, I need an example that has a bigger possibility of you forgiving them." She requested, planning on making the procedure less complicated and tough as possible.
"Is this going to take long?" Akai complained as he scribbled down the name of a different boy that came to mind.
"Complaining only makes it more tedious for the both of us. I can stop here if you want." She had no intention of going through the procedure if the male didn't wish for it and neither was she obliged to hear him groan about it. So Akai continued as she instructed him with little vocal resistance. "Firstly, list out as many situations as you can where they bothered you deeply." The male proceeded to comply as he began writing line after line of the reasonings behind his distaste for the mentioned boy. "Once that's done, try and think of it objectively. Switch the idea of the fault being on the other person into understanding where your own emotions and judgements played a part."
A flicker of aggravation sparked in the male as he reflexively denied any responsibility on his part. "I wouldn't start something with someone if they weren't the ones being d**ks. Why should I put myself as the bad guy?"
"Because you need to take responsibility for your reasoning. Emotions can flare in heated situations. If you're not willing to sometimes put your ego to the side, you're no better than Padraig." The male grumbled at the equivalent and complied.
"Ugh, don't compare me to that walking, talking superiority complex." After he began carefully considering each point he was first irritated over how many of the censorious he had put out and had to filter through, and began speculating at each confrontation with a differentiating angle to view from. After he carefully checked through each interaction he began feeling a closure approaching his mind as the fuel in his head and heart no longer burned so rapidly with misjudgement. "Ok, done."
"Are you sure?" She doubtfully quizzed.
"Yes." Akai remarked back, earning a sigh from the patient girl.
"What's that scenario where he took your seat on the bus?" She pointed to the briefly noted idea as it caused a new dilemma in the male's mind.
"The a**hole saw me going for it, he knew what he was doing." The male complained, only to earn a no-nonsense scowl from the female.
"Akai."
"Fine." He finally grumbled before crossing the moment from the list and out of his conscience. "There, I've admitted that I was in the wrong for these."
(Y/n) proudly smiled at the boy before checking him over. "Do you feel a bit more understanding towards him?"
"I have less of an old-man bitterness if that's what you mean." He obdurately stated.
The female gladly gave him an approving smirk before transitioning to the next phase. "Then we can move on. Now try and cross out all of the things that seem trivial and ridiculous to be mad over."
Akai seemed personally conflicted on the new subject as his implacable judgement came under question. "I told you, I don't get angry for stupid reasons."
The girl took the notebook in her hand to scrutinisingly gaze at the notes made on the paper before commenting on the more petty bunch of them with a mordant distinguishing. "Yes, because the fact that he broke your pen definitely is deserving of you taking this vengefulness to the grave." She almost felt personally offended at the fact that in general circumstances he seemed more reasonable than her and gave him a judging glance. "How old are you...?"
"Give it!" He snapped before retrieving the book from her to begin reassessing the moments with less personal infliction. As he sieved through the few bunches of minor sentences he began feeling lightweight and embarrassed at the few that would seem unremarkable to another person. There was a sense of rejuvenation with each stroked that was crossed over each accusation and despite a reluctant sense of proclaimed injustice, he brought himself on ending the grievances that weighed on his temper. "There, the guy is forgiven for these dumb moments but everything else was initiated by him." He tossed the girl the booklet of mostly marked out accusations and she satisfyingly looked over to him.
"Great. This was just to help get rid of some of the less important reasons that are clouding your judgement on him. Now that you've been able to learn to forgive the smaller things, you need to practice that with the bigger things." The male seemed sceptical at that point and stared at her with a doubtful look. (Y/n) was placed in a situation where she knew some slight persuasion and embellishment might bring about productive results "Keep in mind that forgiveness doesn't mean you should forget the incident ever happened or that you're even excusing them from what they've done. It means you're letting go of the anger that they brought up in you."
Akai thought over her ideal and seemed to shy away from the subject, but maintained a stubborn approach. "Kinda harder to forgive someone for legitimate reasons."
(Y/n) nodded in agreement as she agreed with the male's perception. "It is. That's why it takes an admirable person to not let things like this dictate their life." Akai's frustrated grimace eased as he considered her analogy and even thought over what might ring nicely with the girl. "Anyone can just be controlled by their emotions and easily hold hatred for the people around them, I think it takes someone strong to strive through without allowing that sort of stress to affect them." The male slightly foolish but wasn't sure whether it was of understandingly logical the approach was or how he was being persuaded into the more pacifistic mindset.
"Even if I forgive these situations, that doesn't mean I'll like the dude."
"That's completely fine. Forgiving someone doesn't necessarily mean you should become first friends with them. Or to even fully trust them." As she returned the book to him that held all the remaining faults of the other party, the boy seemed more interested in listening to her voice and words as her encouraging and sympathetic tone resonated with him. "It just means that you're not allowing past grievances and anger hold you down. If you're being bothered by these things more than necessary, it's not worth holding onto." She simply explained, leaving the boy to settle and debate on each wrongdoing before a question appeared in her mind. "What was the worst thing he ever did?"
"He made fun of me for being...-" Akai was shocked at how easily and freely he prepared to give out the information before he swiftly bit down on his words to stop himself from uttering any more. "Doesn't matter, he got what was coming to him anyway." He dismissed and before the girl could question him further she was shot out an inquiry for her. "Have you had this kind of hatred for someone?" She thought over the answer before remembering the greyest of recollections.
"Once. Years ago."
"What happened?"
"He was my partner for our science project last year. We made a pretty good team." She laughed at the reminiscence before patting the boy's knee with encouragement. "I wasn't planning to despise him for my whole life. Feelings come and go, especially when you don't spend that much time with the person." Akai thought over her claim before it loosely connected to an issue he had for himself.
"What if your feelings only get worse when the person's gone?" (Y/n) became slightly puzzled at his query, leaving him to dismiss the question altogether. "Never mind."
The female prepared to question him further but caught on to his discomfort of the topic and looked towards the house that was dozens of trees away from them. "We should go. Keep the notebook for now and finish off with the people that are really clouding your mind. I'll have it back then."
Akai couldn't help but scoff at her offer before a suspicious smirk appeared on his features. "You just want to make fun of how many things I get angry over."
"Yeah." She calmly admitted, making the boy chuckle at her intentions.
As the pair entered back through the front gates of the compound, the female was immediately drawn towards the large, sleek and shiny vehicle that has parked in the front section of the property. The branding was highly esteemed and expensive along with the design and model itself. The jet black colouration held an aura of shrouded mystery and the sharp headlights gave the entire inanimate object an expression of seriousness and an unwelcome to outsiders. She stared at the expensive and well-tended car in awe as she couldn't help but wonder what the owner must be like to own such an extravagant ride.
"Is Mr Kim here today?" She questioned her companion as it seemed to have been the only reasonable explanation for the new addition. She couldn't stop staring at the attractive and immaculate vehicle even as she ascended the steps with the male.
Akai looked over at the car with a slight passively peeved gaze before internally grumbling to himself. "No, it's someone more bothersome." He explained, before pushing the door to the building to open up the front entrance.
As the two allowed themselves into the household once more, an impression was immediately stamped on the girl when she saw two males standing in the middle of the central passage, one of which she couldn't recognise and wasn't aided in easing the job for her as he remained turned away from them, and an adult woman standing at the mystery guy's side, holding herself with quiet grace and respectability. However, she very much was able to identify the boy that was being interacted with as his viewpoint face the entrance where they were.
Padraig seemed tired with his company and as his eyes strayed from the visitors, he briefly made visual contact with the girl. (Y/n) became paralysed at his awareness of her presence and immediately felt her throat tightening with anxiety, causing a small burst of internal panic to spread through her. Darting her eyes to the ground, she shuffled towards the ruby haired boy, using him as a second layer of defence while she still felt insecure in the violated eyed male's presence. However, Padraig's distracted attention was drawn back to a strong, dominating voice quietly commanding his regard.
"Padraig, have some manners and listen to me when I'm speaking to you." The girl's eyes diverted back on the mysterious figure as she heard the deep, prestige and secure voice that would render even a noisy crowd silent as all attention would fall on him.
The more inquisitive she became, the quieter she began scuttling to the side, trying to keep as far and inconspicuous as possible while circling around to catch a better glimpse of the other party. Akai quietly joined her search as she stopped herself in a position where she wouldn't come into obvious view. As her company stood beside her, the girl inspected the features of the new male as she tried to decipher an identity.
"Who's that?" She questioned the boy beside her while she tried to also come to her own conclusions in regards to the newcomer.
"Just wait and watch." Akai indicated, causing further curiosity for the tantalised female.
"Here's the letter and deadlines from your mother. She said to call her past 22:00 when she's out of work." The lustrous practical vocals informed the boy who took the handed letter with begrudging passiveness.
"Thanks, uncle." Padraig purposefully put emphasis on their relations which satisfyingly earned him an irritated growl from the generally composed and well-presented man.
"I told you not to call me that. Be more formal with me, Padraig." His commanding tone insisted, earning an eye roll from his relative and a stare from the second part in the area.
"That's Padraig's uncle?" (Y/n) questioned, gawking at the elegantly fresh and youthful exterior and what she could make out from a small fraction of the male's features. "But he looks so young." Her amazed whisper directed itself towards Akai who shrugged at the comment.
"Cus he is. He graduated from this school just a few years ago." He informed, causing further surprise for the girl who continued staring at the newcomer as she began associating him to a past memory. She soon began gaining recollections of familiarity as she seemed to have heard his attracting voice before.
"He looks a bit familiar." Outwardly commenting, she hoped she would receive some aid on her unfinished assumptions.
"I'd be surprised if he wasn't. He's one of the most wanted models in existence and even has his own fashion company. The guy's everywhere these days. Vince Lamont, have you heard of him?" At the mention of his popularity and label the female immediately connected his identity to witnessing his image.
"Yeah, I think I saw an interview with him once on the TV." She lightly laughed at the new realisation as she was stupefied to even be near such a celebrity. "That's amazing, I would never have thought he was a relative of Padraig's. Does Padraig talk a lot about him?"
Akai grumbled at the question as he had to search back for nettling answers. "He doesn't 'talk' about his uncle so much as 'complain' about him. I personally don't think they're on that good terms." He uninterestingly commented while the girl was still recovering from the surprise.
"Why, do they just not like each other or...-?" (Y/n)'s tongue immediately pressed itself against the roof of her mouth as she saw the newcomer turn towards the two of them to give a sharp and inspecting scowl as he discovered their presence. "I think he heard me." The girl breathed out through unmoving lips whilst Akai just apathetically stared back at the glaring man.
"Don't worry, he'll deem you as unworthy and a no one before he even looks at you and won't even notice you even if you stand right in front of him." The crimson eyed boy informed, seemingly from personal experience with his encounters with the male.
(Y/n) was permitted the chance to assess the older boy's looks and was given the understanding of why his appearance was so desired. His face was well sculpted and defined as his features held a very slight gentleness and delicateness that perfectly balanced with the masculinity that outlined it. With accentuated dark coal eyes that were bordered with long eyelashes which contoured his upturned almond-shaped eyes, equally onyx black hair fell from the top of his head in a tamed wildness with some of his fringe cascading to the side of his face in a stylised fashion. The boy had a large build with some impressive height to accompany his size. He carried himself with a sophisticated and haughty air around himself and exhibited a seriousness with a dash of aristocratic lineage. Based on the girl's impression, he was appealing to look at but didn't seem physically approachable, especially with such a hostile scowl lining his perfect features.
However, the grimace of annoyance quickly changed into a face of wonder and amazement as it fell on her. For a moment, the girl wondered if he really considered her so invisible that he was staring at something behind her. But as his eyes became fixated on her with an astonished intensity, she was finally led to speculate if it was her that he was gaping at. "(Y/n)?" The girl in question froze up as she heard the more fragile sound that was associated with her name as he uttered his bewilderment.
For a split second, she couldn't believe that it was in reference to her herself but had her doubts horrifyingly dismissed as both Padraig and the woman that accompanied the celebrity proceeded to flick their attention from the girl to the ecstatic male, and she even felt Akai beside her turn to stare at her. "Me?" She allowed herself to utter, causing a jump of surprise from the gawping male as though her answer confirmed her physical existence to him.
The dark-eyed man's lips began parting in an unrestrained smile as his eyes lit up with excitement that hadn't been seen from him in years. "Oh my God!" He jolted towards the girl and (Y/n) wasn't even given time to react before she was caged inside an unyielding embrace by his strong arms. She would have uncertainly responded with one of the many confusing answers surging through her mind, had he not continued his elated speech. "My love! My darling! My precious Princess!" He continued to blissfully chant as even further questions raised in her head.
"What?"
Her uncertain vocals peeped through while her body was swayed in his embrace as he rocked her comfortingly in his arms. Vince eventually separated himself from her for a moment to longingly gaze at her bemused face as he reached up to gingerly stroke her cheek, savouring the touch of her skin and permanently engraving it in his memory. "Ah! You've grown up so much, (Y/n)! You look so beautiful." His breathless commentary only further deepened the girl's astonishment at the situation before he pressed her back against his body where he kept her in a hug that would seem to never end.
"What?"
(Y/n) muttered into his shoulder as she remained taciturn from shock and wasn't able to fully form sentences as no sense was being made. Amongst the confusion and befuddlement, the woman that had assisted the young man to the compound finally found her own voice to indicate what was on everyone's mind at that moment. "Mr Lamont...Sir, do you know this girl?" She directly quizzed the male who seemed more interested in cherishing the company of the worker than anything else.
(Y/n) remained frozen in the boy's personal embrace as she tried to process the situation that was playing out outside of her catatonic mind. She felt her body slowly being released by the gentle embrace as the pair of hands that had secured her to the large body rested on her shoulders. His actions were delicate, treating her as such while she could only try to comprehend the sudden unfolding events.
The male turned towards his questioning assistant as he gave her an indignant scowl that unraveled his personal insult to the woman's interrogation. "What kind of a stupid question is that? Of course I know who she is!" His strong voice blasted the declaration, offended by the mere assumption that the girl didn't hold the level of familiarity and fondness that he was exhibiting. Before (Y/n) could begin to fathom the gale of information that was sweeping her away, she stared at the older boy that turned his features towards her. His expression now seemed noticeably softer and heartfelt while desire and yearning were held in his eyes as they reflected only her. His smile seemed ecstatic and the voice he regarded her with was volumes more tender and more nurturing compared to his gripping confident tones. "How could I forget about my future bride?"
