The Serpent's Teeth:
His Desires

Unusual Development

Haylee

Haylee was aware that she had to go about it carefully.
The next meeting was going to take place at Rosier Manor yet again.
Because she knew that it was supposed to take place at the Crabb's Manor, she imagined that the Dark Lord was planning on visiting her room tonight.
Haylee swallowed her disgust.
Outwardly, she seemed downright flourish.
She had hardly ever looked as beautiful as now, it was as if her body wanted to give all it had to offer in the time that remained to he.

Actually, Alexander was the one who seemed to be the one already standing with one foot in the grave.
His gestures were restless, and his skin pale.

Haylee knew that he didn't have what it takes to be a Death Eater.

The young witch looked at her reflection and could be very satisfied.
The emerald green robe complimented her fiery red hair- that was knotted into a low bun, making it look even redder than usual.
Her cheeks were slightly flushed, which was due to the excitement that spread in her.
Her heart was pounding against her chest and blood rushing in her ears.
"Easy, girl," she murmured, and clasped her trembling hands together.
"It's not night yet..."
****

The whole evening was more than expected. Suddenly everyone seemed to noticed that she existed again, and only Bellatrix's angry glances seemed out of place.
To Haylees confusion, the Dark Lord made no efforts to hide the fact that he was interested in her what only made her Palpitations increase.

She wanted to disappear!

Haylee had no idea what she rather wanted: that this evening lasted forever, or that it were already over.

But nothing could last forever and so also this evening passed without incident.
Once she had then retired to her room, the wait began.

As always when she was upset, she began a restless wandering through her room, with the result that at the end she got dressed into a white lace nightgown and opened her hair, so that it cascaded in waves across her back.

With every minute that passed, it became increasingly clearer to her.
She was becoming a courtesan to the Dark Lord to save her family.
She couldn't do that!
Haylee covered her face.
She just couldn't!
'You have to," said a little voice in the back of her head. "It's the right thing to do."
If there was another way to go about this, then Haylee would have chosen it...

There was a gentle knock at the door.
Haylee glanced in the mirror.
Her appearance was perfect.
When she opened the door, the Dark Lord wasn't there as expected the.
No, it was ...

"Severus, what the hell are you doing here?!.", Haylee exclaimed, and before she could say anything else the dark haired Wizard slipped past her into the room.
"You can not possibly stay here," she finally managed to say.
"I'm aware of that," Snape replied, pushing a black strand of hair away from his face seemingly embarrassed.
"Would you be kind enough to tell me what you're doing here?"
"Actually, I wanted to tell you that you probably should stay out of Bellatrix way in the near future..."
"As if I would voluntarily look for her company!" Haylee replied.
"What else? That can hardly have been everything you wanted to say."
"It was."
"And that's why you came into my bedroom at this late hour?"
"Don't get any weird ideas."
"Don't worry, I won't."
"Now then, I probably should go now."
Haylee nodded, he hesitated.
Snape gave her a strange look from his dark eyes, then bit his lower lip, and left the room, leaving her alone again.

Haylee lay down on the bed.
Since when did Severus Snape do something out of pure charity?
There had to be something in it for him.
But what?

Haylee was slowly getting tired.
The candles had already nearly burned down.
Her eyes closed, and almost immediately she was asleep...

Tom

He had originally wanted to pay Haylee Rosier a visit, but he had come to the conclusion that it was probably better to keep her waiting.
There was no question that she had assumed he would come.
After what Snape said, it must have been so.
The Dark Lord wondered how long she might wait.

It was almost two clock.
Was she still awake?
It wouldn't hurt to look...

He Apparated directly into her bedroom and found it dark before him.
On the bed lay a white figure sleeping peacefully.

He remembered the last time that he had tried to read her mind, and it had seemed strangely empty, as if she was hiding something.
Gently and silently, he sat down beside her on the bed, brushed the fiery red curls- that reminded him so much of his Hazel, from her forehead and popped into her mind, or rather into her dream...
He looked at Hogwarts and hastily writing students- whose feathers flitted over the parchment.
He looked at the parchment and found that they were writing their O.W.L.s.
The Dark Lord slowly let his gaze glide through the room, which remained hanging on a girl with bright red hair.
Under the Slytherin Uniform flashing forth slender, albeit pale legs.
A strange dream, this was.
Pretty uninteresting.
And yet he looked over young Haylees shoulder.
All questions were- as far as he could see it through the short overflight, answered correctly.

When the scrolls were collected, she got up slowly and walked toward a group of waiting Slytherins, and a tall boy with lank greasy black hair, who The Dark Lord recognized as Snape looked wistfully after her.

Arriving at the group of Slytherins, Haylee ran her hand through her hair- in a slightly arrogant gesture: "Without equal."
"As would be expected," said a brown haired boy, and grabbed Haylee's hand who in turn beamed at him.
Now this dream memory was becoming really boring and the Dark Lord withdrew.

Back in the bedroom of adult Haylee, he silently wondered who that boy was.
He sighed and resisted the urge to take the young woman there and then.
Too bad that he had already taken the ring off Bellatrix...

Haylee

The first thing that Haylee did when she woke up, was wondering if her plan had failed.
Had she done something wrong?
Had she been too repellent?
Her troubled mind bombarded her with one question after another, but Haylee couldn't come up with any answers.

Alexander was nowhere to be found yet again,so Haylee cared for Kathy and Tim for the time being.
Her little sister had long forgotten about the dispute and cheerfully painted a picture, which probably represented a unicorn in a rather abstract way.
Tim, however, seemed somehow absent with his thoughts.
The blond boy who would be to Hogwarts in September, through the blonde hair.
"Haylee" he began.
Said had to smile.
Silk newest he said Haylee, as Alexander did when strangers were present.
"Yes, what's up?"
"Who was this man last night who came out of your room?"

She froze. "W- what man?"
Tim thought for a moment, probably to recall the appearance of the man.
"Was his skin pale and did he have long, greasy, black hair? Did he have a hooked nose?" Asked Haylee and was looking for a suitable excuse to explain Snape's visit.

The words of her brother brought Haylee back to the present.
"He was pale, and his hair was indeed dark, but not the way you described it. And he didn't have a hooked nose."

Haylee gasped.
If Tim had not seen Snape, who then?

"At what time did you seen him?" She tried to divert the attention from her surprised state.
"It must have been quarter past two," he admitted sheepishly.
"And what were you still doing in the corridors that late? Shouldn't you have been asleep by then?"
"Shouldn't you have been asleep instead of receiving visitors?" The boy replied flippantly.
"I have no desire to debate about that with you." She said and turned away.
"I told Alexander and he went really pale, when he heard it!"
"You what?" Haylee spun around again.
"I told him," Tim repeated.
"Listen to me. It's nobody's business with whom I meet."
"It is if everybody's already talking about it,"
he roared so loudly that Kathy raised her head.

Haylee pulled her brother out of the room.
"What are you talking about?"
"I sneaked into the living room under desillusion spell, the last time that they were here... and I heard them talk, they said that you're a tart."
"What did they say? And who above all said what?"
"I think Lestrange was there. Not the man, the woman. Bellatrix. Crabbe was also there if I remember correctly."
"And besides that?"
"So it's true?"
"No, it isn't. But I would like to know who is making up such lies about me." You're a really good actor, Haylee thought bitterly.

"I don't know all of them. I only recognized the Lestrange woman. But you could try to ask the man who made them stop talking. The one you described earlier. The one with the hook nose."

"Severus?" She exclaimed.
"I don't know who he is. Or... wait," Tim seemed to be deep in thought for a while.

It was really amazing that he could so easily remember everything.
Names, faces... everything.
That will certainly make Hogwarts easier for him once he starts his first year.

"The man said the following words: 'People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, Bellatrix.' Then Lestrange got pretty upset and said: 'Don't let your frustration out on me, I can't help it that all your chances went to zero. But there they were already like that from the beginning, isn't that right Snape.?' Yes, I think his name was Snape."

Haylee stared dumbfounded at her little brother.
"And then?"
"Well, Snape, or whatever his name was, got really red, as far as I could see then, before he left, he said something like: 'I rather think that you're the one that should let their frustrations out on someone.' That wasn't a really original answer, if you ask me." The boy concluded his report.
"How strange," his sister murmured thoughtfully.
"Well, I don't think that it's that strange ," remarked Tim.
"If I may summarize it in an overview: two men visited you yesterday, but you only know of one what must mean that you were asleep when one of them visited you. The first was that Snape guy. And judging by what Bellatrix Lestrange said, the reason why Snape doesn't have a chance with you is it's probably the second wizard."

Haylee was the breath away.
He had hit the nail right on the head.

"This is called deduction," he explained in an unnecessarily manner.
"Sherlock Holmes forms."
"I should have never allowed you to secretly read my Muggle detective stories."
Haylee shook her head lightly- an incredulous smile forming on her lips.
"It's too late for that now."
"Yes, it is indeed too late," she replied, but meant the unusual development in her game.

She should have noticed it.
When he had hesitated in the night, he had something else to say, of that she was sure.
But what was it?
Well, her would have hardly wanted to tell her that he liked her or something like that.
It was probably something that he thought she should know...

Haylee sighed.
What good would it do to just sit there guessing?
She should ask him, that would be best.
And that as soon as possible, because it had to be something that Voldemort would be displeased about, if so she really had to know.
And soon...
