As promised the next day jughead made his way to Betty's house to walk her to school. After he knocked she opened the door smiling at him. "Good morning Betty" he said. "Hi jug" she said before inviting him in. "I won't be long I just need to find my coat" she said before running back up the stairs. Jughead sat on the couch waiting, he looked around and his heart ached for her, after everything she told him yesterday she must be so lonely, living in the house by herself.

When they arrived at school Betty went to the blue and gold while jughead went to his locker to meet with the serpents. "Hey guys" he greeted them. "Hey jug" the said in unison. "Where's Betty? I saw you walk in with her" fangs smirked. "In the blue and gold probably avoiding everyone" Jug sighed. "She told me about her life yesterday and she said it's okay to tell you guys if you were really serious about being her friend?" He said. "Of course we want to be her Friend" Toni smiled. "Okay let's go somewhere then this is a long story" Jug said.

After telling Toni, fangs and Sweetpea in about Betty they were shocked. "Oh my god..." fangs said. "Poor girl" Toni sympathised. "How can people say stuff to her?!" Sweetpea said getting Angry. Before jughead could respond, the bell went and they all went to class. Jughead didn't see Betty until lunchtime. when he went to sit in the cafeteria with the others if felt weird knowing that Betty was alone. "Shall we go and find her?" Fangs asked, breaking him out his thoughts and sending jughead a knowing look. "Yeah let's go" Jug said before they made their way to the blue and gold. He found Betty writing on her desk and when they walked in she looked up startled, but relaxed when she saw who it was. "Hey Betts" Jug said taking a seat on her desk, the others sitting on the couch. "Hey Juggie, Hey Guys" she smiled. "Hey Betty, you don't mind us sitting here do you?" Sweetpea said with a genuine smile. "Of course not" She replied. While the other three were talking Betty whispered to Jug "did you tell them". "Yeah, don't worry they won't say anything and they want to be friends" he said and squeezed her hand. The Serpents started to eat their lunch and Betty went back to her writing. After a few minutes jughead realised something. "Betts? Where's your lunch?". "Oh, I left it at home" she shrugged. "Oh come on then let's go and get you something" he said standing up and holding out his hand. "No!" She said, taking him back. "Sorry, it's just I can't go to the cafeteria.. not with all those people.. I just... I can't" She said looking panicked. "Woah hey betts, it's okay" he said placing his hands on her shoulders. "Sorry" she sighed. "We can go and get lunch for you" Toni spoke up. But before she could answer, the bell rang signalling the end of lunch. "Never mind" Betty said before saying goodbye and leaving the room. Jug sighed at her retreating form.

Jughead managed to catch Betty at the end of the day by her locker. "Are you busy tonight?" He asked. "Nope" Betty smiled. "Join me at pops?" He asked. "Pops?" She asked as if she'd misheard. "Like... like a date?". "Yes, exactly like a date" he smiled at how adorable she is. "Okay!" She giggled and he grabbed her hand before leaving school and leading her to pops. "Are you hungry?" He asked as they were sat in a booth" she nodded "Yeah" She replied. "Well I told you I'd get you lunch, I hope this makes up for it" he winked.
