Requested by user49224906 imagine you find a old picture of you and your brothers.
You drop the last box on the table with a heavy sigh. You wipe your forehead from sweat as you sit down on your barstool. You didn't think moving would be such a hassle.
But you had to choose to get an apartment off campus. The idea of being in a small dorm cramped up with another teenage girl didn't settle right with you. Usually, your brothers would be here helping you unpack, but Ellen called them with a case.
You pick up the box heading to your room. You sit on the bed with the box in front of you. You read the word Pictures on the side. Curiously you grab the end piece of the tape and rip the box open.
You look down to see a photo album and a little pink box with gems all over the top. You carefully pick up the box and set it in front of you. You flip open the lock, and there lies a folded-up picture.
You unfold the picture that shows your brothers holding you up on each of their shoulders. You couldn't be more than 6 in this. Dean flexes his other arm as he makes a 'grr' face. Sam looks up, smiling at you while you laugh, holding a teddy bear.
You instantly feel tears start forming as you look back at that memory. Even though you were young, the joy beaming from the photo makes you feel at peace. You chuckle, dragging your fingers across the image.
You wipe away a tear and pick up your cell phone calling Sam.
"Hello," Sam's raspy voice answers on the third ring.
"Hey Sammy; you guys get to Missouri yet,"
"Yeah, we arrived about 30 minutes ago. Is everything okay,"
"Yeah, I just wanted to call you. I guess I'm starting to get a little homesick,"
"Hey, is that my munchkin?! Tell her about the cherry pie," you can hear Dean slightly yell in the background.
You snicker, "tell Dean that there's a cafe here that makes the best homemade pie he'll ever taste,"
"I might tell him. He's tempted to drive up there to try it himself,"
Maybe that wouldn't be such a bad thing. Just hearing the voices of your brothers makes your heart ache for them.
"Yeah," you smile.
"Are you sure you're okay, bug? You sound upset,"
"I miss you guys. I found this old photo of us, and it just made me think about the fun we used to have,"
"Hey, we'll visit after this case. You'll have fun in college; you won't even notice that we're gone,"
"I know. I love you guys,"
"We love you too. Call us after classes in the morning,"
"I will. Bye Sammy,"
"Bye, Y/N,"
I hang up the phone taking a deep breath. You take the picture placing a piece of tape on the back of it. You walk up to your mirror, taping the picture in the corner.
You smile as you stretch. You turn back around, climbing into bed. You grab your teddy bear, turning off the light.
