Marinette stood in front of a door, confirming she had the right room number. Once getting a quick mental 'yes' she went inside to see where she would be staying for the next few months; more or less.

As she glanced to the left, a queen-sized bed with smooth golden sheets was placed in the middle of the wall. Besides that, there was a balcony that showed the large garden surrounding the front of the palace, along with long, draping, beige curtains.

Near the right of the room, a grey couch lay in front of the wall with a large window looking over the gardens. On the far right, a large wooden door covered the section of the wall.

After she opened the door and saw rows and rows of dresses that filled the large closet, all with a variety of lengths, fabric, and colour.

They were the most beautiful dresses she had ever seen; or if she was lucky, would ever get to wear. To the left of the door, there was just enough space for a tiny brown bookshelf; filled with all of the classics.

As she walked in further, she noticed the bathroom on the far left, which looked as big as the room itself. The marble tile and counter matched an eggshell white and felt as smooth and cold as butter.

Marinette sighed and flopped on the couch, very tired from walking around in heels throughout the day.

As she opened her eyes, she saw a young maiden staring at her while smiling. "Bonjour! I presume you are Miss Dupain-Cheng. I will be your servant and maid for your stay!" She exclaimed giving Marinette a mini heart-attack.

Quickly after, Marinette smiled and got up to greet her. "It is very nice to meet you,"- she was thinking of a question she could ask - "What is your name?" "Thank you, Miss! For you as well. My name is Zoey Cunningham," she replied, the smile on her face growing bigger.

"You arrived at the perfect time Miss Dupain-Cheng, your bath is almost ready," she exclaimed as Marinette laughed nervously. "Wow, thank you! You're too kind," Marinette replied and opened her window; she was hoping for that sweet summer breeze that she had gotten when chatting with the prince.

She heard the birds chirping, and felt the slight breeze tickle her skin. As she walked back to go out on the balcony, she had noticed her luggage - resting beside her queen bed.

She opened up her small bag and noticed the glass box she had packed. After placing it between her fingertips, she went outside for a breath of fresh air.

She toyed with it in her fingers, as the wind messed up her hair done-up hair. Then, as a blast of wind came, she dropped the little box down to the bottom of the castle.

She gasped, and face-palmed herself, and ran back inside of her room. "Uhm, Zoey," she started, putting back on her heels. "I have to go downstairs," she mumbled as Zoey quickly ran out from the bathroom.

"Miss, you can't do that-" "I dropped something. They won't mind," I interrupt briskly. "Wait-" But Marinette already closed the door and started running down the stairs.

She knew that she had tried to forget Luka, and she tried so hard, but she still needed something small to remind her of a time where she was not in high need of a boyfriend or husband. A time where she didn't need to be an adult.

She ran down the grand hallway, and two guardsmen noticed her arrival. "Hello, sirs," Marinette said, instantly noticing that 'sirs' isn't a word. "Sorry, miss, you must return to your room," the one on the right replied, already knowing what she was going to ask.

Marinette looked down while breathing heavily. "Please, just a second," she begged as they shook their heads. "Sorry-" "No! No, please. This is very important to me, and I want it back,"

They looked at each other and then the one on the left sighed. "Did you drop something, or...?" one of them asked as Marinette desperately nodded. "Okay, I can let you outside to find it, but you mustn't tell anyone," he made the last part of his sentence very loud and booming.

"Sorry, you can do that Nino, I'm out of here," the guard called. The guard she now knew was named Nino opened the doors, as Marinette scurried in front of him.

"There it is!" Marinette exclaimed running over to the paved road. She bent on her knees to pick it up and saw it as a crack starting to form. She was surprised it was intact in the slightest - she had thought it was a blessing.

"Okay," Marinette said, cupping it in her hands very gently. She brought it up from the ground and lifted it.

"Okay," she repeated. "So, you found-" Then, the glass cracked even further and the box broke in half. She sighed as the guardsmen chuckled.

"So, it broke huh?" he asked as Marinette nodded sadly. "It's okay, it's the insides that count," Marinette said putting the sand back into the base of the cracked box.

He smiled. "Why is that so important to you?" he asked curiously. "Oh, it just a gift a dear friend gave me," Marinette explained, both of them walking back inside.

"Well, thank you for helping me," Marinette nervously repeated. "I won't tell anyone," she added as he went back to his original place. "That is a relief," he paused, "And it was no problem."

"Oh, hello," a voice said from behind them as they whipped their heads around. "O-Oh! Prince Adrien!" The guard said, giving me a scared look. "Hello, m-my-er- y-your majesty?" Marinette mentally slapped herself so hard, going into a deep curtsy. "That isn't necessary," the prince held up his hand.

Marinette gave him a shocked expression. "O-Oh, uh," Marinette was still lost for words. "Not to worry, This is one of my friends, Nino, but it appears you have already met," the prince wrapped an arm around the guard.

Marinette laughed. "Well, it seems like you two are best of friends," she added. "You're that girl who waved to me... Marinette," he sweetly said as Marinette giggled. "Am I forever going to be known as that?" Marinette dared as the gentlemen laughed.

"So, did you guys go outside?" he asked as Marinette bit her lip. "It was me - not him. I was wanting to go outside, and I distracted him so I could do that...So, it's my fault - don't punish-"

"Don't worry, you don't have to lie," Adrien smiled as she looked down, "Though, it is nice of you that you care about the protection of others over yourself," he said, Marinette tossing a nervous smile. "T-Thank you," -she felt the need to add something- "I-It is also nice that you are not going to report us to the king," Marinette added politely.

He chuckled, tossing her a smile. "You seem nice, Marinette. Lying for the protection of others over yourself is a good trait in a wife," he winked.

Marinette gave him a daring smile, as he flushed with embarrassment. "I guess," Marinette finally responded. Nino then looks at his pocket watch. "You must go now before the other guardsmen comes back - he wouldn't want to catch you two here," he warned as they both nodded.

"Okay, it was nice seeing you," Marinette said to the men. Adrien smiled before running off. "And you too Marinette. I hope our paths cross in the future,"

See you guys for the next update <3
