Chapter 13: Secrets

Hey guys! Not much to say, so enjoy the chapter <3 (Edit: Great A/N me...)

Luka and Marinette lips parted, still holding eachother tightly. Marinette stared at him, not being able to even mumble a sentence.

She then burst into tears, pushing Luka away from her grasp. "Go!" she sternly shouted, pointing to the door. He froze for a second, wanting to stay ane console her, but he left the room instead.

Marinette crashed to the floor, her tears flooding into her hands. Not only had she kissed Luka, but she had also betrayed Adrien, and broke the most important rule of The Selection.

And she could only blame herself; it was her fault she let her temptations get out of control. Luka had nothing to do with this - in her mind, she had deserved to get kicked out.

Marinette wiped her eyes, standing up, still choking on her tears while trying to steady her breahting. She took a deep hitched breath to calm herself down, which probably caused her to cry more.

Another knock echoed on the door, and Marinette wiped her eyes, hoping that Zoey was finally coming back.

She opened slightly, Adrien tossing her a quick smile. "Hey, Princess," he gave her a look, as she tossed him a quick smile through the crack of the door. "Are you okay?" he noticed her red eyes and tear-strained cheeks.

"Yeah, just a bit of a rough night," Marinette replied softly, leaning against the now closed door. "Do you want to talk about it?" he added in a muted tone.

"Definitely not," she laughed through her tears. "Well, just letting you know, I'm here," he opened the door fully as she smiled sadly.

Marinette gasped and Adrien turned his head around. "Kagami," he noticed her, looking over his shoulder. She kissed his cheek, Marinette looking at her feet. "Hello," she smiled gracefully.

"H-Hi," "Sorry, I forgot you may not know each other," Adrien facepalmed, "Marinette, this is Kagami Tsurugi," she nodded even though she knew. "Our parents are close, so she got entered into the selection," he added.

"Kagami. Oh, I know you," Marinette gave a weak smile. Kagami wrapped her hands around Adrien's arm. He blushed, but it quickly faded as he glanced back up at Marinette.

"It is very nice to meet you Marinette," she spoke, even thought they had met before, "But I would like to take Adrien away for a second." Kagami turned around, Adrien following her. "Bye..." Marinette muttered.

"It's very nice to meet you Marinette," she mocked, throwing her heels onto the floor. She laughed at herself, sitting on the ground while leaning against the door. Something about Kagami made her irritated, but she was trying to move past what had happened a minute ago.

She could tell Kagami was being protective of Adrien, just in the way she looked at her. It was something boys would never pick up on, and girls were all too familiar about it.

But that wasn't her secret to spill. She had her own to worry about.

Marinette thrust her eyes opened, shielding them quickly after getting a glimpse of the daylight. Zoey was pouring her some tea while she waited for the iron to heat up. "Good morning," Marinette yawned as Zoey giggled.

"Late night?" she asked. Marinette rubbed her head, thinking of the horrible night she had. "You could say that," she replied, tossing a sleepy smile.

"What's the time?" she stretched her arms. "About eight o'clock," -she placed the teapot down- "You have to get ready, breakfast is in half an hour."

Marinette swung her feet onto the floor, grabbing one of the full teacups. The tea warmed her cold mouth, rubbing her eyes as she proceeded to stand up. She then started her regular morning routine; combing out her hair, brushing her teeth, as well as washing her face.

Zoey already had her dress prepared as well as her shoes; which of course were heels. Marinette had a growing hatred for heels, but she couldn't really get mad at a pair of shoes. They're lucky they're pretty... She laughed under her breath.

Marinette, after a lot of mental debate, asked Zoey to choose a pair of flats she could wear. Zoey nodded, and decided to change her dress as well, so they would match her new shoes.

She picked out a maroon dress with an A-line, flaring outwards at her waist. The sleeveless dress stopped at her knees, meaning she could then pair it with the black flats. Her hair was in a bun off to the bottom left of her head, with a sprinkle of fresh roses placed on the top, as well as two strands of hair that framed her face. She quickly thanked Zoey, running off before she was going to be late.

Marinette caught up with Alya, chatting as they waited infront of the dining hall. Chloe Boujerois and Lila Rossi were talking with each other; most likely gossiping about other competitors.

Marinette ignored the glances they had gotten from both girls, continuing her chat with Alya. She saw Alya smirking infront of her, and she was very confused right until she got a tap on her shoulder.

Some other girls turned their heads, while some of them whispered. "It's that bluenette girl. She is the prince's favourite," Marinette overheard.

Marinette rolled her eyes at the other girls, and turned around to see the prince staring right at her. "Hello again," "Hey Marinette," he paused, "Sorry I had to run off the other night," Adrien apologized as she tossed him a quick smile. "It's okay-" "Hello, ladies," a voice interrupted.

Of course, it had to be Luka. Marinette looked at her flats, Adrien taking notice. "You okay Marinette?" she shot her head back up. "I'm fine," she replied quickly.

He half-smiled, both of them now looking at Luka. "Your majesty, you have to be in your chambers at 8:45," "For your private lessons?" he added as Adrien then sighed.

"Yes, that is still fifteen minutes away," he replied sternly, "I'll be staying here until then, unless I have anything else?" Adrien asked as Luka sighed. "I can move your meeting from eight forty-five to one p.m." he mumbled some math, "And move your piano lessons from one thirty to two o'clock if you would like,"

"That way, you can spend half an hour here," he compromised. "That's would be great," Adrien replied, Luka then walking off to make the arrangements final. He then reached out his hand to Marinette. It may have taken her too long to notice, but she grabbed it none-the-less.

His hand felt very warm, and it made her skin feel tingly where he touched her. Alya whispered something beside Marinette. "You go, girl! He totally loves you," she whispered as Marinette giggled under her breath.

"What's so funny?" he chuckled. "Oh, nothing," she replied with a smile.

"Hello, Adrien," Kagami interrupted, both of them whipping their heads to her. "Hey, Kagami," he replied, Marinette giving a small wave. "I reserved us a once restaurant tonight," Adrien cleared his throat, "Your assistant made time for it."

"I actually can't," she raised in eyebrow "I was going to tell him later on-" he then sighed. "I was going to take Marinette to the theatre, you don't mind, do you?"

The movies? Like a date?

Kagami froze but nodded her head. "Go ahead, I'll be waiting for you tomorrow," she walked off. Adrien turned his head to look at Marinette. "Surprise?" he said as Marinette kissed his cheek.

"A big one," she smiled widely.

Aww, some Adrienette fluff. See you guys soon!
