He's the oldest so he is in line to the throne. It's a responsibility that he takes very seriously, especially now that his father is dying. He really doesn't want this Selection but he's going to make the best of it anyway because he has to do it anyway.

He picked his bride wisely and has lived happily ever after. However now he is sick a lot and can't do much. You probably won't see him a lot.
