"Shh... Don't cry" Mummy tells me.

"But her dad just left her" I say between a few sobs while watching 'Wild Child'.

"Its just a movie Riya, plus he loves her"Mummy replies trying to console me.

"Bu-But mummy..."

"What's all the drama about?" Dad yells from the drawing room.

"I am teaching Riya Math and she's finding it difficult to understand. That's whats the drama about. Riya and her math problems" Mummy says immediately covering up for me, as always.
We look at each other and exchange smiles. She mouthed 'I love you'.

I don't understand why dad hated me so much. Mummy always told me that I was his favorite and that he loved me over anybody and anything. But I doubt her 'cos even my voice irritates him. What did I do wrong?
