Jesse's Pov:

I woke up next to dad, he is still sleeping. I decided to go for a walk. I left the dark cave and saw the sun rise. I smiled and started to walk to where my old house is. Even though the house was almost turn to ashes, there were still some things I could use. 

When I got there I saw a white shirt and blue pants that are being held with red suspenders.I grabbed them and saw that they were covered in ashes so I took them to the river to wash them. After a while I let them dry. I relaxed at the sun's shining light. After a hour the clothes were dry. I putted them on and hang the ones I was wearing for later. I than putted the hoodie on to hide my face. Luckily the hood wasn't burn with the other clothes I found. After that was clear I went to the west.

"I wonder if I can find those humans again, they seem nice. I guess father was right about humanity not be cruel all the way." 

I must have been lost in my mind for a long time because I was near the humans place. I backed away to run away.Even though some humans are nice I am still afraid to talk to them because I still ain't good with speaking with another human.

"There you are!" 

I turn around and saw the three human kids that I saw yesterday. Petra,Olivia and Axel I believe.

Petra's Pov:

Me, and Olivia were talking about the nervous kid we saw yesterday. He looked like he'd seen a ghost, I'm guessing it's because of the drama that happened with the Ocelots. I don't blame him.

"Hey guys."

Me and Olivia turn around and saw Axel walking up to us.

"Hey Axel" said Olivia with blush.

Axel walked over to us and we began to chat about the kid.

"I think he said his name was Jesse."Olivia pointed out.

"Name or not we need to find him." I said

"Yeah let go to the woods." Axel said.

We all went running to the woods. When we got there we began to search around the woods.

"Man, where could he be?" asked Axel

"I don't know, he probably lives farther away in the woods." answered Olivia.

"Your probably right, since w..." I stopped my sentenced when I saw a boy with the same hoodie the kid had. It must be him.

"Guy look." I pointed at him 

"That's got to be him." said Olivia.

We ran to him "There you are!" I yelled.

We saw him turn around as we stopped running. He backed away a little and stopped when he hit a tree. Why is he scared of us? 

"Don't worry we won't hurt you." I said with a smile.

Jesse's Pov:

"Don't worry we won't hurt you"

I wanted to run away to go back with dad.

"LIES!" I yelled "HUMANS ARE EVIL, THEY KILLED MY PARENTS!"

They froze as I began to cry, I don't know what to do. I wanted to see father, his hugs always call me down. I was about to run away when Petra hugged. I was shocked and surprised. For the first time in years I had never hugged a human or more like I was never hugged by a human. It was different from dad's hugs but I felt love and joy with the humans hugs. They were the same feeling, but different race. I hugged back as I began to cry harder.

"I'm sorry for your loss" said Petra as the others came for a group hug

"But, not every human is cruel in fact if we were cruel then we would just hurt you instead of cheering you." said Olivia.

"Yeah we are all friendly, except if they are cruel to us." said Axel.

I smiled after he said that. "I never had humans hug me in life." I said.

"Oh shoot did I said that out loud."

They all pulled away from the hug and stared at me with a concern look.

"Except my dad of coarse." I said quickly. I hate to lie but they can't know I haven't had human contact for six years.

"I thought you said your parents are dead?" He said

"Axel... He's talking about the guy who is his foster father." said Olivia.

"Oh"

I giggled at this and Petra chuckled. 

"So do you have any friends?" she asked.

"If my dad and animals don't count then no." I scratched my neck.

They all looked at each other with sadden looks on their faces. Then they all nod and smile at me.

"We could be your friends" said Olivia

I felt joy and fear in me now. "Really?"

"Yea, really." said Axel with a goofy smile.

"I'd love that."

We all got closer for a group hug. I had never felt so happy in my life. I guess dad was right about some humans being nice. I looked at the sky and I had to go back home. I let go of the hug and gave them a warm smile.

"I wish I could stay here longer with you guys" I say "But I have to go home now."

"Will you come back tomorrow?" Petra asks me. I nod "I promise."

After that I went to my path to home. Once I got there I told dad about what happened and he gave me a hug and huge smile.

"I'm proud of you" I looked at him with a confuse look.

"Why?" i ask him

"You finally made some friends, and not just any friends... Human friends. You normally hated humans but now you are starting to understand human nature even better."

I smiled at him. "Yeah, like you said... some humans aren't cruel."

"You didn't tell them about me and your powers right?" I shook my head

"No, not yet. I plan to tell them if they earn my trust."

"Very good... When do you plan to tell them?"

"I don't know... But what I do know is that it take years before they earn my trust."

Dad smiled at me. "Good, now lets go to sleep. A child your age needs his rest too."

I laugh at this, dad is always lazy, but I don't blame him. Taking naps are the best. I nod at him and and climb his back. I love to rest on dads back, it may seem uncomfortable but really it's not. It's like laying on the soft grass. I fell asleep a few moments after I laid down.

"Goodnight, my son."

"Goodnight dad."
