TWENTY-FOUR
S3 EP14: License to Fly
***
Henry
"Come on man!"
Ray shushed me for the hundredth time today. I wanted to fly the ManCopter, but Ray is being too stubborn about it and thinks I'm too young to fly it.
For the past maybe, five minutes, we kept arguing. It didn't take long for the both of us to start getting annoyed with each other, that's for sure. Ray's phone went off, and it was Charlotte and Aria who called.
"It's Charlotte and Aria. Go for me." Ray said, which made me roll my eyes at him.
Using my reflexes, I snatched his phone out of his hand because I was getting tired of him ignoring me.
He gasped, "Yo do not snatch my phone like that!"
"Will you please just teach me how to fly the ManCopter?"
"What have I told you about using your lightning fast reflexes to snatch my stuff?" Ray asked, once again ignoring me.
All of a sudden, two trash can hit our backs and we fell to the ground. I stood up, my back aching from the sudden force.
"Captain Man and Kid Danger, nice tutu see you." The Ballerino Brother in the orange said to the both of us.
"Well," Ray started, "if it isn't the two Ballerino Brothers."
"That's right, and our favorite dance is the Nutcracker." The two men pounded their fists together like they were cracking open a shell.
I turned towards Ray with my knuckles tightened together like I was about to fight.
"Okay, what about Saturday morning, you could teach me before work." I offered before fighting the Ballerino Brothers.
"You're too young to fly the ManCopter."
My eyes widened at Ray. Of course he has to criticize me on my age or what I do, because that's all Ray's about nowadays. He just doesn't think I'm trustworthy enough.
"Ohh," I started to walk backwards, "okay, so I'm old enough to help you beat up viscous ballet dancers, but I'm not old enough to fly the ManCopter?"
"It's not a question of age, it's a question of experience, training-"
"Uh, excuse me," The Ballerino in orange interrupted, "are we going to fight, or do you two need to see a couple of therapists?"
Ray started to walk forward, "Perhaps both, you dancing punks."
Ray and I started to fight again, and I know I should've dropped the subject, but it kept biting me so I continued to fight with him about it.
"If I knock out both these Ballerinos by myself, yeah, then you have to teach me how to fly the ManCopter."
"Kid you- okay sure. Tell you what. I'm going to sit over here, you fight these guys by yourself." Ray smiled, sitting on the 'no parking' brick.
Before I could retaliate back, one f the so called brothers hit me over the head with a metal box. I stood up and glared at Ray before walking to the man in purple.
I swung my arm up and socked him square in the face before kicking the one in the orange away from me. I got punched in the face by both of them, then I used my reflexes to sock the orange one, then to kick the purple one.
I picked up a trash can lid, holding it out in front of me as the Ballerinos tried to attack me. I smacked the orange one in the face with it, then the purple.
"You watching this?!" I called to Ray, throwing the lid over to the side.
"Yeah, hey Ballerino, try using this." Ray tossed a crowbar over to the man in purple.
"Hey, no no no, why would you-" I got short as he flipped me over to where I fell on my back.
"Hey, you can't help them-" I said, smacking the purple one, "beat me up." I smacked the orange one.
The orange one spun in front me so I dodged his kick, then used my reflexes to punch him in the face and throw him into the dumpster. I did the same with the one in purple, proudly walking back over to Ray.
"Hehe, now you have to teach me how to fly the ManCopter." I grabbed Ray's sandwich and took a bite out of it.
"No, no no."
I scoffed, "We had a deal."
"Yeah, the deal was you had to knock out both Ballerinos" Ray said, as if I didn't do that already.
"I did."
"No you did- look, that one's getting out of the dumpster right now!" Ray exclaimed, pointing
behind me.
Sure enough when I turned around, the one in orange started standing up. I opened the sandwich, throwing bread at his face, causing him to scream.
"Alright kid, you win."
I smirked, "I know."
When we got back to the Man Cave, I immediately ran up to the top of the building where the helicopter was. I smirked, jumping into the pilots seat.
"Move." Ray smiled as he walked up over to where I was sitting.
"What-"
He shoved me over so he that he could take control of the pilots seat. I gasped as he started to latch himself into the seat before I could object even more than I did.
"Now, flying a helicopter isn't for babies."
I rolled my eyes, "What's your point?"
"You should read this manual, cover to cover." Ray said as he pulled out a manual that I doubt he even read.
"Alright," I said, "I'll read that manual, if you swear on your life that you read that manual before you flew a helicopter."
"Okay, you don't have to read the manual." He said, throwing the book outside of the helicopter.
"Ow," someone screamed, walking over, "who threw this manual?"
"Uh, some guy." Ray accused me of hitting Charlotte with the manual.
"Charlotte, will you please finish up this diagnostic test so we can get this thing up in the air? Thank you."
"Oh sure," Charlotte said sarcastically, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to waste your guys time while pulling this manual out of my eye!"
"It's okay, apology accepted."
"Here's your manual." Charlotte threw the manual down onto Ray's area, causing him to groan.
We started arguing again as Ray was telling me what buttons to press and which one is hard to find. I flipped a button and the helicopter started.
"AHHHH TURN IT OFF!"
Aria walked over with her hair looking like a tornado blew through it. I held back my laugh as she glared at the both of us.
"Who started the helicopter?!" She yelled at us, her hands flying everywhere.
Ray started accusing me of starting it, which was true, but I didn't want Aria to go all psycho on me if I told her it was me.
"Henry, did you start the helicopter?"
I stuttered, "Uh maybe, I think so, I'm pretty sure, yeah, why does it matter, I didn't mean too, I'm sorry, I love you."
"Well, the next time you want to start a helicopter, I'd appreciate it if you'd please tell me so I can move my head away from the large spinning blades!"
I looked her, "I'm sorry, I love you."
"Yeah okay."

Aria
After Charlotte had a book thrown at her eye, I got my head almost chopped off by the helicopter blades, and a soda bottle almost hurt us, we went back to Junk N' Stuff.
"They really don't like to listen, do they?"I asked Charlotte as we walked up to the doors of Junk N' Stuff.
"Does it look like they ever listen?"
I nodded my head at Charlotte, opening the front doors. My mouth fell open, noticing the whol floor was almost covered in cotton candy.
Charlotte and I walked in, looking at each other, "Nope!"
"Wait," Jasper called after us, "Aria, Charlotte, help us!"
"Don't help me, I'm fine!" Piper yelled over the loud noise of the cotton candy machine.
"What happened in here?"
The whole floor was covered in cotton candy, and I swear to god, I thought I was in heaven. I'm pretty sure Piper had the same idea as me.
"We turned on the cotton candy machine, and now we can't turn it off!"Jasper yelled over the noise.
"Well, how much cotton sugar did you put in there?" I asked him before Charlotte could.
"These two jugs, and about eight more!"
I looked at Charlotte who brought her hands up to her head in aggravation. I grabbed him by his collar and snarled at him.
"Why are you so stupid?" I growled under my breath to him as Charlotte tried pulling me away.
Jasper and Charlotte were thinking of a plan as I ate some cotton candy along with Piper, who stood on the ledge of the stairs by the door.
The three of us carried all the cotton candy outside of the store as it mounted up higher and higher.
"Moving a thousand pounds of cotton candy is hard work." Jasper complained as I tried pulling the sweetness off my shirt.
"Thanks for that, captain obvious." I glared, smacking him upside the head.
Charlotte smirked, "Well, you know what would make it easier next time?"
"What?"
I finished up Charlotte's sentence, "If you don't dump the entire jugs of cotton sugar into the cotton candy machine all at once."
"You know,"Jasper looked at us both, "anyone can criticize."
"Yeah, but we're really good at it." I smirked, following Charlotte back into the store.
"I'm going to go see how my dad and Henry are by seeing if I can call them."
I went down to the Man Cave to get my phone, which I left in my room. I called Henry a few times, but it ended up going to voicemail, same with my dad.
I sighed, pacing back and forth waiting for someone to text or call me back. Like my phone heard me, I had a text from Henry.
Henry: Meet me on the roof, I have a surprise.
I smiled, running up the stairs to get to the roof of the building. I pushed open the door to hear a loud sound of helicopter, and Henry dressed as Kid Danger.
"Want to take a ride?" He smirked, yelling over the noise and pointing to the seat next to him.
I smiled again, running over and hopping over Henry's lap to get to the seat. His hand fell onto his area as he shifted uncomfortably.
"Now Ray definitely can't stop us." He leaned over, pressing his lips against mine before he took the helicopter in the air.
