Chapter#2
Tug gave a warning huff as a stranger creeped quietly into the stables. Bobbing his head as if to warn whoever it was not to mess with him and Abelard.
The person, dressed in dark clothing and a hood gave no heed however. Pressing on as they glanced around the shed like barn. Only giving slight attention to the ponies.
"You're not supposed to be here." A voice suddenly stated, startling them as they whipped quickly around.
They gave a slow chuckle, a slight grin on their face. "I was supposed to come, have you've forgotten Arratay?" The figure replied, letting a piece of their long, brown hair fall out of the hood.
The Ranger shook his head. "Go back to where you belong." He muttered, getting out some feed for the horses. "Which isn't here."
"You have forgot who I am haven't you?" The woman said with a sigh, running a hand through her hair.
"I'm not that old, Savea." Halt retorted with a frown. "You yourself should know that."
She gave a shrug. "Sometimes it's hard to know with you. You'd act like an old man even if you were thirty." Savea added with a sly smile.
He gave a shake of his head, ignoring her for a moment. When would that woman ever learn and leave him be? Then, giving his horse an affectionate rub on his muzzle, he turned back around. "You can't come, there's three Rangers already on this mission. Myself included, so we need no more."
She rolled her eyes. "Oh, yeah. I forgot. You were never fond of large groups."
" You will eventually need me, mark my words Halt. You will."
And why would that be?" He asked, watching her turn to go.
Savea gave a shrug. "You'll find out. I know you're smart enough." She walked out the back way, heading down to the path .
"Goodbye old Ranger," Were her last departing words. "For now"...
