Chapter 60

AUTHOR'S NOTES:
I offer you my most sincere apologies, I lost track of the days, and thought today was Thursday. Again, sorry for the late update.

So let's just cut to the chase, if you like my story please vote, feel free to comment, and share this story with your friends. I now present to you chapter 60. Enjoy.

Immediately after getting their pokemon healed they all went out to dinner, Queen Ilene's treat, to celebrate how well they all did. Even Paul came, reluctantly.

Paul wanted to keep training his pokemon for his battle with Ash tomorrow, but Miette felt he and his pokemon needed to also get plenty of rest so that they wouldn't be too tired or sore from the intense training. So when Paul refused she decided to take advantage of his one weakness, Reggie. Miette acted as if she gave up on trying to change Paul's mind, and said she was just going to call Reggie to talk to and keep her company. As Miette started walking towards the video phones Paul picked her up, slung her over his shoulder, and carried her to the restaurant. Miette protested being carried at first, saying it was undignified, but after she realized one of Paul's hands was grabbing her thigh, very close to her butt, she decided to just enjoy the ride.

Following the dinner everyone was relaxing in the pokemon center lobby, except for Ash, Serena, Paul, and Miette. Paul decided to try and get some sleep, while Miette decided she was going to tease Paul with some new lingerie she bought and just walk around in their room wearing only that.

Ash was sore from the damage Greninja received from his match, so Serena offered to give him a massage. Ash immediately started feeling better as Serena's nimble fingers would press and rub his sore muscles. Ash was thoroughly enjoying the massage, until Serena asked him to roll over so she could massage his chest. Ash's eyes widened, he was down to his boxers, and Serena was straddling him. Ash was embarrassed, as he knew as soon as he rolled over, Serena was going to be able to clearly see how much he was enjoying the massage.

It was late now, the battle between Ash and Max ended hours ago. Most of Lumiose City was asleep, as several box trucks pulled up to the loading dock at Prism Tower. Out of the cab of each truck came two Team Flare grunts. They went to the back of the trucks and rolled up the doors, to reveal more grunts, scientists, and a lot of equipment. The equipment was being unloaded when a Team Flare surveillance truck rolled up, and out came the officers; Aliana, Bryony, Celosia, Mable, Xerosic, and the Team Flare leader Lysandre.

"Are we in yet," Lysandre asked a grunt, who was busy bypassing the security system and getting the door open.

"Almost... and done. We're in," replied the grunt.

"Very good. Now get everything up to the Lumiose Gym. And be careful with that equipment," said Xerosic.

Several grunts, along with a few scientists, pushed three carts loaded with equipment inside and onto a freight elevator, then pushed the button for the gym.

Upon reaching the gym floor the group of Team Flare members proceeded to the door.

"Attention, the Lumiose City Gym is currently closed, and will remain closed through the duration of the Lumiose Conference. The gym will reopen upon the completion of the the Conference," said a robotic voice when they tried to open the door.

One of the scientists then proceeded to a control panel and began working to open the door. Within a minute the door opened, and inside, in the middle of the battle field stood a figure. The lights then came on to reveal Clembot standing there.

"The Lumiose City Gym is closed. You are trespassing, leave now or force will be used," warned Clembot.

The grunts then proceeded to release multiple pokemon.

"Threat leave increased. Defending gym," Clembot said as it raised both arms in the air.

Clembots hands quickly retracted, then three pokeballs fired from each arm. The pokemon that emerged were, an Emolga, two Magnemite, Magneton, Magnezone, and Heliolisk.

"The gym is being threatened, defend the gym. Attack," Clembot told the pokemon.

Back at the loading dock they were loading more equipment onto the elevator when a voice came over the radio.

"Were up at the gym and need immediate back up," yelled one of the Team Flare members over the walkie talkies.

"Well it seems the gym leader left his gym protected," Xerosic commented.

"Bryony, Celosia, get up there and deal with the problem," ordered Lysandre.

The two girls nodded, ran to the elevator, and headed up. Upon reaching the gym door, they saw the gym pokemon battling the grunt's pokemon, and winning. Only Emolga and one of the Magnemite had been beaten. They saw Clembot rapidly giving precise instructions to the electric pokemon, as no human trainer could. They aimed their laser guns at Clembot and fired. The two beams hit Clembot in the chest, but didn't effect it, only brought attention to their presence, making the situation worse.

"Acting gym leader has been attacked, threat level increased," Clembot said.

It then started walking towards Bryony and Celosia. Clembots hands quickly retracted into its arms again, but this time two short rods came out with balls on the end. The rods then started sparking with electricity. One of the grunts tried hitting Clembot with a wrench, Clembot didn't look at the grunt, but fired a bolt of electricity at him. The grunt screamed in pain then fell the the floor unconscious.

Clembot then proceeded again towards the female officers, only to be this time hit by a Mightyena. Clembot looked at the Mightyena, then started walking again. Clembot had been programmed to defend the gym if needed, but not to personally attack pokemon.

Celosia and Bryony saw this and quickly released their pokemon.

"Manectric, Drapion!"

"Liepard, Bisharp!"

The two officers ordered their pokemon to attack Clembot with various attacks. However Clembot showed he was not the average robot, as he jumped up in the air, skillfully dodging the attacks, however Clembots luck eventually ran out. Bisharp came up from behind with the blades on his elbows glowing light blue, and took off Clembots head using guillotine.

Clembots body crashed into the ground, as the head rolled towards the exit  and stopped at Xerosic's feet. He bent over and picked up the head and began to examine it.

"Impressive piece work. Take the body and put it to the side, I want to examine this later," said Xerosic.

Upon defeating the gym pokemon, they were returned to their pokeballs, and placed by the door. Two grunts picked up the body and moved it by the door, placing the head and pokeballs with it. The grunts then began their work on assembling some sort of machine, as Clembots eyes began flickering, and were facing the machine.

BOOM BOOM BOOM

Fireworks exploded in the air above the Lumiose Conference stadium. Today was the last day of the Lumiose Conference, the final battle only minutes away.

"Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the Lumiose Conference finals. We've had some amazing battles that have all brought us to this final battle, between these two extraordinary trainers," said the announcer, who stopped to give the audience a chance to cheer before continuing.

"Now is the moment we've all been waiting for. Let's bring out our two trainers! First, in the blue corner, from Veilstone City in the Sinnoh region, Paul Shinji!"

The audience cheered as Paul walked to his station. Paul walked out coolly, not acknowledging the audience. He was focused on the battle at hand, his eyes locked on station where Ash going to be.

"And in the red corner, from Rota in the Kanto region, the prince of the Cameran Palace, Prince Ash Ketchum!"

The crowd cheered with excitement as Ash walked to his station. Unlike usual, Ash didn't acknowledge the audience. He was focused on his battle as well, his eyes zeroed in on Paul. Out of all of Ash's rivals, Paul was the strongest, and the only trainer he had faced that could match his pokemon's strength.

As they both walked the battle field raised. Once it was in position it was revealed to be a grass and rock field. Randomly throughout the grass field several large rocks jutted out of the ground, ranging from three to six feet tall and three to four feet across. The referee then took the field, walking from a platform off to the side.

"This will be a six on six match, no substitutions. The battle will be decided when all six of a trainers pokemon are deemed unable to battle. After three of one trainers pokemon are unable to battle there will be a battle field change. We will now determine which trainer will release the first pokemon," announced the referee pointing to one of the screens at the end.

A circle with eight sections alternating between red and blue, with a white needle appeared on the screens. The needle began rapidly spinning, then slowed, then stopped.

"The red trainer, Ash Ketchum will release the first pokemon," said the referee.

Ash was frustrated, choosing the wrong pokemon could put him at a severe disadvantage. And with Paul being his opponent, he wanted every advantage possible. Nevertheless he had to go first. Ash reached back, thinking of each pokemon he had with him, hoping to make the correct decision. Ash grabbed a pokeball and enlarged it, he looked at the pokeball, then Paul, then pulled back and let the pokeball fly.

"Sceptile, I choose you!"

Sceptile took the field and immediately went to a battle stance as he stared down Paul, waiting for his pokemon.

Paul removed the pokeball from his belt and threw it.

"Drapion, prepare for battle!"

Upon seeing Drapion take the field, many of Ash's fans were nervous for him, but not his friends. They knew that Ash showed how great a trainer he was when the odds were stacked against him.

"Both trainers ready?"

Ash and Paul both nodded.

"Battle begin!"

"Drapion rain poison needles from the air. Cover the field!" Paul called out.

Drapion opened its mouth and began firing hundreds of purple darts into the air. These darts then began to rain down onto the ground.

"Sceptile counter with bullet seed, don't let them hit you!" Ash ordered as he saw Sceptile was going to be hit.

Sceptile opened his mouth as yellow seeds surrounded by a green aura rapidly fired out like a machine gun. The seeds were able to successfully destroy any dart that was going to hit Sceptile. Once Drapion was finished, and the last darts had either landed or were destroyed, the aftermath was seen. Almost the entire battle field was covered in purple darts, the biggest area clear was around Sceptile. Luckily Sceptile wasn't hit, so he wasn't poisoned, but the area around him was small, so if he tried to dodge or try and attack at close range, he would have to go through the darts and take the damage and become poisoned.

"Cross poison!"

Drapion crossed its claws in front of its face as they glowed purple. It then slashes its claws in X pattern, sending a purple X right at Sceptile.

Upon hearing the attack Ash clenched his teeth as he tried to find a way out.

'Sceptile could block with another attack, but he can't stay on defense forever,' Ash thought.

Then as the attack fired Ash saw several fairly large spots clear of the darts, the rocks.

"Sceptile jump to one of the rocks to dodge, then attack with leaf storm!"

Sceptile managed to jump right before the attack would have hit him. As he jumped hundreds of leaves surrounded by a green aura formed around his tail as he prepared to attack. Sceptile landed on the rock with his tail facing Drapion, and fired the leaf storm. The tornado of leaves lifted Drapion up into the air, and then slammed him on the ground. Being resistant to grass types the leaves didn't do as much damage as being slammed back onto the ground.

"Drapion fill that open space up with poison sting," Paul commanded.

Drapion quickly got back up, opened his mouth, and filled the space where Sceptile once stood with purple darts.

It was now that Ash realized the position he and Sceptile were in. There was no room to touch the ground without being poisoned. The only way to move was by jumping from rock to rock, and only two were in range for Sceptile right now, meaning Paul could easily target where Sceptile was going to be.

"Sceptile use agility to jump from rock to rock," Ash called out, hoping to keep Sceptile from being a stationary target.

Sceptile was jumping quickly along the rocks, making himself a blur.

'We can't keep this up forever, eventually were going to have to attack. If it wasn't for the poison ground frenzy plant would be an option to finish this quick. All Sceptile can do are ranged attacks because of the poison sting, unless,' Ash thought as he had an idea.

"Sceptile jump onto Drapion and use leaf blade with both arms," Ash yelled.

"Poison fang," Paul yelled.

The two leaves on both of Sceptile's forearms glowed green as they came together to for a single blade on each arm. Sceptile then jumped up into the air towards Drapion, and saw its claws out ready to grab him as its fangs glowed purple.

Drapion jumped up to put itself level with Sceptile and tried to grab him. Sceptile swung his right arm forward, slashing Dapion in the face with the first leaf blade. The attack knocked Drapion back onto the ground. Sceptile then landed on Drapion's back and slashed it with both leaf blades, then jumped back off towards another rock.

"Drapion sludge bomb. Destroy that rock!" Paul yelled.

Drapion opened its mouth and fired several brown blobs from its mouth. The blobs past Sceptile, hit the rock, and destroyed it just as Sceptile was landing. The blast blew Sceptile back onto the poison sting darts that were in the ground. Sceptile cried out in pain as dozens of the purple needles pierced his skin and poisoned him.

Sceptile clenched his teeth as he strained to get up. Normally poison sting didn't do too much damage, but Sceptile being a grass type is weak against poison type moves. Not to mention more darts pierced his skin than with a normal poison sting attack, so he was in alot of pain right now.

Ash looked at Sceptile and clenched his teeth. Sceptile hadn't taken any hits yet, but landing on all those poison stings put a lot of poison in his body. Ash could tell Sceptile wasn't going to last much longer, so he had to finish this now.

"Sceptile use leaf storm to shoot yourself high into the air and charge up your solar beam," said Ash.

Sceptile nodded, and used lead storm. The tornado of leaves sent him high up into the air, higher than the stadium towards the sun. All the while the seeds on Sceptile's back start to glow as it gathers energy from the sun.

In the suite
"I don't understand, why did Ash have Sceptile shoot up like that," Serena asked.

"No doubt to avoid Sceptile being attacked. With all that poison in his body, it probably going to take Sceptile longer to build up the attack," explained Clemont

"Also the sun should blind Paul and Drapion enough so they can't attack, while also helping Sceptile build up the power a little quicker since being closer to the sun," Brock added.

Back at the battle
Finally the solar beam was at full power, and Sceptile was ready to finish this battle. Ash saw this and gave the order.

"Launch your self at Drapion and fire. Then finish him with leaf blade," Ash yelled out.

Sceptile then redirected the leaf storm and took off at Drapion, then opened his mouth and fired his attack. The beam was too fast to dodge and hit Drapion, making a large explosion. Sceptile redirected the remains of his leaf storm to blow away the dust, and saw Drapion still conscious as it tried to get up. Sceptile then did as instructed and prepared to use leaf blade. Once in range he swiped with both blades, knocking Drapion back, and unconscious.

"Drapion is unable to battle."

Sceptile landed in the clear spot where Drapion once stood, standing proud of his victory. Then the poison took affect, and Sceptile fell to his knees, then face down on the ground.

"Sceptile is unable to battle."

Both Ash and Paul returned their pokemon and thanked them.

Seeing as Drapion was declared unconscious first, Paul had to send out the first pokemon this time.

"Aggron prepare for battle!"

The large steel armored pokemon emerged from his pokeball with a crunch as he landed on the field, the poison sting darts breaking under his feet, as he gave a powerful battle cry.

Ash looked at Aggron as he thought about who his next pokemon would be.

'Ok, whose turn is it going to be? Aggron can mega evolve, which normally wouldn't effect my decision much, but this is Paul's so I'm not taking any chances. The field will be a problem, most of my pokemon will be poisoned the second they land on the field. I've got two good choices, but one if them would be best,' Ash thought to himself.

Ash grabbed his next pokeball from his belt, enlarged it, and threw it to the battle field.

"Lucario, I choose you!"

Lucario emerged from his pokeball with a howl, and instantly took a battle stance upon landing on the battle field. This was his Kalos League debut, and he was not going to let Ash down.

Paul looked over at Lucario and quickly saw the mega stone in the bracelet on his wrist.

"Hey Ash, let's not waste our time here and just go all out without holding back," Paul yelled over as he showed his key stone.

Ash smiled as he understood what Paul meant and revealed his key stone. The two trainers then touched the stones and mega evolved their pokemon.

"Battle resume."

"Lucario use extreme speed with close combat," Ash called out, trying to take advantage of Aggron's weakness to fighting types.

Lucario became surrounded by a white aura, then charged at Aggron at blinding speed. Lucario slammed into Aggron, sending it sliding back several feet, then proceeded with use close combat, throwing punches and kicks at Aggron at high seed.

"Iron tail," Paul yelled, trying to break the attack.

Aggron's tail glowed white as it turned and swung it at Lucario. Lucario jumped up to dodge it and continued close combat while moving around.

When it came to pure strength Aggron was stronger, however its size made it slower. Lucario was much smaller and faster, making it easier for him to dodge and launch quick powerful strikes.

Paul became irritated by the beating Aggron was taking, then he had an idea.

"Use earthquake!" Paul yelled.

"JUMP AWAY!" Ash yelled to Lucario.

Aggron jumped up into the air, then slammed right back down causing the whole battle field to shake.

Luckily for Lucario he jumped up in time to avoid the attack.

"Mud-slap," Paul calls out.

While Lucario is still in the air, Aggron slams both of its fists into the ground. The two streams of mud come from the ground and hit Lucario before he can land. Lucario hits the ground on his back.

"Earthquake again," Paul commands.

Once again Aggron jumps up into the air and slams down causing the whole battle field to shake. This time Lucario isn't able to dodge and is hit by the attack.

"Aggron, time for your Z move," Paul said as he pulled a small white crystal out of his pocket and placed it into the bracelet on his wrist.

Ash's eyes widened as he remembered the electric type Z move giga volt havac. Paul and Aggron then performed several synchronized moves, then several beams of light left the crystal and went to Aggron.

"Get ready to dodge," said Ash.

Lucario shook his head, "Master, I wish to face this attack. I heard about these moves from Greninja. I want to try and block it."

"Ok then. In that case focus punch to block," Ash responded.

Lucario then took a side stance to brace himself. He pulled his right fist into position as it gathered energy and glowed with a white aura.

Aggron's body glowed with an orange aura. "BREAKNECK BLITZ," Paul yelled.

Aggron then took off at incredible speed for Lucario. Right as Aggron was about to collide with Lucario, Lucario threw his focus punch. The attack hit Aggron in the stomach and stopped it dead in it's tracks. The force of the two attacks colliding resulted in the ground breaking under Lucario's feet and them sinking down several inches. Lucario then finished extending his arm, sending Aggron flying back several feet and landed on it's back.

Everyone in the stadium was in a state of shock, as they saw Lucario repel the powerful attack. After Aggron was sent flying, Lucario dropped his right arm to his side and grabbed his shoulder.

'Lucario are you ok,' Ash asked via aura.

'My shoulder, its dislocated,' Lucario responded.

Ash's eyes widened. He looked past Lucario and saw Aggron struggling to get back up. Upon seeing this Ash was beginning to fill with fear for Lucario.

'Lucario, Aggron is still in this, you can't continue in your condition. I'll recall you, you did great," Ash said as he reached for Lucario's pokeball.

'No Master. I can fix this, and finish this match," Lucario responded.

Ash allowed Lucario to continue and reattach the pokeball. Lucario walked over to one of the larger rocks as he rotated his shoulder into place. Once at the rock he lined up his shoulder, leaned back, then slammed his shoulder into the rock, putting his shoulder back in place, and knocking a chunk of it off in the process.

Lucario then stood up tall as he walked back in front of Ash and moved his arm around at the shoulder to loosen it up.

Everyone was amazed by Lucario's strength and resolve. Even Paul stood there and looked at Lucario with respect and amazement.

Once in position Lucario took a battle stance and stared down Aggron. Despite outward appearances, Ash could tell Lucario didn't have much left. Blocking a Z move was just too much for him. Luckily Aggron didn't look any better, it couldn't stand up straight and was breathing heavily.

"Alright Lucario this is it, one last attack should do it. Aura sphere," said Ash.

"I don't think so, body slam," Paul responded.

Lucario put his hands close together and began forming a blue ball of aura between them. Meanwhile Aggron used the last of his strength and jumped up into the air.

Aggron's shadow loomed over Lucario getting bigger and bigger. Lucario's aura sphere was also getting bigger. Then the aura sphere finally was ready. Lucario released the aura sphere right into Aggrons chest at point blank range.

There was a large dust cloud made from the attacks. Everyone was holding their breath as they awaited the outcome. Soon the dust was settled, and Lucario was seen underneath Aggron, both with swirly eyes.

"Both pokemon are unable to battle."

Ash and Paul both once again returned their pokemon and thanked them, then grabbed the next pokeball.

"Magmortar, prepare for battle," said Paul as he released his pokemon into a space clear of poison darts.

"Charizard I choose you!" Ash called out as he released Charizard into the air.

"Battle resume."

Both trainers and pokemon looked at the battle field. Despite the intense battle between Lucario and Aggron, there were still a lot of poison darts left behind from Drapion. Paul expected this and worked it into his strategy, however he was now having second thoughts, as Ash has proved to be able to work around the issue.

"Charizard, use flamethrower on the ground. Destroy all the poison darts on our side," Ash ordered, knowing if Charizard were to be knocked out of the sky they would be an issue.

Charizard opened his mouth and a mighty flame came out destroying every needle on their half of the field.

"Magmotar, you do the same on our side," Paul commanded, wanting to ensure his pokemon wasn't going to have to deal with it if Ash's wasn't.

Magmortar aimed its arms to both sides and fired two streams of fire, destroying the darts.

Performers and coordinators alike took note of the effects of this, as the darts turned the flames purple when they burned. Soon the fire types were done, leaving the field black and smoldering. Now it was time for the battle.

"Charizard, fly in and use slash," Ash called out.

Charizard, who was still in the air, started flying straight for Magmortar. His claws glowed white and longer as he flew in. However Magmortar didn't move, and Paul wasn't calling out any orders. Ash was sweating, he could tell Paul was up to something, but he couldn't just sit around and wait. Charizard dropped down and was only about a foot off the ground and was only a few feet away when Paul spoke.

"Thunder punch," Paul yelled out.

Ash's eyes widened as he hears this and sees both of Magmortar's fists start sparking with electricity.

"Charizard dodge it," Ash yells.

But it's too late. Magmortar blocks the slash with one thunder punch, then punches Charizard in the face with the other fist, knocking Charizard away and smashing into a rock.

"Charizard are you ok," Ash yelled out.

Charizard got back up and gave Ash a thumbs up. Then glared at Magmortar, angry about the effective hit.

"Magmortar, rock tomb," Paul ordered.

"Charizard, use dragon tail to send those rocks back to Magmortar before it can use them."

Magmortar aimed both its arms at the ground and fired a purple circle out of each. Then a large gray rock emerged from each. However before Magmortar could do anything with them, Charizard came rushing in with his tail glowing green. He then hit one, then the other, sending both of them crashing into Magmortar.

"Keep up the pressure, dragon tail on the ground then use it to send those rocks at Magmortar," Ash commanded, trying to keep some distance because of Magmortar's thunder punch.

"Magmortar counter with hyper beam, then follow up with thunder punch," Paul commanded.

Charizard slammed his tail hard into the ground, bringing up several large rocks flying up into the air. Charizard then starts sending them towards Magmortar.

Meanwhile Magmortar aimed both of its cannon like arms at Charizard and the rocks, as a pail pink energy built up at the ends. Then just as the first rock was about to hit it, Magmortar fired the hyper beam. The rocks along its path were all destroyed on its path to Charizard.

"Charizard, fly up to dodge," Ash cried out.

But it was too late, the hyper beams hit causing a large explosion. As the dust settled Charizard was seen breathing heavily, but still standing. No sooner than Charizard was seen still conscious, that Magmortar was seen rushing through the dust with its fists sparking with electricity. Before Charizard could react, Magmortar started beating Charizard with thunder punch after thunder punch.

"Block with steel wing, then follow up with dragon rage," Ash yelled.

Both of Charizard's wings glow white, then he moved them in front of him to block another thunder punch and to push Magmortar back. Charizard then opened his mouth and formed an orange ball of dragon energy, then fired it, sending Magmortar flying back upon impact.

Ash looked over at Charizard to see he was breathing pretty heavily, but looked like he could still put up a good fight. Then he looked over at Magmortar, and it was slowly getting up. He glanced up at Paul to see the look on his face, but instead saw him digging into his pocket and pulled out a small red crystal.

"You've got to be kidding me," Ash cried out in frustration.

Then Paul and Magmortar then started doing some synchronized moves.

"Charizard, quick, blast burn," Ash yelled.

Charizards tail flame instantly grew larger than him, he then opened his mouth a fired a massive ball of fire.

The fire ball raced towards Magmortar. Ash looked over and saw a large yellow and orange fire ball forming in front of Magmortar. Ash thought he might have beaten him, that the blast burn was going to hit first. But then Magmortar punched the fire ball and sent it flying, even faster than the blast burn, towards Charizard.

A second later and Magmortar was hit by the blast burn, engulfing it in a firey explosion. A second later and Charizard was hit and also engulfed in a firey explosion. Leaving the whole battle field clouded with smoke.
