It's been a few days since the gang left Lavarre city and were cleaning up from enjoying lunch in a clearing before starting off again to Dendemille Town. Since leaving both Ash and Serena had been training hard every day for their next showcase and gym battle. This behavior only made everyone agree they were perfect for each other. Watching them like this though would make Bonnie a little sad, as she missed Max, and hoped they would run into him again soon. As they were returning their Pokemon they heard a yell, "Lucha!" Hawlucha yelled pointing. The gang followed and saw Ash's Pokemon egg was glowing. "What's happening?" Bonnie Asked. "It looks like it's getting ready to hatch." Korrina stated. Ash ran to the egg and removed it from the incubator and held it in his arms as everyone including the Pokemon gathered around to see it hatch. The egg shakes and cracks, shakes some more and cracks some more, until a small furry black and purple Pokemon emerged. The Pokemon looked up and saw Ash smiling down at it. "Noi." The Pokemon said happily as it jumped out of the rest of the egg, and grabbed onto Ash's jacket hugging him. Ash dropped the egg giving it a light hug back. "AWWWW WHAT A CUTIE! What is it." Bonnie squealed. Serena scanned the Pokemon with her pokedex and learned it is a Noibat. At the same time Noibat turned around because of Bonnie's squeal and saw everyone looking at it, it then became scared and buried it's head back into Ash's chest and started emitting ultrasonic waves, causing everyone to cover their ears. "Noibat calm down, everything's ok." Ash said to Noibat while putting a hand on its head, this calmed Noibat. "Hmm, it looks like Noibat sees you as it's parent." Clemont observed. Then a smirk appeared on Bonnie's face, "So I guess you could say that Ash is Noibat's father right?" "I guess you could." Clemont replied. Korrina formed a devious smile on her face as she picked up on where Bonnie was going with this and decided to carry it further, "in that case couldn't you say that Serena is Noibat's mother?" Serena's face went bright red from this comment. "Well that would make sense." Clemont replied nonchalantly, not having any clue as to what Bonnie and Korrina were up to. "You hear that Serena you and Ash are parents already!" Bonnie exclaimed. Both Ash and Serena were blushing, "Serena, you don't have to be Noibat's mom, unless you want to of course." Ash said nervously. "Actually, I kind of like the sound of being Noibat's mom, if you would let me." Serena replied even more nervously with her head tilted down and eyes looking up at Ash. Ash walked up to Serena, put his hand under her chin and tilted her head up so she was looking right at him, "then I guess we are Noibat's parents then." Ash then leaned in and kissed Serena. After they broke the kiss Ash looked down at Noibat, "Ok Noibat it's decided, this is Serena," Ash said pointing to her, "and she will be your mom and I'll be your dad. Together we will be your parents." Noibat let out a happy cry as he jumped to Serena nuzzling his head in her chest.

Then cried out again with ultrasonic waves, causing almost everyone to cover their ears. "Shhh shhh, Noibat what's wrong." Serena said comforting Noibat as she petted it's head. This caused Noibat to calm down. "Could he be hungry?" Serena asked. "That would make sense, new Pokemon usually do need to eat shortly after being born." Clemont stated. With that said Pikachu and Dedenne ran up a tree and brought back down some fruit. Serena set Noibat down in front of the fruit and let out quieter ultrasonic waves at the fruit, but then shook his head. "What's wrong, don't you like them?" Bonnie asked. Noibat shook it's head again, "noi noi." "I think he said the fruit isn't ripe." Ash said. "You think? I thought you could understand pokemon speech?" Korrina questioned. "I can, but can you always understand a young child? Noibat is still learning to talk, it's going to take a little while before it's completely clear." Ash explained. Everyone nodded in understanding. Then the rest of the Pokemon spread out and gathered a bunch of fruit from the surrounding trees and brought them to Noibat. Noibat used it's ultrasonic waves again to check the fruit, once it found a good piece it happily picked it up and ate it. After it was done it looked up and tried to fly, but didn't make it very far before it made a rough crash down, letting out ultrasonic waves once again making everyone cover their ears. Ash and Serena ran to Noibat and comforted it. "Wow, you two have this parenting thing down already." Said Bonnie. "Yeah, you two will be great parents when you have your own kids." Korrina said teasing. This caused both Ash and Serena's eyes to nearly pop out of their heads and both of their faces to turn very bright red. This caused the others, including the Pokemon to laugh a little bit. Ash thought quickly and changed the subject, "Hey, Fletchender, Hawlucha. Since you two are flying types, why don't you help out Noibat on learning to fly. Since we are all a family he is kind of your little brother." Both Pokemon puffed out their chest with pride as they flew over and talked with Noibat. Noibat then jumped out of Serena's arms and tried to take off like Fletchender. He was able to get off the ground for a little bit but couldn't stay up. Before he started crying again Hawlucha stepped up and spoke to him. Then Noibat followed Hawlucha as he got a running start before jumping up and taking flight. Noibat was able to get up easier, but still crashed. The Pokemon kept working with Noibat, and he did make improvements, but still kept crashing. Upon his most recent crash Noibat let out ultrasonic waves in frustration.

Serena picked Noibat up and comforted it, shortly after Noibat calmed down, he then had a look of fear and terror on his face. "What's wrong Noibat?" Serena questioned. Noibat responded in Pokemon speech frantically, but no body understood. Then Pikachu's ears perked up and his cheeks sparked. Ash noticed this and used his aura to look around, and what he saw even scared him. "Everyone let out your Pokemon now." "What's going on?" Clemont asked. "We are being surrounded by alot of Pokemon, and judging by their auras, they don't seem friendly." Ash explained. Just then everyone could hear a loud buzzing sound coming from all around. Everyone quickly released their Pokemon and had them form a perimitor around them, even Dedenne joined the Pokemon. Bonnie clenched tight onto Clemont as Korrina got close to Bonnie's other side to protect her and Ash took Serena's arm and pulled her and Noibat behind him. When he did this she looked at him and saw a look of determonation on his face. Ash saw Serena looking at him and smiled, "don't worry, I'll protect you. No matter what." He then leaned in and kissed her. Just then a massive swarm of beedrill, looking to be in the hundreds, emerged from the trees surrounding them and began their attack.

Attacks were flying all around as the Pokemon were defending their trainers from the beedrill. The beedrill were mostly using pin missle, but when one could get close it would use twineedle. Serperior would use leaf storm to try and block pin missle and keeping the beedrill back. When a beedrill got close Hawlucha and the Korrina's fighting types would take them out since they specialized in close range attacks. The battle continued with the beedrill appearing to be endless. Eventually Noibat got too scared and tried to fly away. Noibat was actually able to get past the beedrill successfully. "Noibat, come back." Serena screamed when he got away. Serena then ran after him. "SERENA!" Ash yelled when he saw Serena running after Noibat. He and her Pokemon tried to run after her but were blocked by the beedrill. Now Ash got a piece of the action as he formed an Aura sphere and threw it at the cluster of beedrill in front of him injuring them and causing them to fly off. Ash tried to run through the opening made, but it was closed by even more beedrill. Ash grit his teeth knowing they would have to deal with the beedrill before he could go after Serena and Noibat.

Noibat was terrified from the massive battle that was taking place, he could still hear the explosions in the distance and wanted to get as far away as possible. He was now attempting to fly down the trail away from the battle. His only problem on his mind was his lack of flying ability, he could only fly a few feet before he crashed back down, but would get back up and try again. "Noibat, where are you?" Noibat heard someone calling out for him, but not just anyone, it's was Serena his mother. Noibat stopped flying away and looked back and saw Serena running towards him. Noibat looked down and started to cry, now disappointed in himself for running away and leaving his parents behind. Serena caught up to him and after catching her breath picked him up. Noibat expect Serena to be mad at him for putting her into danger, so he was suprised when she hugged him. "You were scared weren't you. Aww, you poor thing. It's ok, I'm here." Noibat looked up and saw Serena looking down at him with eyes that showed not the slightest bit of anger, but instead worry and relief. Noibat then started crying even more, until they both heard a loud buzzing noise. Serena turns around and looks up and sees a beedrill coming right at them. Noibat, eager to make up for running away uses supersonic causing the beedrill to become disoriented and crash into a tree. "Good work Noibat." Serena said praising Noibat. Noibat smiled, proud that he was able to protect his mother, "Noibat." Just then four more beedrill emerged from the bushes on either side of them. Upon seeing this Serena took off running as fast as she could with Noibat in her arms.

Serena ran as fast as she could, and at first that was enough. However now she was getting tired and the beedrill were catching up, that's when she saw a cave up ahead. Knowing the cave was her best chance to get away she ran into the cave, hoping to lose the Beedrill inside. Aside from the light coming from the entrance it was pitch black inside, so when the little bit of light from the entrance suddenly disappeared she know the beedrill were there. Serena didn't want to dig through her backpack for her flashlight yet with the fear that it would show the beedrill where she was. Soon enough she found a large rock to hide behind, as she did so she could hear the buzzing of the beedrill coming closer. Serena held Noibat close, ready to use her body as a shield to protect him. Luckily it wasn't necessary as the beedrill gave up, the buzzing sound becoming more and more distant with every second. Only after the buzzing was completely gone and the cave was quiet did Serena finally relax, leaning backwards expecting her butt to hit the ground, but it didn't.

"Aaaahhhhhh!" Instead she unknowingly was on a ledge and just leaned back and fell off, falling about fifteen feet before hitting the ground, twisting her ankle as she landed. "Owww, ahhh. My ankle it hurts so much." Serena cried. "Noi." Noibat said worried about Serena. "I can't see you Noibat are you ok, say something if your ok." "Noibat." Serena breathed a sigh of relief knowing Noibat was ok. She then dug around in her backpack looking for a flash light. "Where is that...oh there it is." Serena then turned on her flashlight and began to look around the area, only to see how far she fell and another tunnel that looked like it was blocked off by a cave in. "Well it looks like the only way we are getting out of here is the way we came." Serena then looked up the rock wall leading to the ledge she fell from, "there's no way I'll be able to climb out of here, especially with my leg like this." Serena then turned to Noibat, "your going to have to fly out of here and find Ash and the others and bring them back here." "Noiii." Noibat said shaking, nervous about leaving Serena there, also that it may run into more beedrill. "Noibat, I know your scared, but it's the only way." Noibat nodded, looked up and began flying up and out of sight. "Good luck Noibat."

Back with Ash and the others. "Frogadier water pulse, Pikachu thunderbolt." Ash commanded. The two attacks hit their targets defeating the remaining beedrill. "Alright, now that that's taken care of we need to find Serena and Noibat." Ash's eyes then turned blue as he tried to look for them. "That way, one of them is heading our way, I think it's Noibat." With that said everyone returned there pokemon and started running in the direction Ash pointed, with Serena's Pokemon near the front as they were worried about their trainer. After a few minutes they saw Noibat flying towards them, clearly struggling to stay up but still managing to do it. Noibat saw them and flew straight into Ash's arms. "Noibat are you ok, where's Serena?" Noibat then frantically started pointing down the trail while trying to tell Ash she was hurt, but due to his age Ash was still unable to clearly understand his words. Thankfully his behavior was enough to get his point across. "Are you saying Serena is in trouble?" Ash asked. Noibat nodded. "Alright let's go then." With that Ash took off running as fast as he could with Noibat still in his arm.

After a few minutes Ash and Noibat arrived at the entrance to the cave, followed by Braxin, Pancham, and Amoura, and lastly Bonnie and Korrina as the were trying to help Clemont keep up. "Ok Clemont this is ridiculous, from now on your working out with me every morning. With us concentrating on your running." Korrina told Clemont as he was hunched over trying to catch his breath, unable to respond. Ash pulled out his flashlight, "Braxin, put a flame on the end of you stick and use it like a torch to help light out way." Ash said as he started to walk into the cave. The others noticed this and pulled out their flashlights as well, Clemont even showed his backpack had a small search light on an arm attached to it, it proved to be much brighter than anyone else's light. They carefully walked into the cave with Noibat leading the way until Noibat perched himself on a rock and started flapping his wings frantically. Ash started to run over, but soon saw the ledge and came to a quick stop near the edge. Ash then pointed his flashlight down over the ledge and looked. "SERENA!" Ash yelled when he saw her at the bottom. "Are you ok?" "I twisted my ankle when I landed I can't even stand." "Just hang on, I'll get you back up here." Ash looked around looking for a safe way down, "grrr, the walls are are too smooth to climb, and i can't see any other ledges on the way down." Ash said after checking the area. "What about your apom arm Clemont?" Asked Bonnie. "Its too far down, it won't reach." Clemont responded. "I got it. Serperior, I choose you." Serperior emerged from her pokeball tired, but still ready for whatever Ash asked of her. "Serperior, Serena fell down there and is hurt. I need you to use vine whip to carefully pull her back up. Serperior nodded and went over to the ledge, looked down to see Serena, and extended her vines to Serena. She then wrapped her vines around Serena and carefully pulled her up, and gently placed her back down on the ground. "Serena!" Ash ran up to her and wrapped his arms around her holding her close to him. Serena in turn hugged Ash back and melted into the hug, loving being in his arms after the scary incident. Ash then thanked Serperior and returned her, then picked Serena up bridal style and carried her out of the cave. While making their way out Ash let out a little chuckle. "What's so funny?" Serena questioned, slightly annoyed Ash was finding anything humorous about the situation. "Its just that this isn't too different from how we first met. Me finding you with a hurt leg." Serena's eyes widened, he was right. Serena blushed a little, "saved again by my Prince Charming."

Once out of the cave Ash set Serena down at the base of a tree near the entrance. Ash then went down to Serena's hurt ankle, and put his hands on it as his hands and eyes glowed blue. "I'm sorry. I used too much aura against the beedrill. All I could do was partly heal it." Ash said disappointed in himself. Serena leaned forward and put a hand on his cheek, "Ash don't talk so negatively about yourself. If you didn't have your Aura ability you wouldn't have been able to heal it at all. And like you said you used your Aura defending us from the beedrill. So thank you," Serena leaned in and kissed him. After they broke the kiss Ash smiled, "Thanks, I needed that. Ok, now there was a Pokemon center close by right?" Ash asked the group. "Its a couple of miles down this path. By my calculations it would take us abour two hours to get there. But with Serena's ankle hurt, I recommend we set up camp and go in the morning." Clemont stated. "Nope, we go now." Ash stated. "But Ash Serena can't walk." Said Korrina. "Then I'll carry her." "Ash, I know your strong, but you'll have to carry her for at least two hours. I just don't think your that strong." Clemont stated. Ash smiled, then scooped Serena up in his arms bridal style again, "I could and would carry Serena all around Kalos like this if I had to. Now let's go." And with that said Ash started walking down the path. Then Noibat flew over and landed on Serena's stomach and curled up for a nap. "By the way Serena, can you tell me what happened after you ran after Noibat?" Ash asked. Serena smiled and told the story as they made there way down the path. "Wow, you really worked hard to protect Noibat." Ash commented when Serena was done telling the story. "Well I did say I would act as his mother." Serena replied as she petted Noibat, who was asleep on her stomach. "If you'll work that hard to protect a Pokemon I can't wait to see how you'll be if we have children." Ash's comment caused everyone to freeze in their tracks except for Ash who didn't seem to realize what he just said. So Bonnie being the way she is, decided to tell him with a big smile and hearts in her eyes, "Ash, are you saying you want to make babies with Serena already." Now Ash realized what he said and froze, with eyes wide. Ash tried to explain, but he couldn't get any actual words out, only noises and syllables. Serena leaned up and kissed Ash, then looked at him warmly, "it's ok, I think I know what you meant."

The rest of the walk to the Pokemon center Ash was very quiet, embarrassed from what he said. Bonnie and Korrina took up most of the conversation as they wouldn't let the topic rest. Serena kept quiet as well as she thought about the idea of having a family with Ash, which was a long term dream of hers. After a little more than two hours they arrived at the Pokemon center, and like Ash said he carried her the whole way. After they walked in nurse joy started to panic after seeing Serena being carried in and insisted on checking her ankle. Thanks to Ash using his aura nurse joy determined the Serena's ankle wasn't badly hurt and recommended only icing it and staying off of it for a day or two. It was evening now, Clemont was working on dinner, Bonnie was playing with the Pokemon, including Noibat who had warmed up to everyone. Ash layed Serena down on a couch in the Pokemon center lobby while her ankle was being iced and was pretty much waiting on her, tending to her every need, while she and Korrina just relaxed and enjoyed some conversation with one another. "Serena is there anything else I can do for you?" Ash asked. "No Ash. You've done more than enough already. Please sit down with me and relax a bit." "I will soon. I need to call home and rotate my Pokemon. I still haven't officially caught Noibat yet because I already have six Pokemon with me and I don't want him to go to Rota yet." "Ok, after your done I expect you to take it easy with me before dinner." Ash then leaned in and gave Serena a few quick kisses on the lips, "looking forward to it." With that Ash walked off to another room where the video phones were and closed the door to the booth so he could have some privacy, and dialed the number. The phone rang only a few times before the Palace receptionist answered. "Ah hello Prince Ash, need to swap out Pokemon again?" "Yes but first, is Queen Ilene up still?" "Yes she is, would you like to speak to her first?" "Yes please." "Ok, I'll transfer you now." Ash took a deep breath to try and slow his heart rate down as he waited for the Ilene to pick up, for this was about the biggest decision Ash has ever made and probably ever would. Then finally Ilene's face appeared on the screen, "Hello Ash how are you?"
