Chapter-9
My arm was still hurting me, but the pain was considerably left.
We had managed to cover some distance but not much because Cali hadn't wanted to leave me injured while zombies attacked because that would have meant one fighter less. No matter how rude she was, she was smart, I had to give her that.
Zeno and Ana were learning to fight together on Cali's orders because she was the only one who'd had less experience. Because I had nothing else to do, I got up and climbed into the front seat next to Cali.
She was studying that blueprint yet again and raised her eyebrows when she saw me but didn't yell at me. I took that as a good sign.
"Have you found some way to enter the labs?" I asked, my voice sounding tired even to me.
To my surprise, she looked worried.
"No." she admitted. "I've decided that we'll make it up as we go along."
"Sure," I said. "It would be super easy to steal a rare cure from a highly guarded lab with an impromptu plan."
She glared at me and I grinned. I would pay her back for that princess comment.
"Axel," she said softly, surprising me yet again. I'd never seen her speak like this. She was always ordering people about.
"What?"
"About Harry-"
I sighed.
"No! Listen!" she said. "I know you don't like him and I don't either. But would you rather he kidnap other people and torture them? He's dangerous and he needs to be killed. I want some information from him and you want him dead. We'll track him down and do it."
As much as I hated to admit it, she was right.
"When?" I asked.
"Soon," she said, looking relieved. "But first I'd like to try and get the cure ourselves."
I nodded.
"Now, get out," she ordered. "I need some silence."
I groaned and began climbing out. Cali turned to me.
"And Axel?"
"What now?"
She grinned.
"Ask Zeno to load Bad Baby up. We're gonna need lots and lots of bullets."

Zeno was really pleased with Cali's orders and grinned at me.
"Now we're gonna have some fun with those zombies Axel," he said, clapping me on the back and nearly toppling me over.
Cali drove at full speed and Ana helped her and took turns driving.
My arm was still hurting me, so there was nothing much I could except sit and clean all the knives and weapons. It turned out to be an important thing to do- and a smelly one as well.
We'd never bothered cleaning them before and they were dirty enough to cause an infection. I spent the rest of the day wiping them down.
Zombies only attacked us twice, which was quite shocking considering the number of times we were attacked everyday.
At around midnight, Cali turned off the engine and climbed out. All of us stared at each other before climbing down as well.
We'd reached Central Wulfaria.
