I felt really mad. I had explained to him that it wasn't my fault and he still grounded me . Even though I do not go out much, this punishment stung because it was unfair.

I was getting ready to argue with all my might, when dad explained that it wasn't like that.

" Even Tess is grounded. I dont want you to get this contagious disease that has been spreading all over town. It has stumped doctors - and no cure has been found yet. "

"Dadddddd!"screamed Tess. "Its not fair! I want to meet all my friends. We were going to the mall tomorrow. And then to a movie . And then there is that sleepover at Lara's house . And then..."

Believe me , my sister's only 13 but her schedule is packed. And her social life is way busier than mine will ever be. You should see the way she is surrounded at school by her friends.

Oh that reminded me.

"What about school? Are we allowed to go?"

" Yes." Said Dad. "There has been no cases of this disease reported at any school. You will just have to be a little more careful. "

"But I saw a guy today , lying in a pool of water and he even lashed out at me. Thankfully, I missed his hand by inches."

Mom and Dad looked worried .
"You will miss all the work . " Mom chimed in. "I think you should go. After all, nothing serious has been reported yet ."

Tess looked relieved . I knew she would DIE if she didn't see any of her annoying friends for one single day.
And yeah I wasn't that excited about going to school . I could not sleep in now. Great.

We had dinner and then I went to my room. I threw myself on the bed. I felt drained today - I don't know why. I was beginning to doze off , when I remembered that I hadn't done my homework. Mr. Kinsley would kill me if I didn't turn it in tomorrow.

With a groan, I pulled myself off the bed. I felt mad about procrastinating now. Why-oh-why didn't I complete my work on time?

I settled on my desk and started working. After some time I looked up from my work, and out of the window.

And then I looked again.

There was a really weird zombie like man standing in front of our house . He had white, mottled skin and his teeth were bared , displaying his rotten gums. His clothes were badly torn and his face was covered with blood . He must have sensed me staring -  because he looked straight at me and howled.
I screamed .
