Jayk was still talking to the dukes when something in the corner of his eye grabbed his attention. When he turned to look he felt his heart skip a beat. He saw the man push Haylee over the railing and he knew that he had to do something fast.

An overwhelming feeling overcame his body and he felt his bones within him change. It only took him a moment to realise that he had transformed into a fire breathing dragon. It wasn't a second later when his enormous wings started to push him off the ground and he was flying straight towards Haylee's falling figure.

Seconds later he was above Haylee. He used his huge claws and gently grabbed her in his hold.

'I got you' Haylee heard Jayk's voice before she felt huge claws surrounding her body. Suddenly she stopped falling and when she looked up she saw a gigantic dragon the size of a truck covered in blue scales.

A smile spread over her face. She was awed by this huge beast.

"Jayk!! You're a dragon!!" She screamed.

'I know' he said with a chuckle in her head.

Haylee was so focused on the dragon who caught her that she didn't notice Ryhan and Baelon also transforming into dragons and flying to the two figures on the balcony. Ryhan grabbed Jack and Baelon grabbed Magnar before all three dragons went back to where they were talking with the dukes minutes prior.

Jayk gently lowered Haylee to the ground before landing next to her. Baelon and Ryhan was less gentle with there cargo. Ryhan and Baelon immediately transformed back into their human form after they landed, but Jayk didn't because he was to busy checking Haylee for injuries.

"Are you alright?" He asked with his husky dragon voice as he looked her over.

She walked closer to him before she gave him a grin.

"I'm now," she said as the adrenaline still raced through her body.

Jayk gave her a wide smile showcasing his razor sharp teeth before he turned towards the man who had thrown her over the railing.

"Seize that man!" Jayk growled. All the knight ran towards Jack, but Haylee quickly jumped in front of him.

"What are you doing?! This man almost killed you!" Jayk snarled.

"Jayk, my father isn't behind this. He was forced to push me because he is under Magnar's control." All eyes turned towards Magnar who was trying to get away. Baelon who was the closest  grabbed him in his hold and held him tight. He took off Magnar's ring which held his dragon fire and the hold on Jack was immediately released.

Jack sagged to the ground on his knees. And Haylee rushed to help her father. Jayk gave her a look and she quickly told everyone what happened in the tower. Jayk quickly transformed himself back into human before he listened to Haylee explaining what happened.

"So you see Magnar was behind all the murders." Haylee said as she finished her tale.

"How could you?!" Jayk said as an angry expression took over his face. He had to stop himself from attacking Magnar then and there.

"You're going to believe a lowly human brat over me?" Magnar said as a collective growl could be heard from all the dragons.

"I believe the truth!" Jayk exclaimed.

"We are suppose to rule the human! We can expand this realm!" Magnar screamed.

"No, your greed has overtaken you. I think the dukes will deal with you. The dukes will decide your punishment." The dukes' knights came forward and grabbed Magnar. They already had the perfect punishment in mind. Magnar was dragged away while begging and screaming for mercy but his pleas fell on deaf ears.

Haylee rushed towards Jayk and grabbed him in a hug.

"Thanks for saving me," she said.

"I told you I will always be there for you. Now can I kiss you? Because I'm pretty sure I heard you telling me you loved me while you were falling," Jayk said with a smirk. She rolled her eyes before she grabbed his face between her hands and smashed her lips to his. All the armies cheered and the dragon knights let out wolf whistles. Jayk grinned against her lips as he heard the noises around them.

When they pulled away from each other the knights grabbed them in hugs. All of them glad that everything turned out great. The dukes with their armies cheered for their king and queen. All was as it should be.

Haylee looked at everyone around her and felt at home. This was where she belonged and she knew right then that she would do anything to protect her home. And her family.

Her eyes scanned through the crowd before she saw her father giving her a smile. She completely forgot to introduce him to Jayk during the excitement. 

She quickly grabbed Jayk's hand and dragged him to her father.

"Jayk, I want to introduce you to my father Jack." Jayk stretched out his hand and Jack took it in his before they shook hands.

"Thank you for saving my daughter. And taking good care of her. I'm sorry about everything I've done." Jack said.

"Don't worry about it. Magnar is the one to blame for everything." Jayk said.

Jack gave him a grateful smile. But his smile soon turned into a grin as he saw his four hunter brothers emerging from the forest. The four brothers rushed over and tackled him in a hug. They all were relieved to be released from Magnar's hold.

Jack introduced Haylee and Jayk to his brothers Sam, Harry, Ben and Nick. Jayk made his way to the centre of the huge crowd with Haylee beside him. He quickly quieted the crowd down before he called Jack forward.

"My people, today it is my honour to declare peace with the human realm and the hunters who protect them. From today onwards we and the humans will be allies." Jayk took out a piece of paper and pen from his pocket before he wrote the following:

I, Jayk Ash, King of the Hidden realm, hereby declare the human realm and the Hidden realm to be allies. Signed Jayk Ash.

Jayk signed his signature before he gave it to Jack, Ryhan and the rest of the four dukes to sign it. After that they all shook hands and the agreement was sealed.

In the middle of the joyous occasion Jayk pulled Haylee aside.

"Haylee, I love you with all my heart and I realised today that things in life is never certain. And life can change in a moments notice. That is why," he said as he got down on one knee.

"Why I want to ask you to be my wife and my queen. I know that I can't live without you by my side and I know you will make me a stronger ruler."

Haylee was shocked beyond belief. She did not expect this to happen. Not in the slightest. She was dumbstruck and at loss for words.

All the creatures of the Hidden realm held their breath as they waited for Haylee to give her answer. The knights and Ryhan were bursting from excitement. This was the moment they've been waiting for since they discovered that Jayk was Haylee's mate.

Jayk got worried. Why didn't she say anything? Was she thinking of saying no?

"Haylee, say something? Preferably yes." He said and he could hear the crowds' laughter around them.

"Jayk..." Haylee said and Jayk's heart dropped.

"I would love to marry you," she said as Jayk stood up and grabbed her in a hug before spinning her around. The crowd went wild and that night a great feast was held to celebrate the day.

Campfires burned late into the night as dwarves, elves, faeries, skinchangers, humans and dragons celebrated not only their alliance with the humans but also their queen and king.

Haylee and Jayk sat in a tree high above looking down at the festivities below. There was a relaxing atmosphere in the air.

Haylee sighed as she watched the party down below. Her head rested against Jayk's shoulder.

"Jayk?"

"Hmm?"

"How did you transform into a dragon?" Haylee asked.

"I have no idea. It was like my dragon fire took control. I don't know how. It's like it has a mind of its own. I guess it's the secret of the dragon fire. " Jayk said.

"Well I'm grateful for it." Haylee said.

"Me too," Jayk said as he placed his arm around her shoulder and drew her closer.

"Can I ask you a question?"

"Sure, Hayzy."

"How long do you think this peace will last?"

"I would hope forever, but how long this peace will last no one knows exactly. But the future is not for us to know. All we can do is live in the moment. And that is what we will do. We live moment to moment and whatever may happen we will handle it together. Because together nothing can stand in our way." Jayk said as he and Haylee looked down below to the kingdom he loved since he was a young boy and she learned to love.  They both knew that together they will do whatever it took to protect their kingdom and the people in it. Because for now peace reigned and humans and creatures were once again allies, but for how long?

Only time could tell.
