The shock hit Lily and Rose like a tidal wave. They hadn't even known Damian had a sister. How could they have missed something so huge?

Eve stepped inside, her eyes darting around the house as if she were sizing up their lives. She settled into a chair, her baby still nestled in her arms.

Eve: "He never told you about me, did he? Typical Damian. Always hiding things." She gave a short, bitter laugh.

Lily: "What do you want from us?"

Eve's expression darkened.
Eve: "I want to know what happened. I want the truth. Because Damian... he's gone. Disappeared. And before he left, he told me about you. About your children."

Rose and Lily exchanged a glance, their hearts pounding.

Rose: "He's... gone?"

Eve: "Yes. And now I'm left with his mess. But here's the thing: I don't believe everything he told me. I think there's more to the story." She leaned forward, her voice dropping to a whisper. "And I'm going to find out what you're hiding."
