6 Months After the Incident

Max’s Pov

It was early in the morning, Katie had already left, and it was just Duke and me like usual. Duke and I were sitting on the couch watching television.

“Hey Duke. I’ve been thinking, it’s been almost six months after the incident. Don’t you think we’re in the clear?” I asked, laying on a pillow.

“Well, I’m not sure…” Duke said before I interrupted.

“Oh come on, we haven’t left the apartment in awhile.”

“Yes we have Max.”

“Ok we have, but that’s only with Katie and the dog walker. Even then, Snowball’s bodyguards have been watching us from a distance.”

“Max…”

“Oh please Duke. I need fresh air. We can at least just walk around the block.”

“Fine Max. Just the block, then back home.”

I got up excited as ever. It’s been so long since I’ve actually been outside, actually it’s only been a day but that doesn’t matter. I’m a dog, I need to be outside. I went to the window to ask Gidget if she’d like to join us.

“Gidget! You there?!” I called out.

It took a while before she responded. “Hey Max. Whats up?”

“I was wondering if you would like to join Duke and I for a walk around the block?”

“Max, I’d love to but today my owners are taking me to the vet in like an hour or , or when they wake up. Anyways isn’t that gang still after you?”

“Well I’m not sure actually, but I hope not.”

I began to lean closer to the window ledge, since I was still pretty excited for a walk.

“Well you should still be careful. I wouldn’t want my precious Max getting hurt.”

When she said this I felt so distracted thinking about Gidget that I slipped off the edge of the window. I fell face first onto the metal grate of the fire exit. When I got up I felt dizzy but was able to shake it off.

“What did I just say.” I heard Gidget giggle out.

“Well I was distracted by your soothing voice.”

Gidget began to blush. I began to take a few steps forward, then I slipped again, still distracted by Gidget. I was hoping to land in the same spot but not this time. This time I fell down the stairs, hitting every step on the way down. I felt so much pain in all of my body on every bounce. Once I got to ground level, my vision was so blurry. All I was able to make out was a small white blur walk up to me. That was the last I saw before blacking out.

The last chapter is finally copied and written. Now I can continue this story. It would have taken me probably the end of this week until I finished, but thankfully mikemkke034 helped me out and sent me the chapters via Google Docs. So shoutout to him.
