Max's Pov

"So...wait let me try to rationalize what you said. You want me and the others to go out to a party, or club as you said, not Pop's place, to have more fun?" I asked Snowball.

"Exactly!" he replied. In case you're wondering, I met up with Snowball in front of his place, and he just asked if I was okay with EVERYONE going out to have fun, since it's now 2017. But the thing is we did that like before then into New Years, so why?

"Wh- I-...I'm still confused."

"...Really. Come on! I said it loud and clear."

"I know what you said Snowball. I'm just questioning, WHY AGAIN!?"

"Because it's still the week of News Years, and almost everyone agreed. Well the guys did."

"Ooohhh, soooo, it's like a boys night and girls night out, but the girls stay home together. Got it. Still though, what if something happens to Gidget, and I'm not there to do anything. Or something happens to me!?"

He rolled his eyes clearly annoyed.

"Bruh, Max, I'm your best friend, if something happens to you, then...it's your fault."

"What the ffff...wouldn't it be your fault?"

"Nah. I was gonna say karma, because you killed Viper, and I forgave you don't get mad. But karma got you when you got attacked by that other dog. So, then, it would be your fault. Plus you have a choice to go or not."

"...You know what? Nevermind. I'll go."

"Alright now let's go meet up with-."

"But there's only Gidget and Chloe. To me, that doesn't sound the least amount of fun."

"Ohhh, that won't be for long. Lets go now."

I looked at him curious to what he means as he turns to leave.

"What does that mean?"

"You'll soon find out. Come on. Everyone will be meeting up at your apartment." He started to hop away.

"Wait!" He stopped and turned around annoyed.

"Bruh! What!?"

"Why my place?"

He simply smiled and said,"Because we always do, and Duke suggested it."

He continued hopping to where I lived. I rolled my eyes as a sign of "of course" and followed him.

Snowball and I just arrived at my apartment and we saw Duke, Gidget, Chloe, Buddy, Mel, Tiberius, and...who are they? I saw a red Siberian Husky, a Pesquet Parrot, a Tonkinese cat, and another white bunny. They all were females from the looks of then, but who were they? This must be what Snowball was talking about.

"Hey Snowball!" the parrot said. "Who's your friend?"

"You know them?" I asked Snowball.

"Yep," he replied. "The Pesquet Parrot is Velvet, the Tonkinese cat is Katherine, the red Siberian Husky is Autumn, and the white bunny is Snowflake, also my girlfriend."

"Hi!" they all said.

"Wait what!? Girlfriend!?" I yelled.

"Yes!" Snowball replied, rubbing his ear. "I met her on the day you got messed up."

"Of course you did."

"So what now?" Mel asked.

"Well if it isn't obvious, it's us guys going out and the girls staying at Gidget's," Buddy said annoyed.

"It's like a boys and girls night out," I said.

"Yep. I'll lead us guys since I know where it is," Snowball said.

"You better be careful," Snowflake said to Snowball. She kissed him on the cheek.

"Oh yeah I-I will, promise," Snowball said, blushing.

"A red cheeked bunny, that's new," I said.

"You should be careful too, Max," Gidget said. "I don't want you to get hurt again."

"Oh come on!" I exclaimed, "What's the worst that can happen?"

So, the guys and I just left and the girls are staying at Gidget's. I'm not entirely sure if this is such a good idea, but It won't scar me for life. We arrived at the club called...

"The Dawg House?" I asked, confused.

"Yep. It's known for-."

"I don't care," I cut Snowball off.

We walked up to the bouncer. It was one big Bull Dog and I did not want to mess with him.

You know here's a question. I thought. How can animals even run a club?

"Name?" he asked.

"Snowball," Snowball said. The bouncer looked on the clipboard between his legs.

"Your on the V.I.P, so your in," he finally said.

"Can I also have my friends join?"

"As long they don't cause any trouble.

"We're all in guys!"

We all walked in, and what I saw had my jaw to the floor. I saw seizure inducing lights, a bunch of animals all partying like it's still the day before New Years, and I even hear music like Drake or something in the background. Now, to be honest, this looks so much better than Pop's, but can cause a lot more trouble.

"Well, what do y'all think!?" Snowball asked.

"I'm thinking, WHY ARE WE STANDING HERE!?" Duke yelled. "LET'S PARTY!"

For hours we had a great time! All of us had fun! There was a dance and singing contest and Snowball did both! It was exciting! The music never stopped! It was like an endless party!

So, right now Snowball and I were at the Snack Bar as our friends were still partying. Both having a drink of Apple Cider.

"*sigh* This was a fun experience," I said to him.

"Yep," he replied.

"Do you do this often?"

He smiled. "Well I used to, with Ricky. Man. Him and I would always go out, partying, causing trouble, starting fights and winning them, having fun. It's the thing we both loved to do the most."

"Do you miss those days?"

He frowned sadly. "Yeah I do. You have no idea how much it hurt me when I lost him. He wasn't always all savage. He had a heart. He only killed one human too, because the human threatened to kill him and all animals who came in his way. He respected most humans, and so did I, until that one day, we both went out to save a couple of our animal brethren at a meat shop who was thought to be sick and to be put out of their misery. We managed to get them all out, but Ricky was caught by a butcher. I was outside listening as he struggled to escape. Then all of a sudden, chop went the knife and the sound of quacking stopped. That's the day when I despised humans and wanted revenge, but then I met Molly, and she changed my mind. And my heart. Also I got you now to hang out with, Max."

I looked at him in surprise. Me?

"T-thanks Snowball. That means a lot to me."

"Man stop it before I get all mushy, too." We laughed.

He raised his glass of cider and said, "To the secret life of pets."

"To the secret life of pets." I did the same. Then we drank all that was left.

Snowball got up from his spot and said,"Hold up. I got to use the bathroom. BRB." He hopped his way to the men's restroom.

I just sat there thinking about a lot of things. I have a great owner that cares for me. A girlfriend that loves me. Friends that adore me. I have almost everything. Almost.

"Well hello there," someone interrupted my thoughts.

I looked to see a female Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with a smile on her face, batting her eye lashes at me.

"Uh hi," I said, a little confused.

"You seem a little happy right now. What's on your mind?"

"Well a lot of things. Kinda hard to explain though if your wondering."

"Hahaha. I don't mind. Name's Angeline."

I smirked. "Hmph. Well Angeline, what's a pretty lady like yourself doing in a place like this?"

"Huh, I could ask you the same thing," she looked at my collar, "Max."

"Well I'm just having fun. Never been to a place like this before."

"Me neither. But I'm also looking for fun. How 'bout a dance?"

"Uh I'm not sure if I could do that," I said nervously.

"Oh come on. It'll be fun." She pulled me by my collar to the dance floor and she started dancing. I stood there not sure if I should. Then she started looking in my eyes and I looked back into hers. I don't know what was happening. It was like I was lost in her eyes. And before I knew it, I started dancing as well. We were dancing with each other for the time being, until the music switched to a slow beat.

Everyone was slow dancing and so were we. It was going on for a short time, but while I was dancing with her, it felt like a while. She layed her head on my shoulder and I did the same, as any dog would with their lover. We stayed like that a little longer. My heart was beating fast. My breathing was rugged. We both look stared into each other's eyes. I lost my train of thought. Then all of a sudden, she kissed me. I had no control of my body. My mind was telling me pull away, but my body seemed to say otherwise. I finally kissed back, and from then on my mind was shut off. And the last thing I remembered was hearing Angeline say, "Lets have a little frick frack."

Ooh, cliffhanger! What has gotten into Max, and who is this Angeline? Also what's gonna happen next. Well you'll have to wait till the next chapter. I just want to say thank you guys for over 2000 reads! It's amazing! I never thought I would reach that far, and it makes me soooo happy! You guys are great. So, if you want to see more, there will be another chapter coming up, but since I'm back in school, updates will be longer. I'll try my best to update faster.
