Chapter 2. Pop, Bang, And Sizzle.
Who do you see as Zander or Sarah? Comment who you see!
(Personally I don't 'see' anyone in particular, anyone else relate?)
~•~
Pop!
"Haha! Eat my plastic!"
Gina comes around the corner, shooting nerf gun bullets at me. I quickly ninja roll behind the couch, reloading in the process.
"You can't escape this time. Just admit defeat and let me pick the movie tonight!" Gina yells from the hallway.
"No way! You'll pick another sad movie!" I yell back before sneaking around to the kitchen. I sneak up to her figure standing in the hall, looking into the living room. More than likely trying to find me.
"How would you know?! Let me pick the movie!" She has yet to notice me so I take my chance.
"Maybe next time." With that said, I point the gun at her. She turns around quickly as I fire one dart at her forehead, hitting the target we both have taped to our heads.
"Dang it, Sarah!" Gina sighs, dropping her gun to the floor.
"Haha! Captain America it is!" I dance around in victory.
"I guess I'll get the popcorn." Gina laughs at my stupidity, shaking her head in the process.
I think it's obvious that we're not normal, but it just makes our time spent together even better.
Half an hour later, Gina and I were braiding each other's hair, while Captain America plays in the back ground.
"So, did you see how the new guy was looking at you?!" Gina sighs dreamily, totally forgetting about my braid.
"I doubt he was looking at me. Probably was looking at you, and all your hotness." I laugh, starting on braiding Gina's hair.
"Oh no, Honey. He was definitely looking at you!"
Scoffing in defiance, I finish braiding Gina's hair.
"Don't scoff at me! You, yourself know it's true!"
"Meh, it doesn't really matter." Laughing, I roll over, preparing to go to sleep. I definitely won't tell her he actually talked to me, especially if that was her reaction!
"Pfft, to you it doesn't!" Gina scoffs, rolling over too.
"Yes, that is true! Goodnight GiGi, love you."
"Love you more, SarSar."
We both fall into silence, drifting into dream land. I think about the mystery boy.
Was he really staring at me? He couldn't have been, could he?
~ The Next Morning ~
"Sarah! Hurry up or we're gonna be late!" I hear Gina yell up to me from the kitchen. Rushing around to get ready is not the best thing to do in the morning. In fact, it's pure torture. Unless, you're a morning person, then please teach me your ways.
I run downstairs, tripping on a few on the way. Running into the kitchen, I sigh in relief.
"Oh good, there's still bacon left!"
Gina laughs at me, getting up from her chair. "Hurry up and eat, we're gonna be late."
"Alright, alright! Geez, woman calm down!"
We rush out to her car, speeding off to school, probably breaking the law on the way.
We arrive at school, singing our lungs out to Katy Perry's song 'Hot and Cold'.
Parking, I hop out of the car.
"Fudge, Gina! Hurry up or we're gonna be late!" I hurry to Gina's side of the car, yanking open her door.
"Goodness, woman! Let me finish putting on my mascara!" She laughs at my worried face. Finishing up her mascara job, she jumps out of the car. BANG, the door slams shut and we hurry our way to our classes.
Gina, I guess you could say would be your somewhat typical 'Girly Girl'. She loves to shop, do make-up, and fan-girl over hot guys. Yet she's still a total nerd in school. She's the perfect mix between cute and awesome.
I, on the other hand, am not what one would categorize as a 'Girly girl'. I'm more into bands like Fall Out Boy and Panic! At The Disco, rather than, One Direction and 5 Seconds Of Summer. Although, I do like some of their music. It's not that I hate being a girly girl - it's just that I literally suck at it. Ya girl can't even curl her hair without help, it's kind of pathetic I know . . .
I'm what you would call, I guess, a 'Loner' or 'Loser'. My only friend is Gina, and when I joined this school two years ago, I didn't fit in as well as the other kids. Gina was the preppy/nerdy girl at the back of the class, who, much like myself, didn't fit in. So, we easily connected and became best friends.
"Okay, see you later, Love!" Gina yells at me while running off to her first class. Yet another day in paradise.

It's time for home ec. and I have yet to see Zander. Maybe he's sick or something.
"Alright class, today we'll be making a simple omelet. Take out your fry-"
Mr. Barns was cut off by the opening of the door.
"Sorry I'm late, I was held up at home."
"Very well then, please take a seat next to . . . Miss Jones! Please raise your hand!"
I raise my hand, blushing furiously. Again, why me of all people? Can't they see I like working alone?!
"Take a seat, Mister Mills. We'll be making omelets today."
Zander makes his way towards me. Taking a seat he looks over at me and smiles.
"Guess we're partners now, cupcake."
Oh the irony.
"Yeah, I guess so." We take out our frying pans. I start mixing the eggs when I hear a very loud and obnoxious SPLAT.
"Oops." Zander cheekily smiles over at me, with egg all over his hands and shells in the pan.
How did that even happen.
"Oh my, let me clean that up!" I rush over, trying to frantically make sense of the situation. It takes me a few minutes to clean up the mess around the pan, then I realize that our time is quickly running out, all the other students have flipped their eggs and are in the process of putting them on their plates.
Mr. Barns was coming our way, ready to taste test our omelets.
"Oh no, it's not ready yet!"
I start panicking, flipping the omelet and completely forgetting about the egg shells. It'll just have to do. I quickly put some cheese in the middle and then put it on a plate, pushing it to the edge of the table for Mr. Barns.
Zander smiles and softly whispers, "Calm down, Cupcake. It'll be alright."
"Easy for you to say, you're not even trying to help!" It's too late, Mr. Barns has reached our table, ready to taste our omelet.
He takes the first bite, grimacing in the process.
"The omelet is cooked well, but, maybe next time, try not adding egg shells." Everyone laughs at us, my cheeks heat up in embarrassment. He walks away, dismissing the class on the way back up to his desk.
Only the second day of school and I've already been embarrassed too many times for my liking.
"Sorry, Cupcake," Zander picks up my bag and hands it to me, chuckling like the rest of the class, "I'll make it up to you, I promise."
And just like the omelet, my skin was sizzling from embarrassment.
Sizzle.

Alright! That's the end of chapter two! Took me a while to write this one *wipes sweat off of forehead* I'll hopefully have chapter three written soon!
Also, I'm still in the editing process (seriously, I'm so lazy when it comes to this stuff it's awful. One look at it and I immediately don't wanna do it anymore 😂😂😂) So if you happen to spot a typo, feel free to point it out! Any help is appreciated ❤️❤️
