The Truth
“Kiara!!! Kiara!!! Wake up,” someone calling to me, it was Jennie. Everyone was present there, including Judy.
“Jennie, where has he gone?” I inquired about the attractive stranger.
“About whom are you speaking?” Ian inquired, bewildered. “And what were you doing? We were all waiting for you to find us, but you were sleeping.”
“Wait a minute, what? Except for Judy, I found you all. You were in the Biology lab, Jennie was in the library, and David-Sarah were in the classroom cupboard. When I was looking for Judy, I met him.” I went over everything with them, from the boys' restroom to the oak tree.
“I'm not sure what you're talking about. You didn't come to look for us. We checked on you after an hour, and that's when we saw you here, passed out,” Sarah replied.
“Then what was that, everything appeared to be real?” Are you guys playing a joke on me?” No, they all said at the same time.
We returned home once the snowstorm had passed. I arrived at the orphanage. Sister was worried about me. I went back to my room after explaining why I was late.
But I had a strange feeling about everything. What if what I saw was true? I called the police station anonymously and informed them of the possibility of finding a body under the oak tree. Later, I felt much better and slept soundly.

Next day evening,
Because of yesterday's snowstorm, we didn't have school today. I was walking through the park, thinking about what had happened the day before. There were very few people out today. Perhaps everyone was too busy sitting near the fireplace and warming themselves. My thoughts were hazy.
The cold air pricked my cheeks, so I drew my scarf closer to my face. I noticed a white blanket of snow covering the trees, the ground, and the benches as I looked around. Everything seemed to be very quiet. The only sound I could hear was the crunch of my boots in the snow. The scent of damp pine trees filled the air with a sense of freshness and cleanliness. I felt so peaceful walking through such a magical place.
I was walking down the street back to the orphanage when I heard someone call my name. When I turned around, Jennie was running towards me, waving the newspaper. She drew closer and paused for a moment to catch her breath.
“What you said, Kiara, was correct. A body was discovered near the oak tree. The police found it this morning. They claimed it belonged to a boy who went missing two years ago. Look, this is him,” Jennie said, explaining everything I already knew. I took the newspaper from her and looked at the picture, which gave me the shock of my life. With a beautiful smile, the sparkling green eyes stared back at me.
