It’s been a week since Ryan has been gone. I wouldn’t eat or sleep. I knew it was my fault as I watched the scene playing in my head… over and over…

~Flashback Start~

I heard something as we were picking mushrooms, I was talking loudly to Ryan.“Zombies!” I whispered to Ryan. Ryan got his guard up as a huge horde of zombies came our way. My talking had led them here.

“Go get help, now!” Ryan said to me. I cried, hugged him, and ran to get help.

When I arrived… I only saw a bracelet on the ground. I picked it up and looked at the helpers, some went ahead of us. They had to drag me back home as I cried.

~Flashback End~

“Taylor Marie Walker!” I hear Myriad say loudly to me.

I looked around then at Myriad. “Yes?” I ask her.

“You gotta eat something before you go feral,” Myriad says, handing me a plate of grilled chicken. I ate a little bit of it.

“All of it.” Myriad frowns. I ate it with attitude. “Don’t give me that!” Myriad sighs.

Suddenly, everything went black.

I woke up a while later, my head hurt. I groaned in pain.

“You’re awake,” Myriad said. I glared at her. “Look, I’m sorry, okay? I had to.” Myriad sighs.

“Why?” I ask groggily.

“You hadn’t slept for a week… you were starting to hallucinate…” Myriad frowns. “It was the only way.”

“So you didn’t want me to suffer from hallucinations? What’s that?” I ask.

“It’s where you see or hear things that aren’t there,” Myriad says.

“Oh, thanks,” I say and hug Myriad, “How long was I out?”

Myriad hugs back, “About a day, you needed it,” she says.

“I just miss him, it doesn’t feel right without him- wait a minute…” I say, realizing something.

“Hm?” Myriad said.

“The bracelet! It wasn’t just on the ground! It was on the right fork! We come from the left, meaning he was taken from the right!” I say, “It’s a long shot, but I’m sure of this!” I smile.

“I’ll send out the forces,” Myriad smiled and left.
