The Flight

(PeterPOV)

I push off the sand and propel toward the sky. The feel of the wind in my hair is exhilarating! I have only flown through the star a few times but each time it seems like it gets better and better.

To be honest with me, I didn't know why Jane and Wendy wanted to return home and grow up. Then I saw Jane's dad come back. That changed everything. The feel of someone you love coming home is a great feeling. I only got to experience that a few times before- before they died.

But that is all ok now. I have the LostBoys, Tink, and soon, Jane.

Ahhh. Jane. Her flowing short hair, Glissining blue eyes you could drown in, and her cute smile. Oh, that smile.

I make it to London, and I fly to Jane's house. I peek through a small gap in the closed curtain and see- well, not Jane. This lady has pale skin and brown eyes. She has black hair and the child in her arms is almost an exact replica of the woman. A man walks through the door leading to a hallway. He has short black hair, medium pale skin, and small eyes. He has a younger child in his arms that looks like the baby in the woman's arms.

I am FREAKING out!!!

Where is everyone else? Why are they not here?

"You can tell me tomorrow. Maybe we can talk where it will be warmer!" I whirled around to see an older woman crawling down a skylight, and a young woman helping her.

She looks familiar. I wonder-Jane! Did she move?

I wait a little longer, to see if I can get a free moment to talk with her, but she sighs heavily and heads down. I lose sight of her, then see her peer through a large window then close the curtains.

I don't know what to do so I head down to an alley and land on the hard stone. Could I pass as a weary traveler, and spend the night? Or should I just go home and look for Oscar?

I decide to be a 'cold weary traveler' and try to spend the night. I put my hat into my pocket and hide my dagger. Then I tear my shirt and roll in the mud. I look into the window of an abandoned building and I recognize the boy in front of me.

I look like me before I found Tink. A poor lonely orphan, with no family and no cat.

I walk up to the front of the large building and see a word I never thought I would see.

Orphanage.

(GeneralPOV)

Peter approaches the door and is hesitant to knock. Finally, he gives a few loud raps on the large oak door. An older woman answers. She is wearing an olive green dress, with a cream apron. Wrinkles surround her kind eyes, and her smile is gentle and loving. Her grey hair is tied up on top of her frail head in delicate knots.

"Oh my! Come in! Come in! You must be hungry!" The lady opens the door wider and ushers him in. The more he thought of it, the more his tummy rumbled with hunger.

"Jane! Dorthy! Come!"

Two young women hurry into the foyer. One has short reddish-auburn hair and worried blue eyes. She is wearing a dark pink dress with a lavender sweater, and a white frilled apron. The other woman has long raven hair cascading down her back in two long braids, and green eyes. Her dress is light blue and is checkered, with a white apron over the top.

"Oh My! Please come with me, we will get you cleaned up," Jane said ushering him up a long flight upstairs. "The shower rooms are to your left and I will bring you up clean clothes," she hands him a pile of freshly starched clothes and closes the door as she walks out.

I forgot what hot running water felt like. It was....nice. I put on the clothes Jane left for me and trudge down the stairs. I walk into the main dining room and see all the children sitting around the table.

We eat a delicious meal of roast ham and mashed potatoes. Jane is not here. She brought in food and she took out empty dishes, but she didn't eat herself.

"Alright children! Head to your rooms and get ready for storytime!" Dorthy bounces into the room taking the last of the dirty dishes. "Jane will be telling a Peter Pan story tonight, so you better be quick!"

All the children rush to their rooms in a loud clatter of laughter and stomping. She turns to me and says, "If you would like to stay the night, we have the guest room ready. If you are attending the Thomas's funeral tomorrow, let me know and I will find you appropriate attire."

"The Thomas's?"

"Edward and Wendy. It was terrible. the crash left their youngest paralyzed from the waist down. let me know later. K?"

She steps away from the table and heads to the kitchen.

I nod, though I know she can't see it, then I head out to find Jane.
