✿ Chapter 17 : Until I Found You ✿

The sun rose gently over the city, bathing everything in a soft golden glow. The day carried with it an air of anticipation, especially for Shehnaaz, who woke up with a flutter of nervousness in her chest. The events of the previous night played in her mind like a vivid reel, the laughter, the joy, and most of all, Sidharth asking her out on a date.

Now, as she stood in front of her wardrobe, staring at the limited options it held, she felt a surge of nervousness.

"What should I wear?' she murmured to herself, biting her lip.

Nargis, poked her head into the room, her pregnant belly just visible beneath her loose kurta. "Kya ho raha hai yaha? Tum itni pareshan kyun lag rahi ho?"

Shehnaaz turned, flustered. "Kuch nahi... bas... woh Sidharth ne mujhe kahi le jaane ke liye kaha hai"

Nargis' eyes sparkled mischievously. "Is it a Date?"

Shehnaaz nodded shyly.

"Oh my god you guys are finally taking steps I'm so happy for you" Nargis hugged her tightly.

"Bhabhi, batao na kya pehnu" Shehnaaz asked nervously.

"Lemme check" She peek inside her wardrobe but found nothing.

"Isme to kuch acha hai hi nahi". Nargis pout sadly.

"Arey hai na ye dekho ye red frock ya ye yellow wali" she show her two Indian dresses.

"Nah! Let's try something new, wait here". She said and went from there.

Nargis enter inside with a western dress and give it to her.

"Ye try kar"

"But maine aese dresses kabhi nahi pehne". Shehnaaz hesitantly said.

"Isliye to bola try kar bohot acha lagega tujh par ye aur Sidharth ne to flat ho jaana hai"

Shehnaaz look at the dress and think about Sidharth. After lot's of discussion finally she wear it with a cover up.

Meanwhile, Sidharth was pacing his apartment, his hands running through his hair as he muttered to himself.

"Relax, Sidharth," he told himself. "Shehnaaz hi to hai, mujhe itni nervousness kiu ho rahi hai"

But he knew it was not just any day. He wanted this to be special, not just for her, but for himself too. After years of living in the shadow of grief and guilt, he was finally allowing himself to feel again, and it scared him.

By late afternoon, Sidharth arrived at Shehnaaz's apartment, wearing a crisp white shirt and jeans, his usual casual yet thoughtful style. He hesitated before knocking, his heart racing slightly.

When Shehnaaz opened the door, his breath caught. She was wearing a pale white dress with a blue cover up, simple yet elegant, her hair loosely tied back with soft strands framing her face. Her nervous smile only made her look more endearing.

"Tum... bohot achi lag rahi ho" Sidharth said, his voice soft but sincere.

Shehnaaz blushed, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Thank you. Aap bhi" She paused, looking at him shyly. "Ache lag rahe ho"

"Chalein?" He asked her. She nodded and close the door. They walked to his bike, and as Sidharth handed her the helmet, he could not help but notice the way her fingers brushed his. It was a fleeting touch, but it sent a warmth through him.

"Tum comfortable ho?" he asked as she sat behind him.

Shehnaaz nodded, though she hesitated before lightly placing her hands on his shoulders. "Haan... main ready hoon"

Sidharth took her to a quiet lakeside spot, away from the city's noise. The road leading there was lined with trees, their leaves rustling softly in the breeze. As they arrived, Shehnaaz's eyes widened in awe.

"Ye jagah kitni sundar hai" she whispered, stepping off the bike.

Sidharth smiled, pleased by her reaction. "I'm glad you like it, ye jagha meri favorite hai jab bhi sukoon chahiye hota hai yaha aa jaata hu"

They walked along the shore, the water shimmering under the fading sunlight. The air was filled with the soothing sounds of birds and the gentle lapping of waves.

As they sat on a bench overlooking the lake, Sidharth stole a glance at Shehnaaz. She was looking out at the water, her face serene yet reflective.

"Tum kuch soch rahi ho?" he asked gently.

She looked at him, her eyes soft. "Bas... ye soch rahi hoon ki main kitni lucky hoon. Mujhe kabhi laga nahi tha ki main phir se itna comfortable feel karungi... kisi ke saath"

Sidharth's chest tightened at her words. He reached out instinctively but stopped himself, lowering his hand. "Main bhi lucky hoon, Shehnaaz. Tumhare saath rehna... it makes me feel alive again"

They began walking along the lakeside path, their conversation light and easy. As they strolled, their fingers accidentally brushed. Both of them froze for a moment, the air around them thick with tension.

Sidharth hesitated but then reached out, gently entangling their fingers. Shehnaaz glanced at him, her eyes wide, but she did not pull away. Instead, a shy smile tugged at her lips.

"Chalo ek aur jagha lekar chalta hu" he said softly to her. She nodded and went behind him.

Sidharth took her to a nearby fair, alive with vibrant colors, cheerful laughter, and the aroma of street food.

Shehnaaz's eyes lit up as she took in the sights. "This is so amazing" she said.

Sidharth chuckled. "To chalo"

They played games at the stalls, from ring toss to shooting balloons. Sidharth watched in amusement as Shehnaaz squealed with delight when she won a small stuffed toy.

"Dekho! Main jeeti!" she said, holding up the toy like a trophy.

Sidharth laughed. "Tumhari jeet ka credit mujhe jaata hai. Main tumhe encouragement de raha tha"

"Bilkul nahi" she teased, her laughter infectious.

They tried every street snack they could find, from cotton candy to spicy chaats. By the time they reached the Ferris wheel, they were both laughing like carefree kids.

As they sat in the Ferris wheel, the world seemed to slow down. The view from the top was breathtaking, the twinkling lights of the fair below them blending with the starry sky above. When the ferris wheel reach it's top and stop, they both stood up enjoying the view from there.

Sidharth turned to Shehnaaz, his expression serious yet tender. "Shehnaaz, ek baat kahu?"

She looked at him, her heart pounding. "Kya baat?"

He took a deep breath. "Maine kabhi socha nahi tha ki main kisi ke saath phir se is tarah feel karunga. Lekin tumne meri zindagi me ek nayi roshni laayi hai. Tumhare saath rehna... it feels like home"

Tears welled up in Shehnaaz's eyes. "Sidharth... mujhe kabhi laga nahi tha ki main kisi par bharosa kar paungi. Lekin aap....aapne mujhe wapas jeene ki wajah di hai"

"I love you" They both said together and giggled with tears.

Suddenly her smile dissappear. "You know about my past right still?"

"I don't care about it" he said taking a step towards her.

She take a step back, "I'm not perfect"

"Nor I'm" He said and take a step.

"My parents they don't like me"

"But I like you" he slide down his hand around her waist and pulled her towards himself.

"I just wanna be yours" he whispered.

Their gazes locked, and in that moment, words were no longer needed. The distance between them disappeared as Sidharth's lips met hers in a gentle, lingering kiss. The softness of it was almost surreal, like a whisper of wind against her soul. Fireworks exploded in the sky above them, the colors reflecting off their faces, but neither noticed. The only thing they were aware of was the warmth they shared, the quiet confession sealed in that tender moment. They broke the kiss, Sidharth rest his forehead on hers.

"I love you Shehnaaz" He whispered near her lips.

She smile shyly and hug him. "I love you too". He smile with tears and hug her tightly.

After the fair, Sidharth asked if they could celebrate their new beginning with something small. Shehnaaz smiled, knowing exactly what to do.

They returned to his apartment, and she brought out the ingredients to bake a small cake together.

"Madam kal jesa cake chahiye mujhe" Sidharth asked, rolling up his sleeves.

"Okay" she said, grinning. "Wese aap bana lenge na?"

'Dekhte hai" he replied, laughing.

As they worked together, their hands occasionally brushed, sending little sparks through the air. Flour ended up on Sidharth's nose, making Shehnaaz giggle uncontrollably.

'Tum hass rahi ho? Ab dekho" Sidharth said, playfully smearing a bit of flour on her cheek.

By the time the cake was ready, their laughter had filled the kitchen. They decorated it with simple icing and lit a single candle.

"To new beginnings" Sidharth said, raising a toast with a piece of cake.

"To new beginnings" Shehnaaz echoed, her smile brighter than ever.

After dinner, Sidharth found a playlist on his phone and played "Until I Found You" by Stephen Sanchez. He extended his hand to her.

"Would you like to dance with me?" he asked.

She looked at him, hesitant but willing. "Main zyada achi dancer nahi hoon"

"Main bhi nahi. But i want to dance with my girlfriend" he said with a soft smile. She smile shyly.

Georgia, wrap me up in all your
I want you in my arms

She placed her hand in his, and he gently guided her. They swayed to the music, their movements slow and intimate. The soft glow of the fairy lights in her apartment made the moment feel magical.

Oh, let me hold you

I'll never let you go again like I did
Oh, I used to say

Sidharth placed one hand lightly on her waist, careful and respectful, while holding her hand with the other. Shehnaaz's free hand rested hesitantly on his shoulder. At first, they swayed awkwardly, the space between them filled with their nervous energy.

I would never fall in love again until I found her

As the song's lyrics swelled, the distance between them faded further. Sidharth tightened his hold on her waist ever so slightly, and Shehnaaz's hand on his shoulder moved closer to his neck. Their movements grew slower, more intimate, as if they were the only two people in the world.

I said, "I would never fall unless it's you I fall into"

As the song played, Sidharth pulled her closer, their foreheads touching. "Shehnaaz, mujhe kabhi nahi laga tha ki main phirse kabhi aese khush reh paunga until i found you"

I was lost within the darkness, but then I found her
I found you

Shehnaaz looked up at him, her eyes shimmering. "Maine bhi kabhi nahi socha tha ki meri life me koi aesa aayega jo meri life ko itna khubsurat bana dega"

As the song flowed, they began to relax, their movements finding a quiet rhythm. Shehnaaz peeked up at him, her eyes shy but curious. "Aapne pehle kabhi dance kiya hai?"

"Agar maine kiya hota toh tumhe ab tak pata chal gaya hota"

She laughed at his honesty, the sound like music to his ears. Slowly, he pulled her just a little closer, their breaths mingling as they moved in sync.

Georgia, pulled me in, I asked to
Love her once again

Sidharth leaned back slightly, spinning her in a slow circle. She laughed, her voice light and carefree, as her dress flared around her. When she came back into his arms, she stumbled slightly, her hands clutching his shoulders for balance.

You fell, I caught you

Sidharth caught her, his hold steady and reassuring. Their eyes met, the world around them disappearing again.

"Tum thik ho?" he asked, his voice a whisper.

She nodded, her cheeks flushed. "Aap hamesha sambhal lete ho"

"Main sambhalta rahunga" Sidharth said, his words filled with quiet promise.

I'll never let you go again like I did
Oh, I used to say

The words sent a shiver through her, and she looked away, overwhelmed. But Sidharth gently guided her chin back toward him, his touch light. "Shehnaaz, i love your eyes as they hold the love for me". He kissed her eyes one by one. Shehnaaz felt like she found heaven in his arms as she never feel this much comfortable in her life.

I would never fall in love again until I found her
I said, "I would never fall unless it's you I fall into"
I was lost within the darkness, but then I found her
I found you

Their lips met once again, sealing their promises in the quiet stillness of the night.

I would never fall in love again until I found her
I said, "I would never fall unless it's you I fall into"
I was lost within the darkness, but then I found her
I found you

For the first time in years, both Sidharth and Shehnaaz felt truly alive, their hearts beating in unison as they began a journey filled with love, hope, and endless possibilities.
