Visions

Katsuki inhales and realizes the scent of his bed being different. It smells like Kirishima, but way too weak and it's mixed with the smell of sweat and dirt. He opens his eyes blinking, hoping the first thing he would see is the redhead, but instead, he sees a few hammocks with his crew members on top of them. At least Sero, Ashido and Todoroki are on them. He quickly raises his head, pushing himself off the mattress he realized he lays on and looks around confused. He dreamed bad, but was too tired to wake up from the dream. Slowly he opens his mouth.

„Kirishima..." he whispers to himself, remembering what happened last night. Directly, he jumps up, slipping down the mattress with a loud noise and runs outside, waking up the other crew members. He gets blinded by the sudden sunlight hitting his face, but still runs in direction of his cabin. Reaching in stumbling, he stares inside with wide opened eyes, seeing Jiro, Uraraka and Midoriya standing around the bed, looking down in worry. Katsuki sighs, biting on his lower lip, pouting. His forehead creases, eyebrows raise and with drooped eyes, he limps over to his bed, leaning against the rest, looking down at the still sleeping redhead.

Kirishima lays in the middle of the bed, his head on both pillows, his hair laying in every direction, his hand on the blanket while the other lays next to his head with his wrist upwards. Even though he seems to be sleeping, his face is in pain, eyebrows drawn together, eyes shut heavily and sweat running down his whole face, creating small pearls on his forehead. He doesn't wear a shirt and also sweats on his shoulders, arms and chest. The blanket is raised up to his ribs, only covering the lower half of his torso and his legs. His chest moves up and down quickly.

„Captain..." Jiro whispers, her eyes narrowed in grief, looking sadly.

„How is he?" Katsuki asks dry, then he licks his lips and swallows.

„He has a high fever, we don't know why though."
„A high fever!? How high? Is it dangerous?" Katsuki's hand tenses around the bed rest, while he knits his eyebrows, staring into Jiro's eyes. She seems worried and a little scared, so she steps back a little, holding her hands in front of her chest. Katsuki is so worried, that he seems completely unknown to his crew. He himself notices how unlike him it is, but that doesn't matter at all now. He licks his lips again and throws his face back to Kirishima.
„It could be dangerous. He's half sleeping though. Sometimes, he opens his eyes, but only to ask for some water or telling he's hot or cold." Uraraka then explains and steps closer to the captain.

„How much water do we have left?" He asks seriously.
„About- maybe a gallon?"

„Fuck. It's- not enough. We have to stop somewhere and get water, or else-"

„Relax. We don't know how quickly the fever will go away again. Don't forget that he's not human. His immune system and recovery procedure are way more distinctive than ours. He may be back on track tonight." Jiro says, putting a hand on the captain's shoulder. He snatches her away angrily.

„I'll stay with him. Go and- do something." He whispers, not moving his look away from the sick redhead. Without a complaint, Uraraka, Jiro and Midoriya leave the room.

Why is it always you? Why can't I take your pain away, for at least one time?

Katsuki takes his hand. It's sweaty and really hot, but it still feels good. And he stays with him from morning to evening. After the sunset, Todoroki comes inside the room with Midoriya, who seems nervous. Todoroki gives him a soft push against the back and whispers something inside his ear. He gets a nervous look form the green haired, small guy, and responds with a gentle smile. Midoriya steps further to Katsuki, using all his courage.

„Hey- Kacchan. I- I mean we- Shoto and I, we brought you some food, since you didn't eat anything today." His voice is shivery and the plate on his hands shakes. He turns his face back to Todoroki, who shows him a thumbs up, then he turns back around. Katsuki doesn't reply, not with a word, not with a movement. So Midoriya gets even closer, until he can look the captain in the face. His lids are heavy, his eyes look dead, his face is pale. Midoriya knits his eyebrows, looking down at Katsuki in sympathy. He lays down the plate next to him on the bed and stands besides him for a few seconds, then walks back to Todoroki.

„How's he?" Todoroki asks quietly.

„He- looks dead."

„Dead?"
„As if- as if he lost everything he has." Midoriya explains mischievously. His eyes get glossy, tears form around them.
„Don't cry." Todoroki has never been good at comforting people, but Midoriya still values that he tries. When the green eyed boy looks Todoroki in the eyes, trying to form a smile, the quartermaster sighs softly with a melancholic face and reaches out for Midoriya's hand, intertwining his fingers with those of him. Midoriya smiles, looking to the ground and blushes a little.
„Do you- do you think Kacchan is in love with Kirishima?" Midoriya asks really quietly, while looking towards the bed, his eyebrows find their way closer to each other.

„I hope so." Todoroki answers and tightens his grip around Midoriya's hand. „Maybe we won't have to be quiet anymore when they confess to the crew."

The small boy looks back up and leans his head against Todoroki's chest, closing his eyes peacefully.
„I love you, Shoto."

Katsuki falls asleep on the bed, leaning against the rest, still holding Kirishima's hand. He wakes up, when the grip around his hand suddenly gets tighter. He looks towards the redhead, who gives unpleasant sounds off of him. Katsuki's expression gets worried, he raises himself from the bed and steps over to the small desk, lighting on a candle. Kirishima's eyes get blank again, his face sweats harder, his body trembles.
„Fuck, no..." Katsuki sobs a little, then wipes away the formed tears around his eyes and comes closer to Kirishima, who gasps loudly. He grabs his torso and tries to raise him up, but the trembling makes it hard for him. With enough effort, Katsuki manages to bring Kirishima to the table again, sorting out the papers and finding the one he had been drawing on yesterday. Tired, Katsuki leans against the table, watching Kirishima trembling. His hand shakes, while he draws down more of the map and more numbers. Katsuki looks at him, feeling sorry. Feeling guilty, that he isn't the one suffering, but Kirishima. It hurts him so much to see him like this. He sighs, looking down at the table, until the trembling stops and Kirishima gasps loudly, almost shouting. Katsuki throws his head up and runs over to the chair, catching the redhead, before he could fall to the ground.
„Kirishima..? Answer me, please." He whispers, his forehead creased, his hands stroking the soft, sweaty cheeks.
„Ka-tsuki.." He whispers powerless and opens his eyes just a tiny little bit. The captain sighs relieved and leans down to hug the redhead. „I-I'm so sorry..."

„What are you sorry for, idiot?" Katsuki's voice sounds tired, sad, completely hopeless. „I'm sorry that you have to go through this.. I just don't know what to do." He whispers along, holding his face on Kirishima's shoulder.
„Don't..be. We'll find the treasure. We'll be gods..!" Kirishima whispers and forms a slight, but heavy grin on his face, even showing his sharp teeth. Katsuki can't control his emotions and gasps out, crying.
„Please, no. I don't need this treasure. I just need you to stay awake, healthy.. without pain. Kirishima, I don't want you to go through this, I want to stop. Stop being this stupid compass, we'll make ourselves a nice life on the pacific ocean, I swear, you won't have any worries, I'll take care of that." Katsuki keeps crying inside the caramel toned, wide shoulder for a few seconds, but he doesn't get an answer back. When he raises his head to look at Kirishima, he's out. His eyes closed, his hands hanging down his body. Katsuki starts crying again.

He tries to stand up and bring Kirishima back into bed, but he's too weak. His emotions affected his strength. Not eating, not sleeping and the lack of training affected it too. He cries out louder, trying to pull Kirishima's body over to the bed, when Kaminari suddenly appears at the threshold, looking inside worried. Then he walks in quickly, grabbing Kirishima's legs and together, they put him inside the bed. Katsuki directly turns around, hiding his face from the boatswain, who doesn't say anything.

„You don't have to hide your emotions. I know how hard it is for you..." Kaminari whispers, his eyebrows raised, his voice quiet, but soft. Katsuki sniffs.

„I don't need your sympathy, I'm not the one suffering."

„You don't need to feel physical pain in order to suffer, Bakugou." Katsuki doesn't say anything, but turns around to Kaminari. The dark blonde sees Katsuki's expression. The dead eyes, heavy lids, dark shadows around his eyes, his lowered mouth, the red nose and the wrinkles around his whole face. Kaminari stares at him doleful. Then he opens his arms to the side a little, inviting Katsuki. First, the captain looks at him as if it's ridiculous, but then he slowly steps towards him and lays his head down on Kaminari's chest and he closes Katsuki inside him, putting his hands around his back.
„He'll be fine. We just have to go through this." He whispers and catches a glimpse over Katsuki's shoulder to Kirishima on the bed. He narrows his eyes darkly. „Don't you want to see the progress Kirishima did tonight?" He then asks. Katsuki opens his eyes, staring down form Kaminari's chest, then loses himself form the hug and limps over to his desk. The map looks clearer and there are more numbers written at the right top. He slides his hand over the vellum and sighs heavily.
„Go to bed, Kaminari. I'll take care of him here."
„Are you sure?"
„Dead sure." And with that, Kaminari leaves him alone for the rest of the night.

Unfortunately, the same thing went on for about four more days. Every single night, Katsuki held himself awake, standing by Kirishima's side when he had his visions, sat next to him when he slept, stood beside him when he was sick and gasped during the day, fed him when it was somehow possible, gave him water when he could. Katsuki barely ate, he slept 6 hours in four days, he was weak, always tired. And his crew couldn't do anything about it. They couldn't force him to eat, he got mad when they tried to tell him to leave the room and take a fresh breath, he fought against it, when his crew members tried to give him some rest. He is dirty, he smells, he's completely messed up. But after this night, at about four am, Kirishima woke up from his vision again. Katsuki didn't have the strength to catch him. They fell to the ground together. Gasping, Katsuki tries to push away Kirishima's body, which fell on top of him. When he makes it out pf beneath him, he crawls back a little, gasping, dripping with sweat, dizzy. With all his strength, he stands up and grabs Kirishima beneath his arms and starts to pull him back to the bed, when he suddenly steps onto a spot in his room, where the moonlight shines inside. Shortly, he glances outside and sees the clear night sky. For some reason, he decides against pulling Kirishima to the bed, but instead, carries him outside the room, to the main deck. He puts him down against the main mast and sits down next to him. Kirishima's unconcious, but Katsuki still takes his hand and looks up to the night sky, filled with uncountable stars and the full moon. He smiles slightly.
„I wish you could see this, you're missing out, shitty hair.." He whispers dry, leaning his head against the mast. „I don't know where we're sailing to anymore. I don't know what sand feels like and I kind of forgot what rum tastes like- crazy, right?" A tear rolls down his cheek without him noticing, but he doesn't wipe it away. He keeps staring at the quiet night sky and keeps holding Kirishima's hand.
„It truly is beautiful." Katsuki's eyes rip open and he stares down, noticing Kirishima's eyes are open, his head rested against Katsuki's shoulder, looking up. He starts breathing quickly, loudly, until he moves away from the mast, sitting down in front of Kirishima.

„You're- awake!? You're here!? You- do you see me? Can you answer!? Kirishima!?" Katsuki completely loses his mind, touching the redhead everywhere, checking if he's actually awake, or if it's just a hallucination. But Kirishima lifts his head slowly and smiles at him.

„I'm here, I'm back." He whispers with dry lips. Katsuki sighs in laughter, then wipes his hair back, grabbing his own head, his jaw dropped.
„I- can't believe it. You made me worry so fucking much, you idiot! I thought you'd die on me!?" He starts shouting. Kirishima giggles softly.

„Sorry Bakugou, but I'm not that weak."

„Sure seemed to me, when I had to carry you on your bed from day to day!" Katsuki grabs Kirishima's hands and analyses his body. Kirishima's smile vanishes.
„Wait, what? How- how long have I been in this state?" The captain looks back up, surprised, in a bad way.
„You don't know. Of course, it makes sense..."

„Bakugou, how long!?" After a long second break, Katsuki answers.
„Six days all in all." Kirishima moves his hands away from Katsuki's, down to the floor, gasping.

„Six... and you were taking care of me this whole time!? How are you!? What-"

„I'm okay, don't worry about me. How was I able to lean back, while you had this huge fever during day and during the night, you had these visions. I couldn't rest for a second!" Katsuki complains loudly and Kirishima seems to take it way too serious.
„God, I'm- so sorry." He narrows his eyes, they get wet.
„Now fuck off, don't start this! You drew the map completely and you put all the corresponding coordinates on the side. We know the way to the dark waters!" Katsuki leans over to Kirishima, getting closer, until he touches his chest softly.

„We'll be gods- this is what you said." He whispers, then puts his lips on Kirishima's.
