Author's Note

Hi friends! Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my little corner of Wattpad. If you've already been hanging around here by the time I post this, you'll know that this is the 2nd draft of a story I first wrote in 2020. I am immensely excited to share this new version of the story with all of you and figured I'd share some brief thoughts about the rewriting process.

☞ Why did you rewrite this book?  //  I wrote the first draft of this story after taking a 3-year break from writing, which meant that my style changed a lot from the beginning of the book to the end. All of the other stories I've written on this account in the past two years have been some form of spin-off of The Search for Lily Myers, which gave me a lot of perspective on which characters and ideas I wanted to put more focus on this time around. I also really wanted this book to be a more accurate representation of my current writing capabilities as it and The Imitation Game are the two books on my account that people usually find first.

☞ How long will the rewrite take? //  I'm aiming to have all of the chapters posted by sometime in October 2022! Most of them have been pre-written, so at this point it's mainly a matter of editing them. I've divided the story into 3 parts and plan on posting one part per month so that those of you who are reading the story for a second time aren't waiting for new chapters week by week.

A disclaimer about spoilers: I've changed a lot of the content in this story the second time around as well as rearranged a lot of it that was already there, which means that you may see old comments about plot points that either aren't happening in this draft at all or will happen in later chapters. If you're looking to avoid spoilers, I'd recommend only viewing inline comments instead of scrolling to the general comments section at the bottom of the chapter!
