Three: Dysfunctional Dream Team

Note:
I'm so glad my readers are in fact enjoying this crossover! Soon the ball is going to get rolling and the plot will truly be under way~

The dusty dirt under my feet is occasionally lifted by the breeze. It's so weird to be standing here, faced by so many talented people. And by so many, I mean what feels like twenty people; but probably more like ten people, that are, from what I can tell, insanely skilled. But with great talent comes many disputes. Maybe this is more a power hungry group than I had first assumed. The group appears to already be splitting down into two subgroups. One side of the camp is full of angry teenagers with scowling faces, playing round after round after round of Duel Monsters, as if it's going to miraculously make everything return to an idealistic state. I'm currently stood on the other side of the divide, in the company of Rei-kun and Nagisa-kun. Yuki-chan is inside, being taught the basics of the game by the olive haired angel that Nagisa-kun called Mako-chan.

I don't know what to say or do. Everybody seems to be on edge or afraid or ignorant and blanking my existence completely. What am I actually going to do? Who can I talk to...? I mean, I haven't seen Rin since he went ballistic at that Sei guy.

"Oh, Misaki-san, are you okay?" Rei-kun asks, coming over and offering me a small smile.

"I'm a bit out of my depth..." I admit, glancing at the people on the other side of our designated area.

"Like we said earlier, Misaki-san, we're not exactly in ideal condition to be fighting Triple N." I am told.

"I'm not likely to be any more ideal." I laugh awkwardly, rubbing the back of my neck.

"Mind if I see your deck, Misaki?" A dark haired guy with deep blue eyes asks. I shrug and hand him my box of cards. If Rei-kun trusts him, then surely there won't be an issue.

"Ahh! Haru-chaaan! Mako-chan needs your help in the caravan soon, okay." Hazuki Nagisa chimes, bouncing out into the hot afternoon sun.

"Right, thank you, Nagisa." The teen holding my deck nods his head as he sifts through my pile of monsters, spells, traps and fusions. His expression hasn't changed at all, has it? I'm going to be ridiculed for having a puny and pathetic deck that won't last me five minutes, won't I?

"I can't deny that I've seen stronger cards, but its strategically sound." This Haru-chan states, nodding affirmatively.

"Haru!" The olive haired teen calls from one of the caravan windows.

"Right." he nods his head and heads inside.

"Hey, Misa-chan, what kind of deck do you have?" Nagisa-kun asks, his magenta eyes twinkling.

"It's a light and dark deck." I smile.

"Light and dark? Like card field types?" Nagisa-kun asks.

"Yes, Nagisa-kun, Misaki-san is referring to field types, it allows loopholes in cards that block out masters that are, for example, machine types." Rei-kun nods his head, pushing up his glasses.

"What about you two?" I ask.

"We're more about deception."

"Deception?"

"Take Rei-chan for example, Misa-chan, he looks like the kind of guy that would have some fairy and spellcasters in hid deck, instead, his crds are beasts, beast-warriors and winged-beast types." Nagisa-kun chimes.

"Nagisa-kun has a dragon deck, centred around cards we can use in two on two duels." Rei-kun says, pushing up his glasses. Again.

"What card do you regard as your strongest, Nagisa-kun, Rei-kun?" I ask.

"I think that my most powerful card is a magic card, Misaki-san, it's called Harpies Feather Duster. Are you familiar with it?"

"Yes, it removes all spell and trap cards from your opponent's side of the field."

"I am yet to test its true strength out on any member of Triple N but I'm pretty sure that it can destroy the card that makes them so powerful; The Seal Of Iwatobi-chan."

"What a weird name." I muse with a weak laugh.

"Weird as it sounds, it's an incredibly strong card." Nagisa-kun chimes.

"Is that the card that's been causing all of the trouble?" I ask.

A low rumbling sound echoes across the barren landscape. The stones on the dusty ground are emitting a rattling sound as they vibrate."

"That can't be good." one of the teenagers on the other side of the site says. "Cover the girl!"

The girl? I search the area around me for a female, other than Yuki-chan, there's nobody here! There is NOBODY HERE! No other girl than, well, me. Rei-kun and the hyperactive blonde, Hazuki Nagisa-kun are starting to walk in front of me. Everybody from the other side of the divide is running over too. What's going on.

"Oi! Sousuke! What's going on here?!" Rin asks, running out of one of the other caravans, followed by two adults, a brown haired woman and a blond man. Who the hell are they? Parents? Tutors? Guides? Leaders? Instructors?

"Someone- one of them- is coming." The tallest of the group with dark brown hair looks over at the redhead.

"Today of all days." Rin mutters, running over to us and standing beside this Sousuke person, almost completely blocking my view of what's going on.

The rumbling sound seems far more identifiable now; it appears to be someone gunning the engine of a motorcycle. And the sound is getting louder, therefore, this means that the bike moving towards us. Looking at the stiffness of my human shield, this isn't positive.

"Hamamura-san..." Rei-kun gasps.

"Yo, heroes, seen Kou-chan?" A soft and sweet sounding female voice chimes once the rumbling stops.

"You know where she is." The shorter of the two orange haired brothers snarls.

"Ahh, Mikoshiba, Kou-chan was really fond of you, you know? She was DESPERATE to get you to join us."

"Go away, Chigusa."The taller Mikoshiba commands.

"Hey, don't shoot the messenger. As much as you're gonna miss Kou-chan, Seijuro, Kintaro,"

"Momotarou." The shorter one that Nagisa-kun called 'Momo-chan' corrects.

"I'm agtually here for Nagisa."

"Hana-ch-," The blond cuts himself off. "Hanamura. I'm not going to join them."

"But Nagisaaaa-kuuuuuun, Namiko-nii, Nia-nii and Naomi-nii. miss their little Nagi-chan!~" The girl whines, making the magenta eyed blond stiffen. Wait... "-nii"! That means that those girls are Nagisa's sisters! Oh my god! That poor guy!

This girl looks pretty innocent, her hair is a brownish blonde and tied up in an intricate and beautiful curled bun, held into place with three rose hair clips. It looks like a chocolate drop, except more of a caramel colour. Her eyes are soft and friendly, contrasting with her attitude which strikes me as fairly confrontational and hostile. Her clothes don't strike me as very antagonising either; most times, villainous individuals adorn leathers or dark coloured clothes, to show that they are the bad guys.

"No. I'm not joining Triple N.!" Nagisa-kun shakes his head.

"The more you reject your power, the more likely that your sisters will reject you."

"They can go ahead! I won't join Triple N.!" The blonde stomps his foot.

"Nagisa-kun..." Rei-kun puts his hand on the blond's shoulder.

"Now, for the next order of business. Where is the princess?"

The princess? What are she talking about?

"We don't have the princess!" That Sousuke guy snaps.

"I don't believe you. You've clearly got the princess. I bet you're hiding her."

"And I bet that Momo will burn you alive if you move any closer." Rin sneers. Harsh, maybe?

"Stingy. Don't have to tell me twice, Matsuoka. Just know, that if you do have the princess, we will not hesitate to harvest your souls to revive our legendary being."

"Get out of here, Hanamura."

"Tch. What kind of team is this?"
