I yawned and opened my eyes, still kinda shocked when I didn't see Kaldur laying next to me.

He's been gone for three months and I'm still not used to it.

Grabbing his pillow, I pressed my face into it, the smell of him lingering on the material.

Eventually, I got up and changed out of my pajamas. Well, I just left my sweats on and changed my shirt to a sweatshirt but I'm not planning on going anywhere so it doesn't really matter.

"What do I want to eat...?" I mumbled, looking around the kitchen.

Pancakes? Nah, I'm out of food coloring. And syrup... And pancake mix.

I should probably go buy some later.

I'll just eat leftovers.

Opening the fridge I grabbed a bag of French toast and opened it before putting a few pieces in the microwave.

As I waited for them to finish heating up, I sighed.

I never should have yelled at him.

I never should have-

An arm wrapped around  me and someone rested their chin on my head.

"Hi starfish." Kaldur mumbled.

I simply huffed and grabbed my food going to sit at the table.

Just because I said I shouldn't have yelled doesn't mean that I'm not mad at him.

"You should pay attention, if it wasn't me..."

"If it wasn't you I'd invite whoever it was to eat breakfast with me." I replied coldly.

My husband sighed. "I'm sorry. But you do not control my life Percy, you may be my wife and I love you for being concerned. However-"

I stood up and went to take his hands, but in my left hand I only grabbed an empty sleeve.

My eyes widened and I stared up at him with my mouth slightly open.

He rested his hand on my face. "It's just broken, my king refused to let me leave without a hoodie."

I bit my lip and wrapped my arms around him in a hug. "You could've called." My words were muffled against his chest.

"Percy, listen to me. If you do not want to be a hero that is one thing but do not try to force me to quit. I promised to support you the day we were married. You promised to do the same."

I didn't respond, just enjoying the familiar warmth that I'd been missing.

That ended when he pulled me away and awkwardly pushed my sleeves up, eyes scanning my arm for any injuries.

"Don't trust me?" I raised an eyebrow.

"It's not that. I have nightmares about you killing yourself either on purpose or by cutting too much...I just worry." His eyes met mine, a half-smile appearing on his lips.

Standing on my toes, I wrapped my arms around his neck.

He leaned down and when our lips met, it wasn't the gentle kiss I expected it to be. Instead it was more forceful.

But the noise I made from the shock of it caused it to soften.

Kaldur pulled away first, pressing a kiss to my forehead.

And then he ruined the moment.

"Do not try to-"

"I'm scared okay!? I'm scared that one day Dick will show up at the door and tell me you got killed!"

He stared at me for a minute, probably trying to process how I switched emotions that fast.

"I'm scared that something will happen to you and I'll have to figure out to handle another death. I want out child to know their dad. I just want you to be safe!"

His mouth was hanging open and I sighed. "What?"

"Percy...what did you just say?"

"That I want you to be safe?"

He walked towards me and put a hand on my face. "Before that...it...it sounded like you...like you...are with child."

Oh schist. This is not how I was planning on telling him.

I swallowed and slowly nodded, my eyes looking away from him.

My curiosity got the best of me though, and I glanced at Kaldur.

He was frozen, a faraway look in his eyes.

But then he laughed and pulled me close to him, his good hand running through my hair.

"I love you." He managed and that was when I realised his laughter had turned to crying. "I love you." He whimpered.

Frowning I managed to get him to the couch. Once there I wiped away his tears. "You okay Kaldur?"

"If something would have happened to me, you would have had to raise the baby without me helping you. I wouldn't be here to help protect the two of you." He sobbed and pulled me into another hug, burying his face in my shoulder. "I'm sorry."

"It's okay. Sh...it's okay, you didn't know."

He slowly stopped crying but he didn't release me.  "When did you find out?"

"The day you left. If we hadn't argued...you would have known..." I sighed. "I should have tried to call you."

"This isn't something you can tell somebody over the phone. Besides...I am just as much at fault. If I had not stormed out..." He breathed out, pulling away.

His hand reached for the bottom of my sweatshirt and he pulled it up enough so he could see my slightly swollen stomach.

"I just started showing about two weeks ago."

A look of confusion crossed his features. "I believe you would have to be close to..." He shook his head, smiling softly.

"What?" I questioned.

"Nothing, nothing. I just wonder if your father will consider not using protection as too much fun for the wedding night."

My face heated up and I hit him with a throw pillow. "Kaldur!"

"As I remember it was your decision as well." A wide goofy grin appeared on his face, one that remained no matter how many time I hit him with the pillow.

"Shut up!"

He laughed and leaned over, pressing a kiss to my lips and then one to my baby bump.

"Maybe...maybe I could use a break from being a hero."

"Kaldur don't do this because you feel like you-"

"Protecting you and our child comes first starfish."
