It's quiet.

You can't hear anything but the beat of your heart. Even though you're sitting in a busy airport. 

But you sit, your hand covering your mouth. The news was too much. You wouldn't know how to cope. 

That's when you see the door opening. You stand up and you wait for Danny. Automatically as soon as he spots you, he runs towards you. "Oh baby girl" Danny says, tears in his eyes. You both hug, hot tears building up inside both of you. Threatening to spill everywhere, in front of everyone. 

Together you and Danny walk outside to the car park, where your car is parked. "Baby girl is it true? Is mum ill?" Danny asks. You squeeze his hand. You nod, breathing heavily, holding back the tears. You bite your lip. "Yeah Dan. She is" you get it out before you and Danny get in the car. You both embrace before you set off for the hospital.

Danny was on tour in America when you had phoned him to tell him.

His mum, Ailish, had a brain aneurysm on the base of her skull. You knew how much Ailish meant to Danny after Shay had passed away. And yet, she was very important to you too. The whole drive to the hospital, you kept on getting flashbacks of what happened the day before.

Andi. Andi told you. You told you over the phone. 

The quiet tone of her voice. You could hear her crying. The raw emotion in her voice. You'd never forget it. Ever. And then the pain. You told her you'd have to hang up as you felt like you'd cry. And you did. You had cried for probably an hour, locked away in you and Danny's bedroom before you finally had the strength to tell him. 

When you pull up outside the hospital, you see Danny, his face hidden away in his hands. 

You rub his back before you hug him. "I'll be here for you Dan" you whisper. He acknowledges this before he wraps his arms around you. After 5 minutes of silence, he says: "Let's go in". 

Together you both roam the corridors until you reach the small area that Ailish is in. There is a small private waiting room outside before her single room is next door. As soon as you and Danny, hands linked go through the doors, Danny's brothers and sisters run up to him and embrace the youngest of the six. 

You stand back a little before you hug each of Danny's siblings. 

"How is mum?" Danny asks Vicky.

"We don't know just yet. You can go in and see her just now" Vicky tells him before Danny nods. 

Danny looks at you. "Go in, alone. I'll wait out here" you tell him. Danny lets out a quiet sigh before he kisses you. As you watch him go in, you take a seat next to Andi. However after five minutes, you stand up and you leave. Tears stream down your face.
