It's the day of Croke Park. Your boyfriend Danny had been slightly nervous about it all week but he knew he had to get out there and do it.
You had 5 minutes before he had to go and join Mark and Glen for the parade for Paint the Town Green through the audience. You're chatting to Danny before he goes on stage.

He has his hands firmly placed on your waist while you have your arms around his neck. You get a small shiver down your spine. You always loved it when he put his long, thins arms around you.
His hazel eyes are looking down into yours.
He looks nervous and scared.

"I'm nervous baby" he whispers. You place your hands on his cheeks. You look up at him.
"Dan, don't be nervous" you tell him. "I'm so proud of you right now. Go out there and make me cry".

He laughs. "And you'll be waiting for me when I get off stage?".
"Yes I will".
"You promise?".
"Yeah I promise" you smile and giggle a little as you say that.

Danny smiles before leaning in and kisses you. The kiss is quick before you look back once again into his piercing dark eyes.
You begin to choke up.
"Oh Dan I'm so proud of you" you sniff, tears rolling down your cheeks.

Danny wipes them away with his knuckle.
"Hey baby girl, it's okay" he whispers.
You hug him tightly.
"Dan I'm just so proud of you" you sob. You feel Danny rub your shoulder blades as he tries not to cry.

You look back at him. "Dan I've always been proud of you. Everything you've done it's just been one hell of a life story" you laugh. He chuckles before he says: "Everything I've ever done, I've done for you".

You look at him before you stand on your toes and you hug him again.
When you break apart, you link hands. Danny slowly starts to walk away to go to where the flag bearers will walk out.

Eventually you lose your grip with Danny's hand as you see him walk away. Suddenly he stops before he turns to look back at you. You're still looking at him. He then run back to you before you both kiss each other.

You feel him cup your cheeks as he continues to kiss you. You don't want it to end.
You have no idea how long the kiss goes on for.
You then hear footsteps and then you hear the door open.

"Danny it's time to go-".
Mark's voice.
You pay no attention to his or Glen's presence at the door.
Eventually you and Danny break apart. He's crying slightly, thin lines of joy are glistening on his cheeks.

You smile at him and you put your hands on his cheeks again.
"Do me proud" you whisper.
"I promise" he whispers back before you both hug again.

When Danny finally turns around and walks off with two of his best friends, he waves back at you and you wave in return.
You then hear Mark say:
"Come on lover boy".
