Your husband Danny looks at you, tears on the rim of his eyelids. You smile at him as you sit back in your hospital bed. You had both just become parents to a little boy.
Danny looks at you, he's smiling, he's just over the moon. He's holding your left hand in both his, and he refuses to let it go.

"I'm just so proud of you" he whispers. You smile before you lean forward and hug him. You both hug before he kisses you.

When you break apart, you lean slightly to your left. Your little boy is wrapped up in white blankets wearing a little blue baby romper and a matching hat. He's asleep but you can hear him mumbling.

You gently lift him up and into your arms. You hold him so that Danny can sit on the bed next to you. When he does, you both look down on your little angel. He has round cheeks and small little lips. He looks so much like Danny. You think of the photos he showed you ages ago of him as a baby and you are just speechless at how alike they look.

Danny whispers to you: "What are we going to call him?".
You look at him. "There was one name I had in mind" you say. He looks at you before he asks what the name was.

You pause before letting it slip.
"Shay".

Danny is quiet before he smiles. "Yeah" he says. "Shay o'Donoghue".

You nod before you smile. Shay moves his hands up near his face. You watch grinning as he wraps his tiny hands around Danny's finger. "Hello Shay" you hear Danny whisper. You turn to Danny and slowly you pass Shay into your husband's arms. For about 10 minutes you hear Danny talking with his son.

You watch on as Danny speaks with him. You felt happy. Danny had told you he wanted one of his kids to be a boy, and you had suggested the name 'Shay' before in your father-in-law's memory. And now the wish both of you had, had come true.
